Thanks for watching guys! DRIVING Impressions are under embargo and will come in PART 2 coming on Tuesday, November 23rd at 12:01am, where we drive it on the iconic Sonoma Raceway! Until then, what do we think about the design/features of the Elantra N??
Woah that stock exhaust sounds hella good! Have mixed feelings about the exterior design, but it's a step in the right direction. Kudos to Hyundai for bringing the Elantra N to the US. If I were shopping for a sedan, I'd definitely take a DCT Elantra N.
The fact that it comes with an optional 8 spd dual clutch instead of just manual (talking about you, HONDA!) is a win-win! I live in a major city where traffic is just a nightmare and a manual transmission just not going to cut it for me...Plus, the dual clutch option is faster anyways. I'm starting to see more of Lamborghini styling with the Elantra N. Loving the menacing look!
Solid review. I personally like the practicality of the Kona N just wish it came with a manual. Yes it’s slower, I just like the engagement of a third pedal.
@@datdemoman1145 Want four doors and a bit more room. Drove a Kona N a few days ago. Liked the car but it didn't blow me away like I hoped it would. Wished I would have adjusted the suspension, very jittery ride. Did have some torque steer too. The dealer telling me that they were selling it at MSRP, 43K. A good car for 36K not 43K, other options at that price.
I have been following this vehicle for over a year since it's announcement. I have stopped at all the local dealerships asking about it. I was initially interested in the Sonata N Line (still am) but I have been leaning more and more tward this one. I am definitely going to aim on getting either.
couple of my local dealers were ignorant and had no information about it. but the salesperson was also only interested in getting me to sign and buy something that day so I don't even know where to go when they're able to make it here in the US.
Hell yes that will be a huge step up! I used to have an Accent myself for 4 years. It sure was great on gasoline! And I never had a single problem with that simple little car! It was smooth and did what I needed it to do, which was get me to work and to see my friends. How has yours been? How many miles do you have on yours Hakeem?
I wish the moon roof was at least an option on the manual. I am. It a professional race car driver and don’t care about a few extra pounds. It is mostly a daily drive and can take it to the track two or three times a year. I am excited to see it in person. Great review very in depth
Great video! Such a gorgeous car, I plan on trading in my corvette for this car lol did you get a chance to check out the speaker system? I saw it has an 8-speaker Bose system & I haven’t had good luck with Bose. Any good? Loved the video man!
@@stories1984 I hate that shit. They took alot of things out of the US Elantra N model but still charge the same price for it, makes me don't even want it anymore.
That is my only thing stopping me buying what will be the Australian equivalent “i30 N sedan”. I have an i30 active and it can get hot in the back during Aussie summers. For the cost, you should definitely be getting rear vents.
I disagree. I know some guys that don’t want those extra things and don’t want to pay for that. People who buy this car probably aren’t hauling around family for long periods of time to validate the need to charge. And as always you can plug in upfront and simply let the back seat passenger use the cord. As you see here the car has a wireless charger, so running a cord to the back for additional phones to be charged is a non-issue. Hyundai has to draw the line somewhere because like you said, manufacturers have to cut out costs somewhere. Otherwise people will complain that an Elantra costs too damn much. I’d like a backseat armrest but it’s not a huge deal. Put a pillow back there for your arm to rest on and problem is solved. There are work arounds for a lot of things. Hyundai put the money where it belongs. Their beam counters put their foot down on a few things id like to see also but it’s more important that this car is affordable to the under 40 crowd. Hyundai probably won’t sell more than 100 of these per year to men over 40. There is a cute elderly couple at the end of my street who traded their Kia Soul last year for a Hyundai Veloster N- I talk to them a lot. They are in their early 70’s and they take that car to get groceries and run errands around town daily. They just returned from Phoenix to Oklahoma City where we live and they said it was a blast to dart around in from state to state. I think they are definitely in the minority. Anyways, maybe Hyundai will add some USB ports in the backseat area if this car sells well. I don’t blame them for not offering some of these creature comforts initially. The cost of USB ports are said to be about $50 each for manufactures. I’ve done plenty of research, and $50 isn’t nothing. When Hyundai offers rebates and discounts then they are just giving that money away so it’s best not to include it to begin with: they are for profit companies after all and if we consumers expect for them to keep developing these kinds of cars to bring to market then I’m okay with some “cost-cutting” to keep them profitable so that you and me can get the opportunity to buy a fun product if we want. So IMO, I can live with a USB and just run a charging cord to the back in the once a year time that I haul a passenger in the back. I’m single with no kids and not many friends around here. Lol
@@jeremyickes5699 I would half agree with you other than the N has way more tech for the price and you can fit 5 people. Mustangs are a blast but are basically a 2 seater and that was a deal breaker for me. But you are correct that they are still fun and have a great entry price.
