I think the dot crosshair blocks the vision most actually. With a normal crosshair, the spot where the enemy's head should be is not covered by the crosshair.
Dot with an outline has been the most reliable one for me for the past 2 years. I've changed a lot but the dot with outline seems to be the best for every map.
For the longest time I use a black Crosshair, I completely get Eliges take on distraction issues with crosshairs. For me it already starts with to bright colors. The black one is almost 100% visible on every CS Map without being a complete contrast to the rest of the game. If someone has still issues with finding the right crosshair, maybe you should give that a try ✌
I use a follow recoil dot in pink with a green display crosshair to get the best of both worlds and good visibility on every map. :D Highly recommend it, you can do any two colours as well.
I have alpha 150-170 because I have been focusing too much / looking too much at the crosshair so im trying to remove that habit. And im actualy hitting Nice shorts with it
Elige can you make a video on different viewmodels like what i have experienced is when i use preset 1 or viewmodel very similar to yours my aim is very shaky but i spray better i dont whiff that much when i use preset 3 my aim is becomes very stable but i choke with sprays alot and i dont like viewmodel_z - 1.5 i dont know that is the only reason i like your viewmodel because it doesn't feel low like what it feels when i use preset 3 so what i did is i have changed the value of x to 2.5 and y and z is 2 and - 1 which helps me to use a hybrid of preset 1 and 3. So i just want to you tell me why do you specifically use your custom viewmodel is there a specific reason because 90 percent of the pro scene is playing cs on preset 3. please reply to my comment and sorry for bad english . Yo Elige I'm not sure if you've seen it already but 5 hours ago wooting have released their own version of the recently blown up razer "snap tap" feature, would this be something that you will try to impliment into your own gameplay? I use ur wooting profile so would be interesting to hear your take on it :) thanks mate
The changes in lighting and brightness in CS2 forced me to start using crosshair outlines. For example, a green or blue .5 thickness crosshair will almost entirely vanish for me on a map like Nuke or Anubis, with a lot of bright coloured walls. I’ve tried different monitor settings on my Zowie 240hz but the outline remains the most consistent in terms of visibility. It’s a shame I’m limited to bigger crosshairs, but if you find yourself losing your crosshair in a fight on a brightly lit map, consider an outline!
Personally I don't think that Style 5 helps you with memorizing spray patterns that much. More likely it gives you a feeling of when you are able to shoot again precisely after your last shot. So for example it can help you to learn the time span between each Deagle Shot so you get the feeling of when the next bullet will hit precisely and when it won't
why do i never see a red crosshair? for me its the ultimate key for visibility, i struggle hard not "losing" the crosshair with bright and light colors (like in the example of vertigo sky and the light blue crosshair). Red is just always popping out of the surroundings (for me, even nuke with red signs is ez). But why does nobody else use it?
As boomer like myself, I find the xantares crosshair more useful for fast tracking and spraying. I’ve also added the little dot in the middle. This one has worked for me
I always had problems seeing my small yellow crosshair on mirage but never wanted to change color or put an outline. My solution was this: cl_crosshaircolor_r 230; cl_crosshaircolor_g 255; cl_crosshaircolor_b 0 Makes the crosshairs slightly more greenish and (at least for my monitor) a lot more visible against yellow walls while still keeping the same look. Maybe someone finds this helpful
Makes sense. Can't think of some purple spot on a map right now. I remember switching from green to light blue when green cache came out. I think it works well too.

It's nice to have around 5 different crosshairs you're comfortable with and switch through them when you get bored of using the same one for too long

Dot chossair is the very best in my opinion, when i switched it made me so much more precise
