Created in 1791, the trail was covered by patrols of customs officers - hence its name - responsible for preventing any smuggling. To keep an eye on trafficking and looting of wrecks, they crisscrossed the coasts night and day, whatever the weather: think about it when your legs are begging for mercy! Having fallen into disuse at the beginning of the 20th century, the trail enjoyed a second life from 1968, when a few enthusiasts decided to make it a hiking trail.
For more than 2000 km, from Mont-Saint-Michel to the Saint-Nazaire bridge, it winds along the Breton coastline. Telling off its red and white marks like a little thumb, it offers whoever comes to survey it the breath of the open sea and breathtaking views of the sea. Wow! J'adore le littoral Bretagne. L'accent de l'éleveur de moutons rappelle celui des Acadiens français ici en Nouvelle-Écosse et au Nouveau-Brunswick, au Canada.

C'est vrai, on a tendance a oublier que l'actuelle Loire Atlantique a toujours fait partie intégrante de la Bretagne. Le palais des ducs de Bretagne se trouve à Nantes. Là d'où gouvernait Anne de Bretagne avant de céder le duché au royaume de France du fait de son mariage.

Officiellement, le GR34 où sentier des douaniers, démarre au pied du pont de Saint-Nazaire et s'achève au Mont-Saint-Michel, où vice-versa... peu importe ! Ceci dit, pourquoi l'avoir ainsi tronqué en l'arrêtant à Quiberon ??? Ce parti pris est assez surprenant... pour ne pas dire navrant !!!😡👎

Beau reportage mais qu’est devenue la culture des animateurs ? En l’occurrence si celle-ci était privée de l’expression « du coup » elle resterait muette. En revanche la voix off est très instructive et le discours documenté. Non tout le monde ne peut pas s’improviser animateur.
