This is episode two of my new "Alien: Stranded Dawn" playthrough. The settings are Insane difficulty, Desert Biome, and Jason Moon. Things get dangerous very fast in this episode!

They've helped me a few times. In the desert biome animals are not really bothersome, which is a great change.

Hay can be turned into cloth at a tailoring bench I believe.
I would observe the native desert trees so you don't have such small areas where they grow well. (The ones that aren't growing next to water.)
Maybe let them sleep under a roof from the beginning (they get -9 when not) by placing 2 shelters opposite of each other and 1 tile in between to put the campfire? By researching metal alloys before flamethrowers and not constructing the room but expanding the killzone I think you could have dealt with that first attack way better.
Keep a better look on your food and when an attack is eminent check them all for rest and fulness.

Agreed. Dropping a couple edible crops would help long-term as well.
Hilarious to knock out your guy for crying… I am not sure it made the breakdown any faster. I am always too worried about their needs so insane difficulty to me is very stressful. I survived 2,5 years on chaos moon and then the 100 hummingflies came. I am not sure if I try that again.
But maybe I will try insane again with a different moon with more scavenging and less farming from the start to have a better luck with guns and cpu:s so I would not have to survive 2 years mainly with just spears and crossbows.
