The phrase, “God does not have the capacity” is incongruent with “His will will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

  • @paulmelonas7263

    Omnipotence does not mean "controlling."

  • @schmook9965

    Yeah right.

  • @isaiahrodgers5077

This video was a hard miss, and I don't even really get what he is trying to say here

  • @TheCruiseDog

    More crazy talk from Oord.

  • @csgabriella5658

I understand why he says. But it is splitting hairs, isn t it? God HAS every power and shares with us everything, no? The rest is peace. And love that remains ❤

  • @ninjonsupete3439

If God is not omnipotent then fate or luck itself rules even God. The very concept of inevitability would even effect God. God surely is almighty

  • @AndersHolmenScott

My guy, you can't be posting this and David Bentley Hart to support your position. These two guys couldn't possibly stand each other on this premise alone.

  • @kimlangford2574

Great video and finding deep value in working through Thomas' book which is both very scholarly and highly accessible.

  • @timothymartin9085

Oord is an apologist for secular arguments and is always trying to syncretize them with historic Christianity. This has been his whole career.

  • @stevenfrasier5718

Omnipotence = All Powerful = Almighty

  • @kbproweb

Perhaps he is approaching the question from the wrong direction. Is God limited or is the physical universe limited? If you limit God you limit spiritual reality too and that is highly presumptuous.

  • @DIBBY40

    Wonderful insight ❤

  • @bradleyhooper1408

    God is amipotent and omnipotent.

  • @user-my5ze3dm2s

How do you define love if you do not trust the Bible which defines love? You have to ignore many Scriptures that God is the creator if you believe it just happens by some natural process-evolution is anti-God. You have taken off the hinges upon which your door supposedly hangs.. that God is all powerful and his word is perfect purified 7 times.

  • @gweettoesan1864

    God is good.

  • @MrGBrooks9

    Excellent conclusions! 🎉

  • @thatevangarcia

    Good stuff right here

  • @Enlil-mj3wc

Thank you - Thomas Jay Oord - for your position and your intellectual work, which enables many people to uphold a positive and inspiring belief in God and intellectually and emotionally integrate their life experiences, including evil.

  • @Joe6pack4

AN alternative is that God created evil and uses it for His purpose. Isaih 45:7. God is not at fault for creating evil because He will bring all to salvation.
