Yeah I’ve noticed how his demeanor changes the first bad throw. On a side note we did get to hear all the camera settings on Paul’s backswing and he still crush it lol I can’t hate Simon too much because he’s arguing for less ball courses and more strategic course with choices and allowing players to go low. I just wish it wasn’t so much great Atticus having a blast as long as every shot it amazing.
I love how Simon and Paul are still filming together, and it feels like I’m watching a father-son duo😂 I love these vibes and love to see both Paul and Simon grow!
I used to play a lot before probably most of you were born. I haven't played for the last 20+ years but recently a course opened up 1/2 mile away from my house and I'm getting back into it. Obviously Simon is world class but the putting is unreal! I've come to realise I absolutely suck at putting. Needs work!
Love this new course! Have played Hillside a few times and it's just filled with tons of fun shots! Surprisingly open, great variety, somehow more than half the course feels like your throwing fun downhill drives. The guys building it have put in a ton of work in and they're adding fast. This place is already one of my favorites to play in the greater Boston area, and they're putting in a Gold Layout!
I played this course maybe 3 months ago and tis crazy how much better it looks now. Kudos to the people working on this course, looking forward to going back!
Thanks - there’s a crew that has put in a to. Of hours to make the course better - more changes to come (including red and gold tees)…and the town staff also deserve a lot of credit for embracing it!
Great video as always. BUT...Shot of the Day!!! Way to go Amelia! Got her first ace at a local tournament, a great kid, up and an up-and-coming young player!
Loved the shot of the day. I saw her dad share it on the MVP FB fan page first and he was SO proud! Super cool to see. I absolutely love playing with my kids
I like the difficulty of the course. It's easy for a higher-level player, not discouraging for a beginner or lower-level one, and mid-level players need to play very well to score consistently. I feel like that isn't a level you see often enough. It's the kind of course where you can bring a mixed-skill group and still have a lot of fun. Looks like there's some room to add a few long pins going forward to give a higher challenge.
Also, I'm not sure the new faster zoom is an upgrade. There were a couple of times it was too fast and made me queasy for a second. Video quality was great otherwise!
Fun to see Simon’s enthusiasm for the game in the offseason. Sometimes these blogs feel like the goal of his year. Goes to prove a good round or even a good shot puts a big smile on pros and new players alike. Just like Richard Hammond playing ball golf with his daughter this week.
SO FUNNY how Simon is obsessed with all the camera settings while filming Paul, who has a eyerolling energy about it! Always fun to follow along u guys' rounds
Picture quality does look a bit better. Color especially. Not to say it was bad before, but those bigger sensors do make things look better, dynamic range is usually improved too.
Awesome job to the guys putting the course in. I have only been playing for three years now and have designed and installed two courses in Ontario. Hanover disc golf course is the newest one. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to design and install a course. It takes patientce and determination but also a willingness to learn. I tried to bring in as many people as i could to give me thoughts on the course design before the installation. Some thoughts were good and other thoughts i knew would not be good for the course. But my hat goes off to the guys at hillside. Great job.
Camera looks great! I just started watching the vlogs a few months ago and they're so fun to watch. Love seeing all the course variety. Keep up the great work!
i play there alot. i love this course. hole 11 and 14 def my favorites. I started playing disc golf in July and its amazing to see how goid these guys throw.
hole 1 green - completely agree with Simon. Also, I don't mind if a part or half the green is blocked off so you have to place your approach shot on a particular side to have a real putt.
Simon, would love to see you make a trip to Lake Marshall in Montross VA! It was played for the Silver Series in 2022 and I’d love to see what you think of the property!
New England, I’m in England, so so similar to where I live, only difference is the leaves have dropped in New England, our leaves in my part of England haven’t dropped as of yet, think they normally have but still mild and no sign of frost etc😊
Like the new camera & lens. Does a much better job of staying focused on you when you're doing selfie closeups of yourself. Also does a much better job of following the discs in the air. Color and rez look good at full-screen. It had its moments of losing focus. But, I think over time, you'll figure it out. I think there are some tracking options that would take care of some of those soft moments. All in all, a noticeable difference for the good.
MVP Black Hole Portal baskets. Yes. My favorite basket . Simon's Course Mile Marker 63 has the same baskets. Hope our soon to be course will have 19 Portals as well.
Maybe they'll add pro tee pads or pro basket options in the future. What a cool looking course. You both played impressively. Simon, you're the man! Paul, you got robbed a little on those 2 eagle putts, but you still played great!
it's a great course. They're already planning a pro-level layout, as well as a short rec layout. They have so much space on this property to make a truly amazing course.
ZV-E1 is the same sensor as the A7SIII which is legendary full frame. Full frame sensors have better low light performance and that 12MP sensor has a fast readout so you’ll see less wobbles when you spin the camera around to talk to the camera. The 24-240 is good for zoom… but at the full end of the zoom you’re at a f6.3 which is pretty stopped down (not great for low light). But at least you have a good sensor now to combat that. Honestly, I’d rather see you use the 24-70 f2.8 and film in 4K. You get the 70mm zoom while staying at f2.8 but with the clean 4K, you can punch in 200% in edit and still be 1080p resolution.
I'd love it if Simon did a video (or a few) with or without another pro (or a few) in a completely different course, somewhere in Europe WHEN TOURING. Not even close to like a European Open course but in the same country. Like travelling to Eastern (or middle, just somewhere) Finland (European Open happens in Southern Finland) and just playing a course that he isn't going to play on tour or in the States. I loved the video from a German course.
Build a course, invite a couple of 1,000 players in, take their advice and make it better. The course looked great for weekend players like me, though. Nice holes left and right, some trees and open fairways. Nothing impossible but still challenging. Big arms can go for it, armatures like me can still lay up and hope for a birdie look.
Simon, the new camera is absolutely sick. Hopefully you've worked out something with them in regards to sponsorship because it must not have been cheap. Keep up the great work and I'm sure I can speak for thousands and thousands of other fans, we continue to look forward to additional off season content.
Par 4s that should be 3s...#1, #8, #9, #10, #12, and #17. Simon shoots 11 under which is absolutely incredible well over 1050 rated in my opinion. Probably closer to 1075. With the adjustments to par, this course is one of the best in the world. Just one man's opinion😂
I feel like tee pads should have a 3 foot boundary all around where you're not allowed to put tee signs. Looks like a fun course. Definitely looks to be more intermediate-level for scoring. As it grows and matures, I'm sure some pins/teepads will move to tweak those soft par 4s, or add a pro set of pads to make a harder 4 for Open players.
Looks like a really fun course. They should probably make all the holes under 470 or so par 3s and it'll be moderately challenging. Either that or add about 60-70 feet to the current par 4s. Those 4s seemed super soft even to me and I'm around 900.
Fun watch. Love the dialogue on 6: Simon "should have listened to my caddie"; Paul "run all day" :) Simon, camera is fantastic. Crisp and sharp image with high pixel detail. I realize it's probably tradition but any reason tee signage can't be placed at the back of the tee pad rather than the front?
nice new camera - one thing i noticed is that the focus sticks on people (even their backs), unless you tap to focus elsewhere. it makes it hard to follow the tee shots especially. i suspect that it defaults to subject detect (people) auto focus. might be worth deselecting that
PS- I’d recommend the Sony M1 microphone, Simon. Get ride of the finicky 3.5mm headphone jack. Also being able to choose the mic pickup pattern is awesome. You can have traditional shotgun mic (forward only) or switch to interview still where it picks up behind and in front of the camera only. Cuts the sides out. You choose. It’s super compact too. Look into it. 🫡
Congrats on the new camera. Looks like a nice piece of kit. Now it's time to level up with a gimbal and zoom motor for some nice smooth (and level) footage. I'll even come teach you how to use it :-)
Hey Simon! That camera is awesome, but you should turn IBIS on (image stabilization). it will remove a lot of the jitter and camera shake in the videos
Glad you liked the course! Thanks for checking it out. -one of the Hillside volunteers!

Thank you for putting in the work to bring a new course to the area! The sport is better because of your selflessness.
Simon: dont talk on my backswing
Also Simon: talks whenever paul is throwing :}
Every video too lol
RIGHT?!?!?! I thought it was just me but he's a little rude. He hates losing too.
Yeah I’ve noticed how his demeanor changes the first bad throw. This is my relationship with my pro friend. He believes deeply in etiquette when he is throwing. lol.
Good call. Always. And I don't really understand the thing about people talking on your shot, it never affects me at all
I love how Simon and Paul are still filming together, and it feels like I’m watching a father-son duo😂 I love these vibes and love to see both Paul and Simon grow!

Simon is the best DG RUclipsr by far. Nice, chill, and a fantastic player to watch. Keep up the good work Simon!!
Yes sir the new camera is fantastic! Great content as always, thanks for all you do.
I love how competitive Simon is around this guy and how the young guy knows his time will come
Simon on that grind in the off season! Kid puttin in work!
This is what the off season is all about, Simon videos. And I think we’re getting a Vlogmas this year too… every other day.

Loving the geek Simon behind the camera talking about the camera features and OUTSTANDING technique from Paul!
I like the zoom on that camera. It makes a big difference. I’ve seen so many disc golf videos, where you lose sight of the disc, early in the flight.
Simon, I like the new camera! It looks great! You two are great as always, keep it up!
16:53 yeah .. 480 feet is such a tweener distance for me too...

This is a truly amazing disc golf course. Simply change the pars from 4 to 3 on several holes and you have one of the best disc golf courses anywhere.

Loved the comment by Simon - "maybe this course is too easy...or maybe I'm just that good :)"

Definitely looked crisper in HD than older videos, the zooms were slick, too! Great looking course!
The new camera is very noticeable. Looks great! Sound was good too!.
