    Clarification:
    | Regarding COVID-19 |
During 2020, a majority of the filming for “Reframing the Story” was shot in a lightened restrictions phase of COVID-19. Insight for Living Ministries (IFLM) and Reframing Ministries (RM) media staff took necessary health precautions when filming the interviews with Toban Thompson, Colleen Swindoll-Thompson, and Jonathan Swindoll-Thompson. Media staff were respectful to adhere to social distancing, took the appropriate precautions during filming, and ensured that all staff were feeling healthy and had no symptoms of illness before filming began.
    | Regarding Sensitive Information |
While being interviewed over her family’s history and the creation of Reframing Ministries, IFLM and RM staff recognized that there would be sensitive content shared in the presence of Jonathan, who sits in the background during his mother’s interview. IFLM and RM staff ensured that Jonathan was wearing earphones for the entire duration of Colleen’s interview, and that he had long-form content playing on his device while Colleen was discussing sensitive information. Jonathan’s earphones can be noticed by the white line accented on the right side of his face in Colleen’s interview.
As presented in the documentary, there have been several traumatic events that have occurred in Jonathan's life. For legal reasons, please refrain from pursuing methods of attaining greater amounts of personal information from IFLM and/or RM.

This is the second time I've watched your story and I'm so touched by it again! And I'm so encouraged by it, I haven't had the type of pain and loss you have but I've sure had my own version of it and see what you've gone through is just encouraging to me to know that God is faithful and that our walk is meant to just keep getting up and keep fighting all the adversities in his strength! God bless you!

Dearest Colleen , Jonathan is beautiful. I never knew Pastor Swindolls daughter went through severe domestic violence like me....thank you for sharing. The church also judged me when I wanted to get out of the marriage. He eventually was able to use the children as weapons of war and I went through parental alienation. There are no words to explain the depth of the pain of the groanings. You validated this. The CPTSD took over my life. God had his hand on me. He opened doors in very high places only HE could. I worked at the UN fior the YMCA of the world in Geneva as a delegate for Violence against Women and my eyes were opened...today I am confronting legally and criminally my country and an Ambassador for sexual.assault I also experienced to make changes and confront systems that protect perpetrators. God never wastes our pain, but it has been very difficult, but I was always able to carry on with God's mercy grace and strength. He never abandoned me like my church family and country did. Thank you sister .You encouraged me.Your Dad also was my Dad who helped me so much from afar with his books and sermons.. You're amazing!..Thank you Jesus

I feel ripped off too!! And I think I am fighting feeling of bitterness! But I'm so inspired by you. This is the second time I've watched your story and of course once again I have cried. I'm still stuck but I find hope in your hardship. You made it despite it all!

What a raw yet beautiful collection of your life pieced together... bringing glory to God through the roughest of circumstances! I'm touched by your vulnerability and transparency! Thank you for sharing! I too was a Pastor's wife, in a similar situation. I will write to you more in a private conversation. We share some common struggles and heartaches in life! I agree, it's the hardest when you have no one to share with...and the church can be brutal. I am so sorry for your past struggles...yet I only "know" you because of Reframing Ministries. I am so thankful God has used you in such a mighty way! Out of the ashes....you're His beauty! There's more to come...I'm sure!

Thank you for your tender words. I am so sorry you have been hurt and are enduring trials. Please reach out when you desire; you don’t have to endure alone. Also, I pray that you are not wounded even more … ministry, as you said, can be tragically brutal. I often refer to a book written years ago by Gene Edwards called, “A Tale of Three Kings”. It’s been retitled, but can be found under the author’s name. Also, my book “Reframing Life-Focusing on God when Life Get’s Sideways” is a calming read, has places for you to journal, reflect, and encouragement as you ‘reframe’ what you are enduring. You can find the book here: store.insight.org/p-1705-reframing-life-focusing-on-god-when-life-gets-sideways-emby-colleen-swindoll-thompsonem.aspx . Sending prayers your way my friend. - Colleen

A Tale of Three Kings was life changing for me. What a great book to recommend. I’m sure we all learn different things from the story. For me it was David’s commitment to trust God with providing Justice. David did not attack mad king Saul tho he had many opportunities. He trusted justice in his life to God. God is the one who put the longing for Justice in our hearts. He promises it, ultimately.
Colleen, I have so much admiration for you. What a tender heart you have for others. For you ladies that have survived this abuse from the very one who was to be the Shepherd of your family AND your church makes me applaud your bravery and compassion even more.
He will not forget this and your efforts will truly be rewarded.
      God bless you both.
      ❤❤❤❤

Similar threats to me also. I have been single, but I am the Bride of Christ since 1994. I also have my disabled son living with me and I also take my brother who lives in a foster home to the doctor, etc. He has never been diagnosed, but it is similar to adult aspergers syndrome. Verbal and physical abuse with my marriages. Now in my 70's, I am finally healing. Thank you for Reframing Ministries.

Your words, are my life. Just recently, I have been led to start listening to your father after finding a few of his books in my parents library. This has been the road God has provided so I could fund you to hear this testimony. Thank you so much …I look forward to as many testimony’s as I can find.

In 80s no one in church where I was wanted to hear about domestic violence, so when . I left in 94 was not treated with warmth no one understood but a new pastor did said h e was relieved I did not go back to that man. Divorce is not easy as saints we should practice understanding and the love of God for persons having gone through heartaches not judgement thank you so much Colleen
