@OGReacts-w2o highly recommend and can do the color coded version, so you know who sings which part. Also reminded most of there big songs with have an MV, dance performance video, and training kids too! I hope you get to the other XG Xypher Tapes soon!
Long and jewelry nails are culturally a Japanese thing also dating back to feudal times signifying class status. The hierarchical few who dressed their nails this way indicates they were above manual labor where adorned nails would be impractical. XG took this to the extreme as being satirical and playful.
Bro, we are all waiting patiently for your reactions....I think because it reminds us of our own experiences down this damn rabbit hole...these girls really cant be this good, but we find ourselves in awe every single time with these damn girls...especially the little bald one😅... you keep doing you Dre
As someone who fell down the XG rabbit hole in September and by the year end they were my most listened to artist because they just fill the hole that has been missing in music for me since my youth, I have really enjoyed your reactions. As a parent, I too have shared them with my daughters, and they are definitely are a go to for car rides these days! I think you hit the nail on the head with why a group like this can be successfully created outside the US, particularly in a place like Japan. I think that cultural sense of community and working together is just different in the East, but I know from listening to solo Japanese artists like CHANMINA (She's a solo singer and rapper, and if you do want to hear and see a very harsh view and critique to the industry there, her song and video BIJIN is different from what these ladies are doing but definitely something to watch, IMO.), they can also dig into a fierce individualism too. This seems to just blend into creating some sort of magic in a group like XG, and I think that missing soul you spoke about in K-Pop/J-Pop comes out when the artists in the big groups break out to do their solo projects. However, with XG it's just different, they have *IT* together or apart! I also agree, with you on this song. It's amazing (and was a great introduction to Flo), but the nails always get me. 😂 However, I love their brand of weird and unique, so it's all good in the end. I will be interested to hear your take on "Tippy Toes" because I share that sentiments you have about "Mascara." For me, it's too copy paste K-Pop sounding. However, I will be really curious to hear your thoughts on "IYKYK" (A favorite of Cocona's apparently!) along with "TGIF" and "Something Ain't Right" when you get to them! To me they dive more into house and dance music that I love from the 90s and early 2000s, and the videos are a triiiiip. Spoiler alert: they are out of this world. 😉 Finally, everyone is right, "In the Rain" is so good. Might be my new favorite, which is crazy because I will always stop to dance when "IYKYK" comes on during our family lift sessions, which thankfully for everyone, are in our basement.

They are building well in Japan and China right now, and those concerts are bringing in a lot of cash in their First Howl world tour, millions, so they are trying to build a strong base with strong profit margins, so they haven't spend a lot on social media like HYBE or YG does to pump up YT views. It's a business philosophy. Long term goals, not short term success. Quality, not quantity. High margin, not high volume, to create financial stability to grow.

The XG TAPES are just the rap line, Maya, Cocona, Harvey, and Jurin. Highly recommend VOX #5. And yes, many ALPHAZ are hoping that Maya joins the vocal line for a VOX in the future.

You right about the training, gotta check out the Documentary even if on your own. A lot of us Alphas have watched it dozens of times with other Reactors.
Loving your rants and your deep analysis on the girls. I think even in your own time or as a reaction, you should watch their XG documentaries Xtra Xtra. There are at least an hour long per episode, I forgot how many episodes though, #6, #8? and I think it will just about answer the questions you have on them, and whether any other country can do the same. In a nutshell… imagine child prodigies handpicked from 10’s of thousands, practically put into a lab perfecting their craft rapping, singing, dancing 24/7. Put under tremendous physical, mental and emotional pressure everyday. Their company and the teams around them all committed to this one goal. It’s crazy to think. Oh and just warning you, it’s a bit of a tear jerker! 😅 oh and you can even get your daughters to watch. There’s allot to take away from it and can be motivating and life changing. As a grown ass man, XG has saved my life, and I’m being serious!
You're definitely right about us in America (or even Western countries) in general not being able to replicate the groups like South Korea and Japan does. Bcoz first of all, these kids are being trained very early and go through crazy rigorous training/hardships which (like you said) the parents would never allow their kids to be put through for music/dance (maybe only for sports). And no business would risk being sued or criticized for putting kids through that. Second, culturally asians are more likely to respond well to instructions from trainers/seniors and perform well within social laws and norms bcoz they mostly want to fit in to the society and not cause trouble or stand out due to how they will be perceived in their circle/society - which translates well to group dynamics and again being trained well. Kids here tend to rebel a lot, complain, and have no patience to work hard for a long term to get success (if any). Lastly, for good or for worse, people in western countries are all about ME vs "us". Anytime we have formed group, the most talented person in that group eventually leaves the group bcoz they feel like they are the star and would be better off as a solo artist. Doesn't help that usually every group has only 1/2 stars and rest are fillers so the talented ones stick out very easily and become popular. Asian groups have more balanced members and everyone can usually contribute in some ways and while there are still few members that are the "popular" ones in each group, there are usually fans of the lesser members as well. I feel like asian groups/culture are more likely to think about the herd vs american/western culture is more about "me" and "I am the star" mentality.
My sentiments exactly here! Any country/culture who has the propensity to embrace a collective WE, and put as much importance and honor to dedication thru sacrifice can possibly achieve similar progressive improvement and greatness. Western countries and cultures still struggle with this (being Asian born abroad and growing up here in the States..it’s evident when I can compare times here and there)
If you want to hear them all sing ( really sing ) " Is This Love " and " In The Rain " , they're only lyric videos but it highlights their picture who is singing. Incredible B-side songs from their album.
This video is part of XG's VOX playlist, which is made up of covers by the vocal line, that is, the three of them, Juria, Hinata and Chisa. It has several covers, either individually or by the three of them together, including a Michael Jackson cover by Chisa, for example. There is also a playlist by the Rap Line called Take, where they don't do covers, but they use famous rap and trap beats. Oh, an interesting fact that I forgot to mention, when they went on their first world tour there in the United States, on stage they did individual covers of songs by artists from the cities they visited.
The VOX series is for the vocalist just how the TAPES are for the rap line. Like you said it is a cover from a British girl group named FLO and they make great music too!
I was a little disappointed they didn't perform this song during the US tour but then they replaced it with Say My Name which just takes their talents to another level. Chisa really shows her inner Beyonce on this cover.
I absolutely agree. Lets not forget that XG is a Japanese group. They were raised and trained in a Japanese culture of strict discipline and strong work ethic. Couple that with their talent and skills and you get a top tier group that consistently delivers high quality production and music. Is that something that can be duplicated in the states or in the West? Maybe. But there will never be another XG.
ALPHAZ ON DECK🐺🐺🐺 You're finally back. Creating something comparable to XG is really difficult. In the western world, nobody casts a group from the age of 11, trains them for 5-6 years and then releases them. You can't replicate the bond that was forged there here. You can see how connected the girls are with each other. In every “behind the scenes” video, in the documentary or the reality shows that exist, you can see the warmth and care for each other. I've never seen anything like it from any other group. You often see Maja standing at the edge of the stage when Chisa sings her sols and Maja has tears in her eyes. Or how some of the girls start crying with happiness after big performances. Heartwarming and unique. And if you look at the history of music, some groups don't even manage to stay together for 5 years because one or the other thinks they're better, there's no success or they simply fall out. For me, the more I watch XG, the less I like other bands. You can see how unique XG is. Yes, other bands are good too, but there really aren't any that I think have the same talent as XG. Coming close, yes, but on a par? no. With IYKYK you can look forward to a great london garage beat.
The nails were distracting. 😂but they knocked this out the park. It’s a cover by Flo. The original artists gave them shout outs too. I agree on Maya and Coco, they have soul
Chisa did all parts in studio, and created the vocal styling for the 3 of them. There is a lot of vocal styling on this, a lot of background vocals and harmonies, which wasn't mentioned by OG, only nails for him, lol. 😂
Chisa, Juria and Hinata is the vocal line of the group. That's why in those vox videos they only have those 3... The other 4 girls are rap line, they do those cypher tape videos. And the first girl singing was juria
You should react to two songs of theirs recently that don’t have music vids, but there are color coded lyric videos with the names of members singing their parts. This gives you a chance to master the names and match them with look of the members. The songs are IN THE RAIN and IS THIS LOVE
Dre please be sure to check out the original for this song by Flo. XG made this their own, but the original is what made Chisa want to cover it, it's amazing.
Juria with the bangs. Chisa with the red hair and first chorus. You know which is Hinata. Today is Chisa 23rd bday by the way. Happy birthday solo queen! And they just having some fun with the fingernails. Coco from SWV style. They show homage all over the place.
My second comment on this reaction. I couldn't agree with you more on everything you said ....we could not give our kids up for this amount of time for any reason, to accomplish anything..... everything else you said was on point also from the nail to close your eyes. Dre for best reactioner on the internet
The VOX Series is an introduction to the Vocal line. Mainly covers. So it will be in English, Japanese or Korean The Tapes is an introduction to the Rap line. In English, Japanese and Korean. The Dance series is an intro to their dancing. It's a cover of UK girl group Flo Chisa arranged thos with Hinata and Juria. There's a behind the scene vid on this.
ok and now I see we have the wall of sneakers, so the fits are always on point in true OG fashion!!! 😄 I was waiting on this one but didn't expect it so soon. This performance was so well done and took me back to the late 90's. Take care and happy new year!!!
You’re right when you say their parents basically gave them to the production company. I believe cocona and maya were 10 or 11 when they started the training program, and it’s a boarding situation. I think very few parents in America would be willing to send their kids off at such a young age, even if it were legal to run that kind of training program here (which I’m not sure about).
Yep 👍🏽 11 years old but remember they were in AVEX prior to that. HINATA came from a smaller city but she was in dance earlier. HARVEY & JURIN were models first. 🪩🎼✨🕺🏻🎶
@@leesmith9872facts. Those girls are bilingual (Maya is trilingual), very respectful, humble, and work hard. I’m not even sure they graduated high school. Regardless, they are very smart & talented.
I dont think you can do that in the west nowadays. Especially not with 7 all around talents like that. As you said parents will get in the way, but also Ego. With xg they accept the part they get for a song, a tape or a vox and then just kill that part. Everyone has tracks where they gotta take a backseat and be cool with it. I think we in west would be like:" i need more bars, i need more vocals,...."
The Tapes shows of the Rappers. The VOX shows of the Vocalists (thats why you only see Chisa, Hinata, and Jiria). And the Moves shows all of them as Dancers.
Pienso que una de las razones por la cual las personas se sorprenden con XG, y les da tanta nostalgia con esa vibra de los 90' o 00', es por que hoy en dia ya no se ve nada como esto.
There is a group using the Korean training in the states. Called something like vicha, or similar. The company been sued at the moment. The call it child labour, child abuse and so on. Doubtfull it will end up in anything. Nice reaction as always👍
You are so right. We couldn’t have that here. People too focused on their individual “come up” . Plus the backing and support of a company wouldn’t do that in the states. In my opinion.
In the west there is a lack of commitment, too much entitlement attitude and pure selfishness, outside of sports there is no way and even in sports that mindset is still prevalent, everyone is only out for themselves so team work doesn’t work, as far as the nails are concerned it makes sense given that whole thing started in ancient Babylon/Egypt/the orient it was a show of prominence and power way back in history
I am convinced that if basketball and football could be played by one person and it was a big market, the team sports would breakdown as well just like how girl/boy groups break down eventually here. The top players would all leave to go solo and make all the money for themselves. The only reason team sports (few areas of people in groups in western market) work here is bcoz the sports can only be played as a group.
XG would not work in the USA because the industry is more invested in the song as a product and never the actual artists. There were groups that are literal family members in the U.S. and still couldn't work the way XG is working. Fun Fact: Chisa produced this cover originally as a solo vox but the other two vocalists loved it so much Chisa decided to rerecord it with them in it.
You should check out their documentary Xtra Xtra. There’s 8 episodes and they are long, but you see the hardships all the girls had to endure to get to where they are. The documentary showcases their 5 year training period and you’ll appreciate them even more. I don’t think to the US will able this adopt type of training system…probably will violate many child labor laws. VCha is going through this now. Some trainees start at as early as 10.
So im sure you've heard it in the comments by now. The Cypherz is the "mix tapes" for the main rappers and the "vox" tapes are the ones showing off rhe vocal line. Also when you get to Tippy Toes, thats their debut song.
I knew you’d vibe with this song! ..and I’m totally with you when it comes to Maya’s vocals. To me; she’s the unofficial 4th main vocalist. She has some stand out vocal runs on ‘In The Rain’ and ‘Is This Love’
For more amazing XG r&b vibes I recommend In The Rain. I love it so much.

Agreed!
And they don't have to go to a Diddy party. That's the problem with The west.
lol
My sentiments exactly here! Any country/culture who has the propensity to embrace a collective WE, and put as much importance and honor to dedication thru sacrifice can possibly achieve similar progressive improvement and greatness. Western countries and cultures still struggle with this (being Asian born abroad and growing up here in the States..it’s evident when I can compare times here and there)
I really enjoyed watching you experience this song your little proud smile throughout listening to it warmed my heart! 😍
Vocal Line: Chisa, Juria, Hinata
Rap Line: Jurin, Harvey, Maya, Coco
Juria*
Best layout for your reactions / mv display thus far. On a side note, shoe game display ON POINT!! 🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate that
Your loving smile at Hinata is so real.
If you want to hear them all sing ( really sing ) " Is This Love " and " In The Rain " , they're only lyric videos but it highlights their picture who is singing. Incredible B-side songs from their album.
also - whether on ur own time or here, don't miss checking out the og version from Flo! both are wonderful
Vox is Latin for voice, thus featuring the vocal line.
You spoke true facts in the beginning OG 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I try
The VOX series is for the vocalist just how the TAPES are for the rap line. Like you said it is a cover from a British girl group named FLO and they make great music too!
OG XG dropped Xtra XG 56 Awich THE HOPE 24 🔥🔥 Losing You is a cover from Flo Chisa, Juria, Hinata killed it 😊
Man I addict to your XG rabbit hole lol
Glad to have you!
Vocals…. Rap….dance…. This group! 😮😮😮
This song, live, is EVERYTHING!
I was a little disappointed they didn't perform this song during the US tour but then they replaced it with Say My Name which just takes their talents to another level. Chisa really shows her inner Beyonce on this cover.
The nails represent claws aka the claws are purchase directed the song for all 3 of them
I absolutely agree.
22:48 Maya is the GOAT all rounder bro
03:45 speaking facts,. ✌✌✌✌🙌🙌🙌🙌
I really enjoy your exposition in your videos.
I appreciate that!
Bangs is Juria...you got it!!!
Hope you feel better soon 🙏 XG are 🔥💜🐺✌️🇮🇪
Chisa was supposed to do this song alone also but she wanted/invited juria and Hinata on it also
And they just hopped on it and slayed the fuck out of it.
Chisa did all parts in studio, and created the vocal styling for the 3 of them. There is a lot of vocal styling on this, a lot of background vocals and harmonies, which wasn't mentioned by OG, only nails for him, lol. 😂
hinata's sweet angelic voice is perfect for r&b!! i love her voice so much. she is severely underrated. and i agree with you, she's the cutest!!
Chisa, Juria and Hinata is the vocal line of the group. That's why in those vox videos they only have those 3... The other 4 girls are rap line, they do those cypher tape videos. And the first girl singing was juria
Well said old school I feel the same way you do thanks for the soap-box speech 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Chisa always touches my soul when she sings
I love your insights sir. It’s definitely a needed conversation. Thank you
Thanks for listening
The nails represent claws aka the claws are out
if you hadn't already written it, it would be my comment now. 😅 lol.... Yes, you're right, the fingernails are the wolf claws here 🐺
You should react to two songs of theirs recently that don’t have music vids, but there are color coded lyric videos with the names of members singing their parts. This gives you a chance to master the names and match them with look of the members. The songs are IN THE RAIN and IS THIS LOVE
[XG VOX #5] XGLEE CLUB (HINATA, JURIA, CHISA) this is a trial by fire
Early gang! Alpha alpha we gon ride or die!
No, you’re the best!
I HIGHLY recommend in the rain if you really want that R&B vibes
The VOX Series is an introduction to the Vocal line. Mainly covers. So it will be in English, Japanese or Korean
The Tapes is an introduction to the Rap line. In English, Japanese and Korean.
The Dance series is an intro to their dancing.
It's a cover of UK girl group Flo
Chisa arranged thos with Hinata and Juria. There's a behind the scene vid on this.
ok and now I see we have the wall of sneakers, so the fits are always on point in true OG fashion!!! 😄
I was waiting on this one but didn't expect it so soon. This performance was so well done and took me back to the late 90's. Take care and happy new year!!!
You already know!
Oh and for Chisa check out her performance of “I’ll Never Love Again”
Reaction 12:48
You’re right when you say their parents basically gave them to the production company. I believe cocona and maya were 10 or 11 when they started the training program, and it’s a boarding situation. I think very few parents in America would be willing to send their kids off at such a young age, even if it were legal to run that kind of training program here (which I’m not sure about).
I'd rather give my child to XGALX than the public school system in America.
ALPHAZ ON DECK🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
This was covered I believe and they killed it but they do have an original off their new album AWE called, In the Rain 🌧️
Oh boy. Looking forward to your next 2 reactions! They might leave the same impression Mascara did but we shall see!
We here!!! 🔥💯
That's because this is the vox the singing line, the tapes are the rap line
oh HELL yes been waiting for this one
The Tapes shows of the Rappers. The VOX shows of the Vocalists (thats why you only see Chisa, Hinata, and Jiria). And the Moves shows all of them as Dancers.
This is, by far, my fav channel at this moment
Thank you!
Pienso que una de las razones por la cual las personas se sorprenden con XG, y les da tanta nostalgia con esa vibra de los 90' o 00', es por que hoy en dia ya no se ve nada como esto.
love your reactions! ❤ from 🇨🇦
Glad you like them!
There is a group using the Korean training in the states. Called something like vicha, or similar. The company been sued at the moment. The call it child labour, child abuse and so on.
Doubtfull it will end up in anything.
Nice reaction as always👍
Loving these 3 just harmonizing, Hinata's eyes get me everytime. This will go on a Playlist along with Winter without you.
THIIIISSS ISSSS THEEEEE ONEEEE !!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loving the journey through XG's discography keep it up OG much love from Alphaz
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! the one I’ve been waiting for.
Forgot to add that your reaction was great. Keep 'em coming.
Thank you! Will do!
17:45 *trying to think through all the feels but eventually gave in* ...
"...but... You go, girls!" 😂
That's what you fucking call PERFECTION!
Your back , great to see you . Sorry your not feeling there . Get well soon. JURIN JURIN JURIN
😭 over 90' nails in r&b
The women in the Japanese music scene are ruling every genre of music. Xg and Hanabie are perfect examples of that.
FYI, you need to go back to GRL GVNG (girl gang) and check out both the ASL version and then the dance practice, specifically in that order. 🐺🐺🐺🐺
Amazing how much I like XG. Found them when my daughter got into KPop. I was struggling getting into it until XG!
How come no one has mentioned the kicks Unc. Nice shoe collection. Them J's are 🔥 I got 13 pairs myself 😊
Thank you!
Excellence in Marching bands in US. But it’s different.
So im sure you've heard it in the comments by now. The Cypherz is the "mix tapes" for the main rappers and the "vox" tapes are the ones showing off rhe vocal line. Also when you get to Tippy Toes, thats their debut song.
If you don’t like mascara, you ain’t gonna like tippy toes 😂. Can’t wait till you hear Maya Million Cash…shit is super dope.
I knew you’d vibe with this song! ..and I’m totally with you when it comes to Maya’s vocals. To me; she’s the unofficial 4th main vocalist. She has some stand out vocal runs on ‘In The Rain’ and ‘Is This Love’
