  • For our second day in Kentucky we visited what is said to be one of the most beautiful areas of the state, the Red River Gorge, which is home to over 100 arches, tons of trails, and beautiful views. We decided to get a bit ambitious and do a 12.2 mile hike called the Red River Gorge Loop, which was exhausting, but oh so beautiful! Along the way we hiked to Gray’s Arch, Hanson’s Point, got a little lost, and saw some beautiful fall colors. And of course we stuffed our faces afterwards :)

    Watch our first adventure in Kentucky (riding horses + eating a hot brown burger! 🐎🍔): ruclips.net/video/NbTbi3ScpLw/видео.html
    Safety is our #1 priority and we want to stress that this adventure, and all future adventures, will be done responsibly and with the health of others in mind. Here are the steps we are taking everyday, including in these videos:
    😷Masks and face coverings. We wear these anytime we are near others outside and especially indoors. If we don’t have a mask on in a video, it’s 99% because there was no one around.
    ⏰ Exploring early. We normally start at sunrise anyway because of less crowds, but especially so with COVID. We have been starting our days before sunlight so we can limit our interactions.
    🧼 Washing and sanitizing our hands, especially after touching anything outside of the van.
    🚐 Being in the van 95% of the time when we’re not filming. The adventures we share are a small sliver of our lives. We are staying in the van all day everyday when working and the only time we leave is to do laundry, get gas, or go to the store.
    6️⃣ Keeping our distance. We are trying to stay at least 6 ft from others, which truthfully isn’t always possible (and then we make sure we cover our face).

    Hello Adventurers😊😊! And WOW...what a SPECTACULAR hike through the arches and rock formations. I never knew there were so many arches in Eastern KY. I liked your dinner choices too, those burritos looked really good. I know Kentucky quite well and so many beautiful places in KY. Here are my favorites: Lexington Horse Park is really cool and getting close to the horses, Frankfort- Capitol of KY, Louisville- Ali Center, Louisville Slugger Museum, Walk across the Ohio River into Indiana, Cumberland Gap National Historic Park in southeastern KY where 3 states meet KY/VA/TN and you can see this at the top of the Pinnacle Overlook, You MUST check out Mammoth Cave National Park- you will love the cave tours, do not leave ky without checking this place out😊! National Corvette Museum in nearby Bowling Green is a cool too. A little further west is Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area...beautiful area and there are lots of bison there! Now, as far as the next state I'm going to say the very southern tip of Illinois at the town of Cairo, where the Ohio River empties into the Mighty Mississippi. There are 2 bridges you must cross, the Ohio and the Mississippi which brings you into Southeastern Missouri. So that is where I think you will end up. Really thoroughly enjoyed this video👍👍👍.

    My guesses: Arkansas (and going to Hot Springs National Park?) and then Oklahoma? The way you guys described the hike at the end sounds a lot like the one I did in Olympic National Park. Very long and after a few 'wow' points at the start, it was just through trees the rest of the way 🤣 Unlike you guys though who said no regrets, 10 years on I still regret choosing that hike (especially after watching some of your videos and seeing what else the park has on offer!) The UK is back in full lockdown and we're being asked to stay indoors unless going out for essentials or to exercise... so these travel vlogs are even more of a welcome right now!! 🥰

    Loved seeing your video of the gorge! How long does it take you to edit a video on average? I have been trying to learn editing and it is definitely a grind with a sharp learning curve!

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  3 года назад

      That’s a great question! It depends a lot if we have multiple video sources (Sony, drone, and gopro) since it requires more sorting, but I’d say reviewing the clips takes probably 2 hours, editing takes around 3-4, music takes around 2, and then uploading, description writing, and tagging is around 1 hour. I’ve gotten a lot quicker at editing and can usually edit a video in 1-2 days if I have enough time.
      It is definitely a learning curve! I only know the bare minimum to get by haha

Yes there was a bear attack in summer of 2010 but when caught the culprit bear was ill and malnourished just looking to make an easy meal of a hiker but was chased off by someone hitting it with a backpack. Also make time to go up to the Natural Bridge ,lots of tourist there , but you can take the skylift to the top and save a couple hours and its pretty much continuous scenery from start to finish .
