Great podcast 👌 I'm clean from an 8 year IV meth addiction since April. There's a song by pat the bunny with a line in it which says "took the needle out of my arm about a year ago today... Every day since then I've been taking the needle out of my brain" It's hard to get your mind to catch up to where your body is. But it's also incredibly worth it. I never hit rock bottom - I guess I was lucky in a way.... But I broke my leg and decided to use that as the catalyst to make the past the past and create a new future. I reconnected with my family, I spend so much time with my little nephew, I refuse to let my sister down and not be there to help out again..... I'll always be there for them now. I have one close friend who stayed my friend while I was using, even though I was a cooked mess.... And she's still my only friend now. I have a long way to go. My biggest saviour tbh - was doing the DBT workbook. Emotional regulation has been the key to staying in this mindset 100% Everyone's different, but that was the best thing for me. Talking about this stuff on a public forum is so important, thank you for doing it 🙏
My drinking brought me to the gates of HELL.18 years sober now & its great to be free.Everyday i was out of my head I wanted to die,everyday I'm sober I want to live,as simple as that.Well done lads for talking about addiction, this podcast will help alot of people.
