Every time I watch a boiler room set I think, If it were in Chicago people would be bouncing off the walls, like, you know, actually dancing, including the (Chicago) DJ! My kind of town, I love you! Gene Farris LEGEND.
I gotta say... I love how few phones I saw through this whole set. People are getting down and dancing... not motionlessly staring at the DJ and not dicking around with their 'I'm doing a cool thing in a cool place' snapchat stories. This was awesome.
I think this is a full track list, let me know if corrections are needed. 00:00:00 Cajmere - Percolator (Jamie Jones Vault Remix) 00:05:00 Amine Edge & DANCE - Halfway Crooks 00:09:00 Eddie Amador - House Music 00:13:00 Basment Jaxx - Flylife Extra 00:17:00 Maceo Plex - Conjure Sex 00:21:00 Green Velvet - Preacher Man (Green Velvet Rework/ 2012 Remix) 00:27:00 Steve Silk HUrley - Jack Your Body (Doorly Club Rub) 00:31:00 Justin Martin & Ardalan - Function 00:35:00 Gene Farris - Move Your Body 00:39:00 Paolo Rocco Feat. Gramaphone Records is one of the Last vinyl record stores on the planet.they also have a very friendly staff.I've been going there since 1992. Big ups to Gramaphone Records!!!...Long Live Vinyl!!!
Gene and Cajamere are Chicago Dynamic duo :) young brother and sister of of chi follow ur roots we just got some bad ,bad house djs that the haters can't touch ,,, new york an the rest of them back up this is a real place real people we do vinyl and digital ,, real house music with soul , so do get it twisted.. we don't hate we take innnnnn peace !!!! chi up
Not gonna lie I FUCKING LOVE GENE FARRIS he makes straight up house and it's quality, no tricks, no Latin, no jazz none of this half house shit from people who aren't happy making and playing house they want to turn it into something else but do an ineffective job and ruin multiple genres at the same time. It always sounds fucking shit. Gene Farris makes top notch house music. God love him
Robert Fiedler fuck those haters who apparently dick count n never had the honor of feeling that underground funk n unified grooves the Chicago house scene holds world famous but will never be copied. I’m honestly honored to have been a Midwest scene true fan in the later 90s til 2008 . He had to play on CDJ's because some trickster hung all is records from the ceiling before he got there! (great set and Gene Farris can play whatever he wants to play on!)...I love this crowd btw, they LOVE it!!
i agree 100% *record bags are so heavy....and many of these old school hard core Dj say they have lost crates over the years!? IDK how but they said it to be true; thats why i think**
passion4house AMEN,! I learned to mix with vinyl n I hate when people act like only real djs use vinyl.. cdjs and mp3js are more efficient, practical and multi layered mixes don’t require all my attention . Sure I still will n can use vinyl but it’s just unnecessary, This set is badass without em right lol
@@RawhouseRecords773 I agree with you. I hate that digital bullshit. Speak for yourself, I still play with vinyl. Dj's today are lazy and all sound the same because of digital. When it was just vinyl that separated the men from the boys.
djbhe you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Going out in the vinyl era you’d hear the same records 2/3 times a night. Everyone was buying the same tunes from the same labels. So few people could afford to set up labels and get stuff pressed. You have this bullshit dream notion of what it was like and you couldn’t be more wrong.
I love seeing Chicago DJ's in the Boiler Room!
⁰⁰
CHICAGO (THE KING OF HOUSE MUSIC) ...... PERIOD......
Everywhere else stands and watch. Chicago dances!

Bryan Oswalt is this dj Farris from 92.3?
Great funky crowd! I concur; legend dj...surrounded by wax. Should've rocked the SL-12o0'S and pay homage to the store!!

This set gets me hype!
In Chicago house music just hits different
mixing is clean.. awesome set
Trust me Gene can rock on Tables as well as he does CDJ's... I have seen him spinning vinyls
I know he can rock the tables...I was just saying that considering he was in a vinyl store it would have been a nice homage to the context. Cheers!
Great lines from Farris on the wheels
Nice mixing
Love this tracklist :D
Excellent set ! J'adore
"Gene Farris - Move Your Body" BEST one

How are the acoustics in a place like that. The sound seems to jump everywhere. BADASS SET THO!

Which remix of Mobb Deep - Shook Ones PT2 is at the beggining???
Pretty anthem rich set here. Gene was going for a "straight peak hour, turn that shit up to 11" vibe.
