Saw the Musical Box Re-Create the Lamb in front of 5,000 people at the Playhouse Square Theatre. The length at which this stellar Genesis Tribute Band "Musical Box" will go, to re-create authentic era Genesis is amazing. A must see live act.
This is AWESOME! Didn't know Danny was a PG era Genesis fan. His shirt in question is probably a nod to the one Bruford used to wear at the live Genesis gigs, which would indicate Danny's an all-around Genesis fan. In 2002 in LA after PG's UP show at the Staples Center, there was an after party at The Hotel Figueroa. My girlfriend and I were hoping to meet PG going in, but he took some secret back entrance and I missed him, but the rest band showed up in a limo out front and I had a chance to talk to Tony Levin before he went in. He was super cool. I hung around outside like loser for a bit, hoping for a chance to get in, and saw exiting the party Robbie Robertson, Ridley Scott, Adam Jones and Danny Carey. I talked with Danny for a few minutes and he was very nice down to earth. Never thought to ask if he was a Genesis fan too. Makes sense after all. This is a great pairing of a a great song. So cool this happened!
Yeah, TMB recreate the old shows perfectly. Genesis have actually donated some of their old stage sets to them. Peter used to take his kids to see TMB, and Phil once got up on stage and played a few tracks with them in Munich (I think) I saw them touring Selling England by the Pound some years back, and they were incredible.

I see this video is at least 3 years old and its funny that when introducing Danny Carey the singer mentions Tool is coming out with a new album "soon". In the music world "soon " has a different time frame, in this case 2 years or more. Glad this popped up on my feed. Loved it.

They’re local boys from my hometown. Genesis ruled in Quebec in the 70’s. Saw the original shows in early ‘70s and TMB in ´94. Danny sitting in with TMB is icing on the cake.
Looking forward to Danny Carey playing the Bruford parts in Beat (instead of just his trademark Bruins B muscle shirt). He will have then played with his main band Tool of course and then a Genesis and King Crimson "cover" bands.
How freaking tall is that dude? He looks like an NFL linebacker! But props to the Musical Box - I've seen them live - just a great show for us who never saw Genesis live back in those days. They really are superb!
That’s not Danny’s kit? It looks like a little kids kit? Very glad I found this! Love PG Genesis & Danny! The rest of the band sound great too! Too bad Danny is suffering a ward drove malfunction the whole time?
Are you a fan of Danny Carey? You must not be because if you saw his drum kit when he performs with his band Tool? You would know that he towers over anyone else’s kit. Danny is not a little person at 6’5” tall. Plus he is very muscular person. He fits his kit in Tool. I’m no percussionist, however from what I have read & seen? He has a very large percussion set up. I read that his kit is soo heavy it is not portable for overseas shows? Plus the cost is the the range of what some people pay for a house. The drum shells are made of melted down cymbals. Both bass drums have to weigh a ton? Then there are all the floor toms and his gong. I’m guessing he is such a powerful drummer that his kit has to withstand the entire show from movement? I’m in awe watching him perform every time he is seen in public.
Everyone to me & Danny are little people. I stand 3” taller than Danny. Your absolutely right about him being a guest. One easy song for him was a true pleasure.
