Sir do you know how can I control pick up coils out put for distributors?
I need some thing to control duration of pulses ore the 4 pin gm ignition module Im experimenting lot with engines so I wuld like to build me self variabel controled ignition timing .
Im simply useing multipel engine types so I need some thing that does that task .
Im even useing dual coils and dual 4 pin gm ignition modules only problem I have only 1 pick up coil so I need to ajust that for ich coil corectly.

This is awesome making pin 6 as output instead of pin 3....i think we can also use astable multivibrator configuration to vary the pwm and by connecting the dc motor to pin no 3 and power supply...

@easterngeek K, didn't know motors could go that low on amps. I don't know much about them though. I've been doing basically what you suggested. I put a mosfet in the circuit. I'm not going for microbursts though... I'm going for like 1 to 5 second durations. The first mosfet was a buz71a... I quickly learned about max junction temperature, hehe... the buz71a overheated real fast. Think I'm going to try a irfz44 next... seems way overkill for something running of 2 AAs but hoping it works.

How do you keep the 555 chip from burning out? The motor draws several watts/amps from the batteries... yet the chip is only rated for mili amps, right? I know my 555 chips kept buring out when I tried something similar to this way back. It often pulsed for about a minute or two and then burned out. Was I doing something wrong?

Hi, how do i calculate the resistor in order to produce a period of 20ms, a uptime of 2ms and a downtime of 18ms. Thanks in advance for helping out and regards!

Just one question. How big is your input voltage? is it 18V?

Thanks. Yeah, that is the solution I ended up going with.

the frequency here is the frequency of the electronic pulses given off by the 555 timer you cant use that to change the radio frequency it two different things but are measured the same for the radio the frequency is how far the crest of the wave is from the other crest

What do you use to make the leds flash rapidly

Can 555 chip be used to run a motor for sometime (Tr= say 3 minutes) and stop for sometime ( Ts = say 3 minutes) and let this cycle continue ?
    2. Can Tr and Ts be increased or decreased ?

@101perspective keep max motor current 200mA. Bigger motor you'll need to use a transistor

would it work with a 10k variable resistor instead of the 100 k?

try that with a stepper motor mate it will be awsome but vary the step with to get the good tunable souds and you can build midi robots using arduino and the same principles

Sorry, forgot I even put this question up. Yeah, I later came up with the same solution. I had a little trouble finding the right transistor that wouldn't overheat also... mosfets and stuff was a learning curve all it's own. You would think they would come out with an easier way of understanding their abilities. But no, you need a decoder ring to figure out how they heat up, how much they can handle, etc.

If I use a transistor where do I put it?

    did u use a flyback?
And just use a BC546 or something like that.
It doesnt cost mutch and it wil be better for your 555.
especcially when you get a load on the motor.

  • @mcporche
    @mcporche 11 лет назад

The simple solution is to take your pulsed output of your 555 chip, and apply it to a switching power transistor, which is in series with your load. That way, the 555 timer is not conducting the current of your load.

+Arun G Give me a few days to record a special video 4 U, please. In this video I'll show how to do that and how it works. (I used almost the same solution in my DIY electric car). If U want to know more about programmable electronic things subscribe my channel :) In very next week I'm gonna show how to make a low cost simple line follower robot. Now I'm just starting my channel so I've got a plan to explain everything, not just to show and tell not enough info about it. Stay in contact +Arun G :)
