I live in the ground floor flat that has a gas boiler, there are 4floors above me,how can you test boiler flue that is in a concrete sharft up to the roof with no access, what would you do? Great channel to watch.
You're doing a gas safety check, I would say checking the gas pipework for leaks or if the ecv is letting by to be quite important lol, it's strange it's not required.
@@garethjones4048 arrr fair enough. When I’m sweeping a kebab heat exhanger, let’s say on a Worcester. I just run my probe around whilst monitoring the co and o2 etc.
It is 20.9 orrrrr, whatever your analyser shows in fresh outside air. So my analyser in clean air always shows 20.6% so if this was the change when inserted in the flue air sampling point, I’d know there was an issue. Hope that helps frank
@@Heatking a few lads I work with do that, but in the MIs there's actually no need to adjust, unless your ratio is above 0.004 , you've confirmed the integrity of the flue and the gas rate is correct. I’ve always said it there’s one thing u must ALWAYS do on a GAS SAFETY check is a tightness test🙄I’ve never understood why they say u dont have to🤷♂️ I personally have never given a certificate without doing one as its my name on it🤷♂️ imagine if gas board get called a month after YOUVE done a gas safety and find a leak you’d look a right c&nt 😂😂 great vid as usual mate👌
@@Heatking I know what would the landlord who paid u and the Tennant who thinks your there to keep them safe say if they had a gas leak after a check🤯🤯 merry new year to u and yours anyway bud hope it’s a goodun🤞
As Part of the landlords Act, basically you must check the integrity of the gas line. Service is where you dont have to supposedly. But if your carrying out 'work' by checking the WP at the meter by undoing the test nipple point, then you need to do a TT, as LDF is crap when its detcting a 0.3 mbar drop on pipework which we all know isnt allowed. Too many grey areas which really annoys me, as if theres a gas leak, your going to be making good money finding it, so i dont understand why people dont do TT all the time as i do it and charge big money if there is one.
I thought they knocked doing tt as requirement for landlord tickets couple years back , but agreed tt is belt n braces no point in ever skipping for the 5 mins that it takes peace of mind
My gas inspector told me on a visit to never tightness test on a service unless your asked to specifically, he said if you find a leak outside of the tolerance and need to cap off supply, you can be made by gassafe to perform the remedial work at your expense if you were not asked to check for leaks. Could be a sticky one if you turned off supply to a vulnerable person who had no means to pay for the necessary work
Very nice and detailed video. Loving the mix up of videos. Also my man rocking that cool hoodie I see you!! 😮 Thank you again for your hard work and here is me wishing you and your family a very happy new year ahead
I always thinks its odd you can point out to landlord all the minor faults note them down like bonding etc but if its not id they dont have to do naff all about it
Non compliant PRV pipework there mate, those mactun's have it printed on them not for PRV use as they melt if PRV goes full retard on them. Happy new year
Didn’t know that Paul! Thank you! I normally use hotuns so I’m not sure why I’ve used this version here, unless it was already on. Cant remember now. Happy new year buddy!!
Please like this video. Sorry it’s a bit different to my usual. This is a one off. Also… have I missed anything.. let me know 🎉
Really informative I always do a working and standing pressure at meter and test CO alarms but spot on
Cheers mate!
Nice to be home and back in the UK and watch one of my favourite RUclips creators . Have a great day Dan.
Thank you mate. Have a good oneb
Hi. Thanks for your great videos. I normally do gas rate and, inlet and working pressure too. it is part of 26.9 reg I remember.
Cheers buddy!! Good technique to follow too 🙏🏽
Always used to do a soundness test . Happy new year Dan
Happy new year mate!!
Fully agree with doing a tightness test Dan, great video. Hope you have a great 2024 👏👏
Thanks Andy! All the best mate!
Awesome man helped me out massively be doing this on my ACS in the next couple of months 🤞🏻
Cheers buddy’ best of luck
With it mate! 🙏🏽

Are you using gas analyzer for tightness testing? This model has that feature?
Yes and yes 🙏🏽

I’ll have to post a video on this. Rather than write it in a comment as it’s quite a long winded one. But comes under communal fluing 🙏🏽

It’s weird isn’t it what’s no required 😂😂
Hi mate, I have a Kane 358 too, can you sweep burner seals etc looking for rise in CO.?.. great videos , lots of jobbing like myself . Cheers
Yes you can, you can do it with any analyser mate. 👍🏼
The 458 has got a feature regarding g CO what the 358 hasn't. Thanks mate

20.6 for flue integrity. I have always understood it to be 20.9. Could you clarify from your books what it should be.
It is 20.9 orrrrr, whatever your analyser shows in fresh outside air. So my analyser in clean air always shows 20.6% so if this was the change when inserted in the flue air sampling point, I’d know there was an issue. Hope that helps frank
20.9% is the natural amount of oxygen in the atmosphere, and 20.6% is the minimum allowed for flue integrity in order to get complete combustion 👍
Movement on let by with digital manometer is 0.2mbar
Do you adjust the gas valve on every check?
I only adjust the gas valve if they’re not in tolerance mate. 🙏🏽
