Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Both the video and you.
Ahh, thank you so much! That’s so kind of you, and it’s greatly appreciated!
Happy New Year!
Happy new year!
Thank you! Happy New Year!
Oh gosh, thanks so much Bob. WHat a lovely way to end a trying year! Have a great 2024. Grimmish was in my top reads of the year, a sort of unofficial winner as I don't order them.
The pleasure is all mine! Hands down one of the most joyous and brain-ticklingly fun reading experiences of the year!
And yes, Grimmish is such a wild beast of a book and it was just so much fun!
P.S. Here’s to a better 2024!
Your emotion over Leonard and Hungry Paul was wonderful! I love The Year of Magical Thinking, and I've been meaning to read a Nick Drnaso book for a while.
Thank you so much! It really crept up on me!
Ooh, Sabrina is soooooo good if you can get hold of it!
You described Leonard and Hungry Paul brilliantly! I love that book so much. Glad to see Marc’s book here. He deserves a much wider readership.
Thank you so much! And yes, Marc really does some remarkable and innovative things with writing, and I kind of feel that we’re all just catching up with him!
A big yes to showing emotion for Leonard and hungry Paul! Happy new year !
Yes! I can’t believe how much the emotional weight of that book still hits me after all these months, but such a brilliant book. And happy new year!
This was a strangely touching video Bob. You spoke beautifully about these books particularly Leonard and Hungry Paul and Marc's Death of an Author.
Thank you! And yes, Leonard just sneaks up on me! I think I’m fine and then I get weepy thinking about the beauty of it all. Marc’s book is a dream too (it’s hard to get hold of, so let me know if you want my copy!)
@@BobTheBookerer yes it was a fiddle to order but I did and read it back in June. But thank for the generous thought. I owe you a book I think.
I’ve immediately ordered Leonard & Hungry Paul from the library. Now a must read book although I hadn’t heard of it. Thank you! I’m going to watch this again to let the rest of the books sink in. What a list!
Yay! I hope you like it! It’s such a treasure!
Happy New Year Bob 🎉❤🍀🤩🥳I include a big squeezy virtual hug from your Irish auntie 😍🤗😘
Happy New Year! And thank you so much! Right back at you! ❤️
Another great list - thanks for all your videos this year. Particularly appreciated you going back over the past Booker shortlists
Ahh, thank you so much for watching along this year, and for your lovely words!
I have Leonard and Hungry Paul on my reading cart; I am determined to get to it soon. I've also heard the Didion book referenced so many times; I need to add it to my TBR.
Oooh, I hope you like them both!
Grimmish representation, huge! Happy New Year Bob!
Yes! Such a fun and underrated book!
Happy New Year! Have a great 2024!
long time viewer....first time commentator...also a writer...and im thrilled you included Marc's book, which i loved too...i introduced him to the publisher of CoronaSz and im hoping hoping he will send my fave canadian publisher, Coachouse, who also published Grimmish (brilliant book)...i agree, marc deserves a wider readership.....i love all his work and as a person, he is just the best--we had a lovely walk looking for Marx original grave in Highgate cememtary when i was in london in november....anyway, congrates Bob....from one Bob to Another Bob, HAPPY NEW YEAR!...cheers, bob
Hello! And thank you so much for this lovely comment (and for watching!)
He’s such a hero, and that sounds like a lovely day! Have a fantastic new year, and I hope 2024 is a good one for you!
@@BobTheBookerer you too Bob....love your channel--and I dont watch much RUclips...happy new Bob....have a great year and great year of reading.--all the best, bob
i look forward to hearing about the books you meet in 2024...i don't think i relish odd books but one weird experience for me was reading 'lights out for the territory" by iain sinclair and being captivated by the author's voice despite not being able to understand much of what he was saying..can't wait to hear his voice again.
Thank you! And oooh, interesting- I’ve not heard of that at all, but I’ll check it out! Thanks!
@@BobTheBookerer i really hope you do and review it so i can add a bit to my comprehension of why i love him!
You know it's a great book when it catches you up months later and that one of the reasons I adore your channel...another is I learn of books I have not heard before like Marzhan....which just went on my Audible list. Happy New Year 💚
Aha, yes, I had no idea it still hit me so much! And thank you so much for your lovely words! I hope you enjoy Marzahn!
Happy New Year!
