    We recently purchased the 2024 RAV4. It was a heavier truck and drove much better than the Corolla Cross. I compared the two and decided on the RAV4. I think it was the better choice for us.

    I just purchased a Toyota Cross 2024 Hybrid xle top model. I love the car the way it rides and save gas. I am making about 39 miles per gallon in the city. Has nice pickup power and the suv is really beautiful. I recommend this suv.

    How does the Corolla Cross compare to the previous generation RAV4. It seems to be the same size... is that accurate? I like my '17; not too big, not too small.

    Last year we purchased a 2023 Rav 4Trd. Couldn't be happier with a towing capacity of 3500 and a higher ground clearance etc. We also have a 2001 RAV we purchased in 2003 with only 18,000 miles on it. It is now pushing 400,000 miles with basic maintenance. Our oldest just bought a 2024 Corolla Cross LE end of May and she is very happy! You honestly can't go wrong with a Toyota or a Honda if you maintain your vehicle. Our youngest has a 2001 Honda CRV with just over 200,000 miles. Basic maintenance. Take care of them, they will take care of you!

    Love the RAV4 Prime, but at 182 inches, won't fit in my garage. Well, it will fit, but no room to walk around it to get into the house. Hence, the CC Hybrid is on my radar. Until I can actually test drive an XSE in my area, that is. Just curious, how different are the Canadian market vehicles compare to the U.S. version? I do know that the U.S. versions are built in Alabama (Canadians get theirs from Japan), and the U.S. CC won't get heated steering wheels.

  • @markanthony3275

    I'm considering a Cross...but my problem is twofold. First, if the Cross is almost the same size as a Rav 4, but has only a 2 litre motor instead of a 2.5 litre , doesn't that mean it won't even get the same gas mileage, it will get worse ? And second, if it doesn't get mileage as good as the Rav 4, why oh why did they go with a smaller gas tank??? It's hard to know exactly how good the mileage would be on a Cross because everybody will tell you something different. My brother has a Rav4 and he went on a 1200 mile round trip through mountains to the west coast...he averaged 5.6 l/100km. Will the Cross do that if it's smaller motor has to work harder to pull almost the same weight? Maybe I should just buy a Rav 4.

    I compared a AWD Cross vs a regular (XLE?)RAV4 @ a dealership in 🇺🇸. I thought the Cross was much better priced for features I LIKE. IF I was interested in getting a new vehicle.
    I wished 🇺🇸 would get the Yaris & in a Cross w/AWD! I follow Ireland Dealers & they're sharp.

    In North America the Cross is priced way too close to the RAV4. In other markets RAV4 usually costs a lot more, sometimes double, and after checking out the interior I can see why. It's kinda nuts how there's less rear legroom in the Cross than the Mitsubishi Mirage, the Cross really should be considered a lifted hatchback due to this.

    If you were gonna get a Toyota the best I can advice you is to get something that is AWD and hybrid. Thats it. all the other features are just wants. AWD for Canadian winters and hybrid for that lovely fuel savings..you pay a lil bit but it is worth it especially if its a daily driver.

    Still would go with Cross, over Hatch or Rav, to me only value in a SUV is you sit higher. The Cross provides that at a cheaper cost! That said, I grew up when station wagons were popular family vehicles, which is what the Cross reminds me of and I have no bias against wagons.

  • @cky5573
    @cky5573 5 месяцев назад

    So you sit lower in a Corolla across than a RAV4. Do you sit as low as a Corolla sedan? Corolla across sounds like a very attractive vehicle, but I’d like to sit higher like a SUV and not a sedan.

    • @johnmartin7158
      @johnmartin7158 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@kelsea16 Fair question. Because this good channel and others have been extolling the virtues of hybrids ad nauseam. For obvious reasons. Resell, efficiency and driving dynamics. And it appears in 2025 or 6 onwards, hybrids will only be available. Perhaps dealerships don’t want to be caught out with a surplus of petrol only. To me it makes no sense. But the petrol only model will be a far cheaper leg in for some people.
      Changing subject, I’m at a loss why the majority of USA Toyota dealerships put these huge mark ups on and all these unnecessary add ons.
      Cheers.
