That was their plan, yes. However, when she returned, the beast was dying because he was worried about her and missed her. I stand for the beast ;^; (he's a complete gentleman in the original story) Edit: mom, I'm famous. Also can you pick me up? I'm scared-
He actually wasn't angry when she eventually got back, over belles stay at the castle he had fallen in love with her, when she didn't return by the agreed time his heart broke, when belle returned she found him lying on the ground, almost dead from heartbreak, when the beast saw that belle had returned, he got back his will to live and got up, it also randomly broke the curse that made him a beast. Beast was the OG simp.
Fun fact- in the Greek version of the story, when Psyche (Belle) found out her sisters had tricked her, she tricks them into throwing themselves off a cliff, saying Eros (Beast) would take them away to his castle if they did. She was kinda badass
I read the original version and it honestly melts my heart because the beast instead of getting angry and trying to kill her, grabs the flower and goes into a cave and almost dies of heart break.
I heard that originally it was meant to be a story to tell to young women who usually were arranged to marry random people they didn't know. So like first someone who may be "a beast" would turn out to be "a Prince" If you give them a change and get to know them.
@@Zweshi_x yea although that might change the respective of Lion King 2 simbas pride because that movie came out before Lion guard so that might retcon Lion King 2
This story reminds me of the myth of cupid and Psyche. Where psyche's two sisters also try to sabotage her relationship because of jealousy, in the hope that her husband would eat he by getting her to break a rule. There, cupid isn't actually ever a beast, but he is BELIEVED to be a horrible monster, and doesn't allow psyche to see him. (Which is why the sisters try to convince her to break that rule and look at him, thinking that he actyally is a momster and will eat her) I wonder if these stories have similar origins. If beauty and the beast is maybe a modified version of cupid and psyche, changed through the centuries by word of mouth. (Psyche later also gets help from animal companions durung her trials. So she's really a disney princess already)
I actually did grow up with the story because there is a bunch of animated original stories that were made so that people could know the real stories behind Disney movies
This reminds me of Psyche from greek mythology, which was basically the same concept. girl gets kidnapped by "evil" force, falls in love with evil force, sisters try to get her to not be in love, etc.
This exact story also happens in Greek mythology, just with Eros and some chick I can’t remember the name of. Eros made her swear that she’d never look at him, so that she wouldn’t know he was a god. And if she didn’t, she got everything she wanted. Her sisters were jealous of her, and told her that it was probably a monster tricking her. They told her, when he was sleeping, she should get a lamp and look at him. Trusting her sisters, she did. Eros was offended that she’d go against his word, and left, while she was pregnant. Mrs. Pregnant woman tried to drown herself in a river, but a Centaur/Saytr (I can’t remember which) convinced her not to. Btw in Greek Mythology Eros is Cupid and Saytrs are half goat and half human, like a Faun in roman mythology.
It's kinda funny how after Disney's Cinderella came out, every other fairytale adaption would make the protag's sisters ugly. Even if they weren't considered as "step-sisters" Like how every Beauty and The Beast animated adaptions have done with Beauty's sisters
She didn't agree to stay longer. So her sisters turned the clock and belle was an hour late without knowing. When she got back, the beast was no where to be found and when she finally found him he was dying of heartbreak in a cave holding her flower pot in his hand. She cries over his almost dead body as he tells her that he's happy she's back and he's going to die in her arms. And her tears break his curse and they live happily ever after.
I heard a version where in the end the sisters wound up as statues in the beasts garden so they would be forced to watch beautys happiness for the rest of eternity
Dang, that's pretty dark. This reminds me of the book I have and in their dark version of Beauty and the beast, belle's father had also been rich and she had sisters who were pretty much husband hunting every day and there are also older brothers (who aren't mentioned much.) Belle here was called 'Mei' (reminds me of Raiden Mei Edit: Dang I forgot today raiden meis bday today.) because it means beauty, just like "belle" . Meanwhile, the beast used to be a handsome youngest prince of the royal family. Every girl of the kingdom was an absolute simp who would kill for just one glimpse of the guy. Basically the parents said "I'm done putting up with this crap" and kicked him out to live with an old fairy he found. The fairy seems to me looked like an old grandma which made it EVEN MORE messed up since she fell in love at first sight with him, and she demanded that he shall kiss and marry her. Rejecting her, she became raged and boom, now he's a beast. Again, everything goes like the children's one. Mei kept trying to find people who were wiling to bargain with her father and finally found one. Her father set out and ofc, Mei asked for a rose while her sisters begged for new hats. The father forgot how to be humble and the deal didn't work out. A storm appeared and again, like the one we love, he ended up pleasing himself and entered the beast's house treating it like his home, since he's so used to being rich. Next day he decided to go back and then remembered the Meis request for a rose. He took one and the beast was angry (damn if he had neighbors and you were one, imagine waking up and hearing your abnormal neighbor screaming at an old man) since that was what he got in return for the free food, room to stay un and sleep, and many more and feeding his horse and giving it its own shelter (how cute). Now let's skip because im getting tired of writing. It all plays out and Mei is promised to go there as the deal. Meis father loving her the most promised her that they will move. (He was hesitant since yknow the beast might find them someway.) Mei, however, quickly said a big yes because her plan was to kill the beast and live at the large library. Bringing a knife with her(hidden of course), she eventually arrived and the beast acted like a total butler. He always recommended her books everyday because the library looked like there was a million books in there. One day she got offended of a story the beast mentioned: a book loving girl who has the same traits as mei ends up falling in love with a handsome prince. She was offended as hell and mentioned it to the the beast at dinner. (At the time she had already been staying for 2 months there) the beast didnt get it and was like "Ayo don't chicks these days fall for guys because of their looks?" And Mei of course said no. ('IM NOT LIKE THE OTHER GIRLSSSS') The beast then proposed to her out of the blue and Mei, again, said "Tf? You threaten my dad to bring me here and imprison me here. Then you ask for marriage? Its onlybbeen 2 months bro" and the beast was so sad. One day Mei was climbing the tallest ladder to reach a book and then she missed a step and was gonna fall. Suddenly, she falls safely, but is shocked to realize the beast was behind her the whole time and saved her life. She heard his backbone crack, meaning he was gone. While cryong, she suddenly said "I love you!.." and then, she heard a noise. But it wasn' the beast. It was her father and his men. Her father had became rich again, and was gonna save her. After blocking the doors and windows, she saw one of her fathers knights. She got her knife she once planned to use to kill the beast, and stabbed him. She shouted "Where's the beast!? Tell me! Tell me!" Only to realize that knight wasn't her fathers men. It was the beast whose curse had broken once she went to stop her fathers men from coming after she said 'I love you'. Lmao this took pretty long to write. Sorry for the long essay. Anyway, nice version of the beauty and the beast dark version to share Now I need to rest my fingers for so many types.
As a German it‘s so weird to come across vids like this because we grew up on the original fairytales read to us as bed time stories and it still baffles me how our parents ever thought that was a good idea
I have actually heard this in a story they trapped belle in a room but the beast had like a ring he gave her and got to use it to teleport her or something
Personally I prefer the original versions of the Disney fairytales, not only because these are the versions I grew up with (my family has an extremely old book with all those fairytales from 1850 or smth.) but also because I think they're way more interesting.
There's a Version of Cinderella where she was a princess and her mother died. The King, her father, vowed never to marry again unless he found a woman who fit the shoes (role) of his late wife. Which happened to be Cinderella so she ended up running away so she wouldn't have to marry her own father. She became a scullery maid in a different country until she went to a ball, met the prince, lost her shoe, etc. And then there was the version where Cinderella killed her first stepmother just so her father would marry the housemaid...
Do Pocahontas. As she was a real person her story is very sad. At the age of 10 her father made her do nude cartwheels to entertain the sailors. And at the age of 10 she married John smith, who was in his 40s. And she didn’t DECIDE ago get on the ship like the movie says. She was kidnapped and forced to act like the brits or whatever and basically showed around. She did find love (the man showed in the second movie) and had his 2 kids but never brought back home…
There is an old cartoon called the scarlet flower about this. There “belle” was allowed to go from the beast’s castle to stay with her family and she brought her sisters chests full of gleaming beautiful gifts. They with this got jealous of her riches and thought she didn’t deserve all these. They closed the windows so the girl doesn’t notice when the sunset occurs and so she comes way too late back to the castle.
That was their plan, yes. However, when she returned, the beast was dying because he was worried about her and missed her. I stand for the beast ;^; (he's a complete gentleman in the original story)

Thanks for telling the whole story 🥲
No problem! ^w^
In a way thats more sweet than I thought and yet it's still creepy...but at least he didn't kill her for returning back late
He is a true legend. 👌

I have a “Beauty and the Beast” storybook, it’s quite similar to the one your telling.
