Hiyah....The difficulty people who don't know our native language Gaeilge (pronounced GWALE-GEH), is that they always use the English language and alphabet as a basis for pronunciation. That will never work. Gaeilge is a much older language than English so it's alphabet and pronunciations were formed many many hundreds of years before English was even a language,so they have absolutely no original linguistics in common. There are only 18 letters in Gaeilge, (no J, K, Q, V, W, X, Y or Z letters), so therefore letters are combined together to form certain sounds or for male, female, singular or plural grammatical purposes. There are also accents used in Gaeilge which always seem to be missed. These are used above vowels to maker certain vowels either broader or slender in sound. Oh another thing, there is no soft C in Gaeilge, only a hard C like the letter K. and the letter S is almost always an SH sound. How is that for a very basic crash course in the native Irish language. Hope your head isn't spinning lol🙂🙂

Wow. I think that will take a few reads to sort of figure out. But amazing and thank you!

Rain and wind are two almost daily features of Ireland. If you ride the "Wild Atlantic Way" the scenery is spectacular IF the weather allows. Ceide Fields should be pronounced something like K - De or K - the, the Irish language "Gaelic" was beaten into me in school but it didn't take......ride safe brother.

Oh my yes. I had a heck of a time figuring that one out. Love that country though and it just means I'll have to go back to get to the places that were closed. Thanks for watching!!!

Thats amazing, I am very envious. Living there looks like a dream sometimes. I'm sure there are down sides too but your Island and ability to access the mainland Europe just seems so perfect. Thank you again for watching! this has become a bit of a project getting an episode a week out and now that I'm rounding the corner to the end, I'll have to try and fit a new adventure in. Of course there is always that aweful job thing I have to work around. Fingers crossed I'll get a chance.

Such a shame you were here this 'Summer', you can never predict what kind of Summer's we'll get. An example, on July 15th this year I was sitting outside with friends having a beer and nearly had hypothermia! The next day, I'd sunburn after a day on Mac Dara's Island near Carna in Connemara! love your commentary and videos. August this year was the best, one day was actually too hot to ride!

I think the whole planet is having strange changing weather pattern this year. I was there the first and second week of May in an effort to beat the real tourist crowds. The unfortunate side effect was the unpredictable weather. But honestly, I loved every minute of it. If it were not for my recent heart condition issues, I'm sure I would have pushed on in many cases but for this being my first time doing this sort of thing, I decided to play it safe in some cases. thank you for watching and for commenting. I am really enjoying this part of the process and interacting with everyone. Please feel free to share and fingers crossed, I'll make some short videos like the one I posted this week about our Niagara Region until I can go on the next adventure. Cheers and have a fresh Guinness for me.

@@Beemerider Yeh you were right about the wind this 'Summer' I've taken a battering all through Summer and that's just riding in Connemara, maybe 'cause we are on the coast we get more than the midlands or East coast? But we definitely got more rain and high winds than previous years. Next time you are in Ireland drop by!
