You should remove the metal door from the kitchen to the hallway so the removal of the door will not destroy the plaster, if you remove it after it will destroy the plaster

Instead of making zig zag lines where you will put tiles,plaster it rough.Incase there will be discrepancy you will not re plaster it smooth
