They would say something like that in Pandora

@Star Platinum true xD
i personaly really like the art style, i find it very original and creative
who doesnt?
UberPossu MISTER POO!!! it is you!1!
Scootastic MC ??????

UberPossu i had i freind wjo thought the graphics were shit
I will never forget the Borderlands 1 intro, it's perfect if not the best game intro ever.
+HackingDutchman borderlands 2
+Francisco Terrazas No, Borderlands 1 intro s better in my opinion.
borderlands 2 was more 'action packed' but the borderlands intro was more.... ermm... epic
+epicus1088 2nd chanel I liked the BL2 one better because it actually showed off your principal players this time around. BL1 just should you what they looked like and their name and that was about it. Also I feel no place for no hero is the more representative song for the series.
+HackingDutchman I totally agree... like an action movie teaser, presenting the main protagonists... B2 intro is more polished, but I definitely prefer the rough edges of the first intro :)
Can't wait to see the borderlands 3 intro
Just wait

I loved it how they made the character intro's in the second game connect.
BL1: Better music
BL2: Better intro
Brewserker I think the same
Yeah I love BL1 intro but BL2 intro is almost perfection
Both are better than the pre-sequels intro
Agreed
I enjoyed the song and intro of bl2 more.

glad seeing that skag finally found someone to take care of him in borderlands the pre sequel
You know, I think the Skag from the opening of BL1 is the same as the one from the opening of BL2.
It is
Mayolord O'hare oh yea, the skag looks like it's injured.
Can't be, doesn't BL2 take place a few years after BL1?
@@metawolf987 it might but when compared from the first to the second it flows seamlessly between the two of them
skag gets hit:
"RAAA-eerf!"
2:00 I bet that is the same Skag that got hit by the bus in the first game and somehow survived
That Skag will appear again in Borderlands 3. I'm sure
shipu302 #Contente if there is a borderlands 3
Scootastic MC Borderlands 3 will not exist if Jonh Titor was right.
Teltale games killed the skag lol rhys ran it over or wounded it badly

One of the most underrated franchises in gaming.
Cam Superman Newton #Goat #1 #DabOnThem Not really considering it is 2k's highest selling franchise ever.
Christian Holbrook swoosh that went right over your head...
Well you weren't exactly convincing there
how can you call something like borderlands underrated. hells it got its own fucking telltales spin off wtf
CardiacCats wtf it's a highly appraised franchise, won some prizes and have a solid fanbase waiting for the third game
Borderlands 2 > Borderlands 1 but Fyrestone > Sanctuary
+RanMay i guess the real comparison would be new haven and sanctuary
True
Glad we revisited Fyrestone tho
Fyrestone better than Sanctuary? Fyrestone isn't even better than Liar's Berg.
Who else felt a little sad when the skag got dragged on the ground at 2:22?
I was at first but then i rembered how they annoyed the fuck outta me later on in the game when i started playing
ClassyMrPenguin he is also the one that got hited by a fucking truck In borderlands 1 intro
DICKS OUT FOR SKAG
I was a little sad for the skag who got hit by the bus in the first game, bit then I realised later through playing how annoying they are
Poor dude.
Damn son! That Skag took a beatn'
CueresiaiGO
Say what you want to about the games...the opening sequences are completely badass.
oh damn... I soooo love these games. Bought first couple months ago, finished in like a 3 weeks with everything possible and now kicking asses in TVHM in B2... can´t get enough of it !!
While b1 has the most iconic intro 2 is by far my favorite. I spent the most time on 2 and had some of my most fondest gaming memories on 2
Borderlands - Better song
Borderlands 2 - Better video
Both are great =D
idk about that haha i prefer borderlands 2 song more.
and i like borderlands (1) intro a little more its just shorter :)
also did anyone notice in borderlands 1 they started with the skinny guy first and in borderlands 2 they did him last.
and who ever is last in the videos is just a number or them selves :D
i do prefer borderlands charterers more then borderlands 2 characters.
KINDA
i wish i could have lilith and brick replace there borderlands 2 counter parts
If Borderlands 3 doesn't have a skag or a sign something is wrong
I was so disappointed with the pre sequel opening i had to come watch these again
I must say it just isn't as cool, I think the first two had better music too. Claptrap's intro gave me a laugh at least
Yeah, wasn't as good as either of the two, but the plot was pretty damn good. And I actually found the ending credits actually pretty well done.
Poor Claptrap T~T
MrKingMP
Have you seen the Tales openings by the way? Episode 4's was epic.
MrKingMP It's basically an upgrade of the TPS opening. Less badass, but more dramatic. When that thing took off, I felt my heart throbbing, and then when we see Helios as it is now, and we get what we always really wanted, I felt so hyped up
+Heisen Berg I didn't find it to be bad at all. It does what it's suppose to do, showcase the characters action skills in a badass way and the music wasn't bad either.
okay the first intro makes clear sense to me now after beating borderlands 2 with no clue to what happened in borderlands 1. I guess that in borderlands 1 they were the first characters you got to play as and now in every sequel it will transition over to the new vault hunters.
I bet it will be another mmo rpg where you travel from planet to planet searching for vaults in your galaxy. mmo rpg's are too mainstream like todays elder scrolls online, game that are not mean't to be these genres will soon come.
Play the first one. It's just as good. Also, *HUGE SPOILER ALERT FOR BORDERLANDS 2* if you had played as Mordecai, Bloodwing's death is all the more sadder.
Wait, you think this intro was a direct continuation of the first? The second game takes place five years after the first. If that isn't what you meant, then disregard what I've said.
***** the game isn't meant as a direct sequel, well sort of, the story does continue well, but there is that time gap, that's what the pre-sequel covers how handsome jack became who he is, and how he came to be owner of Hyperion.
Zack Ripalda Um, what does that have to do with anything I've said?
Wow I haven't seen the intro to the first one in years. Thanks for the memories. It's so odd seeing the cast from the first and knowing their fate in the second. Damn I love these games!
The first one is so good, the song went perfectly with it
Fially! someone who made normal video with both openings, respect bro, good job
I love in B1 how everyone else just politely disappears for each character's introduction
At this point in the game I already knew I liked the game because of how awesome this scene was.
You're very welcome! Ain't no rest for the wicked is my favourite, just awesome!
Now that borderlands is 3 is out, this intro will still be the one that started everything, and forever in my childhood.
I was 9 when I played the first game, I LOVED IT, I will always remember this opening.
I was 12 when the second one came out, I remember that i've pre-order the game like 4 month before it came out, i've played it all night with my best friend.
I'm 18, and I'm gonna play the 3rd one, probably the game I waited more than the second. I'm ready see again how big I love this franchise, THANK YOU GEARBOX !
They adding loot boxes to it
Space Pyro they didn’t
In my opinion the second one is by far the best one. The graphics and physics are awesome. You get a better insight into the specialisations of the different characters along with more general action. You also get that bad guys and good guys depiction. And i ofc think that the song in the second is way better than that of the first one.
Thank you!! I have been looking for the names of the songs for 2 years now and i finally found them!!
Seriously the two best games I've ever played.
the moment you realize two things
1 fun clearly take center stage as soon as the vehicle containing the vault hunters arrives and the music changes
2 from borderlands 1- pre sequel and if borderlands 3 rumors are true , skaggs made itfrom the joke to a skill
Can't wait for the BL 3 intro if this is the quality. I mean hell, you got one of the greatest songs, Ain't no rest for the wicked, and then followed up with an homage to the first intro, with just as good music and a kickass intro to our main 4.
I fell in love with the game just seeing the opening
Every opening opens with a skag getting hit by a Vehicle, starts off a short clip with introductory caption montages, and ends on the very last guy getting a joke caption (Brick as Himself and Zer0 as a Number). I find that hilarious.
Awesome openings, this series. And awesome series overall.
Just the video I was looking for. Thanks much for the upload. :)
Good job, been looking for a video that has both Borderlands 1 and 2 opening scenes in it.
You guys ever noticed how those two intros are contrasting with each other?
Think about it.
the first one has a lot more optimistic music and it has that "positive" vibe that an adventure awaits. you also start off in a sunny Desert. opening shot is the poster advertising how "great" Pandora is.
While the second opens up with the same poster except now it's Handsome Jack's propaganda about Vault Hunters. There is also no music untill bandits get hit by a goddamn train, something that was a kind of a twist since an advanced railing system like that on a planet like Pandora "seems" out of place but later on we see how much this planet has changed when Hyperion stepped in. you also start off in a Cold Icy enviroment at a night time. Instead of Marcus just driving you through it, it's a train where you get ambushed, and the driver basically tricked you and tried to murder you.
It's something that no one actually ever noticed and it's weird to me
Another thing I noticed about BL2 as you played through the story was the environmental progression. You start in a frozen wasteland, and the areas that follow get hotter and hotter (in general) until you end the game basically inside a volcano. It's a nice bit of environmental storytelling that perfectly mirrors the rising tension in the narrative itself.
@@bhx6252 ah yes now that you mention it, that really is a thing.
Honestly i love this, it's pretty amazing attention to detail. like don't get me wrong, both games are fun and good as fuck but that really is something i did not expect from Borderlands franchise, and perhaps that's why barely anyone notices this
Oh this brings back memories and expect an update video tomorrow
This aint no place for no hero
This ain't no place for no better man
This aint no place for no hero to call home
the whole song is a reference to handsome jack
Borderlands was one of my first FPS and i played this when i was young(11-12) idk but when borderlands 2 came out and i was 13...14? i dunno but when borderlands the pre-sequel came out i just turned 15 now im waiting for borderlands 3 which i hope has skag intro as well. Borderlands is the only game i played as i've grown.
Exactly the same as me!:)
That crazy cause I played each game at around the same age
it means that you all are of the same age, and played it when it got out. not that crazy
Cars drive and Skags die. That’s just how the intros go.
I loved how they brought back the best characters in borderlands 1 to borderlands 2 damn borderlands one was the best when I was young
The bl3 intro will just be randy doing his magic tricks on us...
Damn I thank the youtube algorithm for this 1 pure nostalgia haven't touched them in a few years...my ex and I played thru the first 2 and started the prequel some great but painful memories knowing I'll never finish the prequel alongside her let alone 3 but here's to meeting the right one that will cheers 🍻
Borderlands 1: Gunporn.
Borderlands 2: Gunporn with a great story, slightly better loot whoring, and my god the comedy, BUT that intro....just....compared to Borderlands 1, no contest, Borderlands 1 by default.
seriously? I thought BL2 intro was way better. It introduced the characters much better.
UpcoRaul I am not saying that the Borderlands 2 intro is bad, its very good, in fact, if the Borderlands 1 did not have such a good song to go with it, the Borderlands 2 intro would indeed be my favorite Borderlands intro.
AceOfBlazes Bad song??? Oh my god
Hugo Cardona Torró I am NOT saying that it is a bad song.
AceOfBlazes Ain't no rest the wicked is a great song and suits the game and universe much better.
Best videogame intros ever made
Best intro ever.
i got addicted to bl2 opening song
Borderlands series are the ultimate spaghetti western games. Fantastic, epic game intros! 🤣😁🤙
Such good song choices for all the borderlands games.
Wish they could have added Gaige in there once you bought her like an easter egg or something.
Stevean2 According to her Echo logs, she blew up her rival during a science competition, and with her father's help, fled from the law to Pandora, then joined up with the Vault Hunters. My guess that she was on a different train cart than the original four.
***** Aha! I suspected right!
Unpopular opinion:
Borderlands 2 had a better a intro
The correct opinion, though.
Actually a very popular opinion
I think they both did about the same, both of them just fell short in one department (1 had bad choreography but great music that really fit the tone, 2 had great choreography and the music isn't bad but it doesn't really fit the tone).
Zero was my main and favorite..this is pure nostalgia from when I was 7.
This brings back so many memories
2 intro is just perfect
Can we appreciate skag, getting hurt, for us to enjoy this epic intros?
That psycho knocking out a random guy in the truck With his head is so underated 😂😂 it's been a while since I laughed that hard
I must agree, the first was good but the second was and still is AMAZING! It is one of if not the best video game i have ever played
thanks jj stevens i been looking for an opening cinematics 1 and 2
Borderlands 1 intro was very humoristic and with the song it was the top)), Borderlands 2 intro was cruel and music was like something sad. Did i express myself correctly?
In my opinion, Borderlands 2's intro is a slightly darker level of dark humour; whereas Borderlands 1 relied on the cheery music and great timing, whereas Borderlands 2 draws a stronger contrast with sad, melancholic music with over-the-top slapstick humour. Things like the "Nothing personal" under "Welcome to your death" sign and the way the bandit first survived on top of the train only to be slammed down violently are key examples of that.
If you ask me Borderlands 2's intro was done in such a way to demonstrate a slight change of tone whilst still remembering what it was about: The game felt a bit different from the prequel, but it was most definitely still Borderlands.
The song of the 2 ( Short Change Hero) is just epic... not sad... (well maybe the whole song is dark, but not sad...)
Luablood I know, I love the music myself and epic would be a good term, but it just has a bit of a melancholic feeling to it or something? You probably get what I mean, no?
***** I'm sorry but no... No melancolic feeling... I must say that I do generally listen to songs ''Darker'' than that so it might just be my perceptio n of thing...
Lambda
yeah, the two sequels were definitely darker, as it should be. I think it's fitting that the slideshow epilogue accompanying "What makes a good man" leads directly into the events of "Short Change Hero"--complete with that shot of Claptrap witnessing the train explosion.
Anyone 2019 still play both of these games?
Nah, I'm playing 3.
Borderlands 3.
Mmm yes 🌚☻🗿
Don't worry I am.
The first song is "ain't no rest for the wicked" by "cage the elephant"
Oh lilith, how I loved playing as you. And gaige with her deathtrap. 3 I don't think I can ever get tired of replaying either of these games.
Mad Max fury road
I believe the director was a fan of borderlands.
Mad max was made way earlier than border lands
Elizabeth Brown Oh no, Borderlands is full of Mad Max references.
Skags are a MM reference, the intro too, "We'll see you on the road skag!"
Mad Mel in BL2 too, Mad Moxxie too.
Moxxie's underdome too, a reference to MM's Thunderdome.
Some of the Archievements such as "Can we get to Thunderdome?" too.
+Interista - BL has a bunch of name references to MM, but that seems to be it. Borderlands' tone and atmosphere in the first game, does not compare at all with the tone and setting of the first original Mad Max movie. And Mad Max Fury Road was awful compared to Borderlands 1 and 2. Rage 2 seems like it will be a decent fusion of Borderlands and Mad Max.
And that's what we in the gaming industry call ICONIC
Can’t wait to see the 3rd intro
She'll probably be the leader of the Raiders in B3, but Maya might be the next Siren they have to save or she and Lilith are going to help open all the vaults. My guess is, that'll be the story line for the next one, them finding and then raid or (possibly) destroy the vaults that are spread out across the galaxy, with a bazillions of zillion more guns;)
Borderlands does a great job choosing music for there games.
Watching this makes me want to play borderlands again
My guess is that it is the same skag, but it's still mangled from the first one years beforehand. The kind of damage it sustained from the impact wouldn't just heal itself without medical treatment, so it healed improperly, thus the limping and odd behaviour.
With these opening Borderlands will never go wrong.
This is the best ever made
The fucking love the first intro. Watching it over and over
I love the design of normal marauders in the 2nd game
To think it all began when they got off a bus.
Borderlands 2 is still alive after 5 years.
ain't no rest for the wicked. this ain't no place for a hero can't decide
Great video! Thanks!
Honestly, 2 was an improvement. It brought the formula back, bigger and better. It does what a sequel sets out to do: top the first game. And dear god, did it top it.
Love the music.... FREAKIN' AWESOME!
Never played the first game so when I found out that the four people in the next game... WERE THE HEROS...
You can't beat funny violence set to music, it's basicaly the premise behind all Tarantino movies.
this makes me miss playing borderlands
10 sociopathic vault hunters unleashed
They choose awesome songs!
BORDERLANDS 3 HYPE!
The Borderlands 2 opening is more... should I say..
INTENSE!
When I first started Borderlands, I FREAKED OUT when I saw the name of the VERY FIRST CHARACTER that they introduced: Mordecai. I had always felt like my name was under-appreciated, and for the longest time I had been ridiculed because my name sounded "so corny". But then I started this game, with my dad sitting right next to me, and we both laughed and I said, "fuck yeah!" Not only that, but Mordecai was the Hunter (preferred sniper-rifles and whatnot), a class I would choose in a heartbeat. I instantly grew to love Mordecai's sarcastic lines and personality, and I found that his personality matched mine to the T.
Never before have I played a game so intently, all the way through.
To the creators of Borderlands, you will always have my support.
this comment filled my heart with joy
Borderlands got to have the best intro of any kind in the world lol
All I know is that when Borderlabds 3 comes out, it's gonna have some badass music.
my favorite opening to a video game
For borderlands one I had no problem chose a character. Lilith, hands down. But for the second I had a harder time choosing. Couldn't decide between the Siren Maya or Zer0. I ended up choosing Zer0, but for the first while I was considering starting over and switching back to Maya. I kept playing with Zer0 and I have no regrets! But man is Borderlands 2 quite a bit more challenging than the first.
Hey money doesn't grow on trees it grows in Skaggs 😏
I agree. The borderlands 2 is a much better game than the first one. An improvement in every way.
It's been interesting for me to watch the way Overwatch and Battleborn competed, with (sadly, IMO) Overwatch completely dominating. Blizzard's characters and presentation are always extremely polished, but to my mind they are far, far, faaaaar less interesting and amusing than what Gearbox comes up with.
Yes, I know this is Borderlands not Battleborn, but I think the contrast between the two companies is even more evident here. These intros are amongst the best ever, IMO, and so much better than anything Blizzard have ever done. This is how you do action and character design and music - it all looks cool without trying too hard, it's incredibly characterful without being too blatant, it all comes together in a perfect package that's quite brief but still does more to convey what the game's all about than most other games manage in their entire duration.
Same feel, brother, same words. I would add that Gearbox series are made by directors, actors and scenarists, when Blizzard`s made by gamers. Those guys should`ve worked together. Such a loss for everyone...
