If I’m being honest I think this is about rin wanting to grow up but also about missing childhood memories (the bear = her childhood) which she has been pulling apart for a while now hesitantly not wanting to destroy it. Because of the stress of this decision she runs away from home. Rin feels it’s her fault for not growing up sooner. Soon she realises that under all this stress she has been destroying herself. She reluctantly destroys her bear (symblising her growing up) and painfully loses her happiness This could have been caused by seeing her older siblings mature or people at school laughing at her for still holding onto her bear (the classroom scenes)

And in the end, they aren’t themselves anymore, they’re just an amalgamation of what they thought others wanted them to be, and even then, it doesn’t work. Despite all that they’ve done to make themselves perfect, they aren’t anything special; they can easily be replaced.

I’ve always thought this song was about a boy who was verbally and physically abused by the people around him. He wanted to be loved so badly he started sewing a teddy bears limbs onto his own, in hope to become one. Since everybody likes teddy bears, he thought he would be loved if he became one. This continued until he didn’t have a functioning body anymore, and regretted what he did. The people around him thought he was mentally ill, (which he was) and caused more misfortune for him. In another English translation of this song there’s a repeated line “tell me I don’t need anything but my brain”. I think it’s saying that because the boy wants to replace all of his body parts with a stuffed toy’s, and needs only his brain to function. He eventually regrets his decision of becoming a stuffed toy, and accepts his life without ever being praised in any way. Apparently my theory is wrong? 😅 it’s about a girl who doesn’t want to mature, and the teddy bear represents childhood.

Is this song about drug addiction? A lot of the lyrics sound like it. The most obvious being "Aah, can never get enough of the right stuff", but others like "Needles oversized to pulverize this heart beating out my chest" or "So say I’m fine and clear my mind " sound like a reference to heroin needles and family telling them to just stop when it's not that easy. Or "Measure out the size of it, sure, any pattern will do" could be talking about the drugs, they're too addicted to care about how much they're taking. The hospital could also be a rehab center, or something.

I’ve always thought this song was about a boy who was verbally and physically abused by the people around him. He wanted to be loved so badly he started sewing a teddy bears limbs onto his own, in hope to become one. Since everybody likes teddy bears, he thought he would be loved if he became one. This continued until he didn’t have a functioning body anymore, and regretted what he did. The people around him thought he was mentally ill, (which he was) and caused more misfortune for him. In another English translation of this song there’s a repeated line “tell me I don’t need anything but my brain”. I think it’s saying that because the boy wants to replace all of his body parts with a stuffed toy’s, and needs only his brain to function. He eventually regrets his decision of becoming a stuffed toy, and accepts his life without ever being praised in any way. Apparently my theory is wrong? 😅 it’s about a girl who doesn’t want to mature, and the teddy bear represents childhood.

Is this song about drug addiction? A lot of the lyrics sound like it. The most obvious being "Aah, can never get enough of the right stuff", but others like "Needles oversized to pulverize this heart beating out my chest" or "So say I’m fine and clear my mind " sound like a reference to heroin needles and family telling them to just stop when it's not that easy. Or "Measure out the size of it, sure, any pattern will do" could be talking about the drugs, they're too addicted to care about how much they're taking. The hospital could also be a rehab center, or something.
