Yep you were wrong.... that was Revenuers' rock not chimney top.... but it's all good... the big hole gives it away...chimney top is across chimney top creek and directly across from Henson's Pt is Halfmoon rock. The last time I got caught in the rain was the trip I forgot to watch the weather forecast for!!!
Lol I figured so. I still haven't taken the time to visit chimney top. Every time I go with someone the tell me what each thing is, but I always forget in the moment 😂
you are so right man the bad times makes the good times even better and the stories that come are amazing. it reminds me of a couple of weeks ago me and my wife hiked from bad creek access to Upper white water falls on the Foothills trail. it started raining about an hour in and by the time we got to the parking lot it was snowing and we were soaked. I wouldn't change it for anything though. we had so much fun on that climb. also y'all are lucky having a Hardees and a Dairy Queen in the same place lol.
Lol they have the setup on the restaurants there XD That is one of the best hikes in the FHT. I absolutely loved the Upper WW Falls. Those darn stairs though lol
This should be a lesson to all those die hard, it's-got-to-be-hard-and-life-threatening-or-it-ain't-woth-it folks who don't kick back and enjoy more moderate and fun hiking experiences. Hike on!

What an amazing experience! I want to get to the Red River Gorge someday. My friend that lives in Kentucky wants me to come and hike there this summer. ✌🏼. That pizza looked yummy 😋
As someone that grew up in that area be aware it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. As a whole it's a nice place but in the nada tunnel and indian creek areas it can be a little hostile (lot of substance abuse in that area and sometimes leads to people getting violent with you) but from what I've heard and experienced most other places are pretty safe.

The canopy was made by 'Miyagi on the trail'. He makes a ton of his own gear and said he just tacked on the pull out to the ridgeline of his tarp. The winds were really high. I think 40+ mph so they ripped the stitching
