Blodgett Peak / Toughest Trail Hike In Colorado Springs

Blodgett Open Space is located on the northwestern side of Colorado Springs. There are several relatively short trails inside, rated easy to moderate. However if you want a real challenge, look for the Hummingbird Trail, which will lead you into Pike National Forest. This trail is unmaintained and difficult to follow in some areas. It's an out and back trail with an elevation gain of 2,309 feet in the first 1.7 miles. If you're uncomfortable with cross country hiking, AllTrails GPS routing is recommended. Crampons or micro spikes are a must during the winter season.
