I’m so glad I saw this video A real review of everyday use I’ve always wanted the thermador star burners because all the reviews from the appliance stores always tout the star design and even heat of the pan Now that you have shown it’s really not worth it as it burns pots and food I also use the small pots for our family of 4, and would definitely have burn marks as well I wish more reviews of high end oven ranges were available like yours
Yeah…1st.. this oven SHOULD NOT be in this kitchen… no disrespect, but they’re designed to be professionally installed in a proper space, so the gap you’ve got isn’t the ranges fault… 2nd…ALL professional ovens like this take time to preheat.. I know it may seem frustrating, but even wall ovens take 15+ mins to reach temps in the 400+ range… and the timers aren’t great, I’ll grant you that… but that small screen shouldn’t be solely what you rely on… finally…. You’ve got a $5 pot on an 18,000btu burner on med heat… you’re going to get hot spots… higher quality pots or Dutch ovens don’t have this problem… no trying to be a buzzkill or a jerk, but you replaced an aged 500$ stove with a 9-10,000$ stove..?? You probably should’ve gotten a cheaper kitchen-aid or Jenn-air…you would’ve gotten better results and saved a ton of money…
Some of this is very fair - I wish you had been our salesperson because a Jenn-Air probably is the perfect option! Truly, no matter how thick bottomed the pot, even cast iron and a $70 high quality pot, the sides of the pot get burned. The sides! Just so much heat wasted.
The unit should be able to be set flush with the back wall - wonder if your electrical and/or gas lines are impacting installation. All updated information is on their spec sheet online.
Yes, you're right, our gas line is in the way. It was just frustrating that an inexpensive stove was adaptable enough to go around it but the expensive one wasn't. Luckily it's been 2 years now and I haven't seen anything fall back there yet... The expense of moving the gas line wasn't worth it.
Returning a stove of this size and price isn't like returning a shirt to Amazon, sadly. We're STILL in conversation with the place we bought it about getting something else, but it's multiple thousands of dollars more, so again - no small decision. I'm SO glad this was helpful! Go with Wolf all the way!!! :)
Run as fast as you can away from this oven. Since Covid Thermador has imploded. We ordered one of these in April 2023, it was eventually delivered in September and promptly shot sparks and smoke out the top on 1st powerup. DOA return from dealer. 2nd unit arrived in November ! rolled the pallet onto the porch unboxed it got it off the pallet and it had been dropped or smashed at the factory so bad the bottom door wouldn't open. They took it off and it was so damaged the rails inside had let lose all the bb bearings all over the inside of the oven. It was trashed. Even though the pallet and box were PERFECT. From April till today (1st of DEC) we haven't had an oven. Thanksgiving cooked in the microwave. Thermador won't even call me or respond. But my Monogram will be here next week. Thermador has been the worst consumer experience I've ever had buying a product.
I’m sorry to hear that your experience with Thermador has been so bad. It’s so frustrating when companies don’t treat customers well especially after all the problems you've had with their product. I hope you get a positive resolution in the end (quickly!)
It is a flawed oven. Have many of the same complaints. Love the XLo settings. Use the app to set the temp to something other than an integer of 25 degrees. Their customer service sucks
🔥🔥🖐👎🏻 We have all Thermador appliances for over ten years (fridge, oven, gas range, microwave. They look nice but are always breaking down, very expensive to service and replace. Thermador customer service is consistently horrible and offers no tech help or suggestions over phone except to immediately say they can arrange a service call. Terrible brand from a terrible company. Look elsewhere!

Why not return it shortly after getting it? It’s between the Wolf, and this Thermador for me. Your video has been helpful for me making this decision.

it's actually pretty ugly there are far better looking gas stoves out there
All pro ranges look alike to me. Square, stainless steel, and heavy grates.
