- Jim Carrey delivers an outrageous performance in this "fall-down, flat-out, irresistibly deranged movie" (Rolling Stone). Rhode Island state trooper Charlie Baileygates (Jim Carrey) proves that nice guys finish first after marrying the prettiest gal in town. There's a deleted scene where a farmer tells Charlie and Irene that the cow was fine and just loved to sleep on the road, and they both glance at each other with guilt. That's probably why they show the cow alive and well in a neck brace at the end.

cows typically have very thick skulls commonly you have to shoot them in the soft part of there skull which is located in between the eyes and it is very uncommon for the first bullet to kill them.
