The easiest way is to learn to do max damage on the first two phases. If you can damage the boss to about 65% by the end of phase 2 then you can clear it by only seeing two puddles. The thing that makes it hard is that players are thinking of all three phases. They dodge a lot during the first two phases thinking they have to make it to phase three. I worked my way up to this be completing all extreme trials. I just wanted to get used to following macros. I finished cinders drift ex yesterday this is my final 'trial ' to complete. It looks way out of my depth but if it was easy itd be boring
Is going to be omega-hard cause people are giving an time limit excuse or rushed, and also there's bipolar idiots that even they ask if we have a question just to say in a nanosecond later: "I dont want to waste my time". People are super-busy for toxicity points or medals (for what?). I know this fight is harder, but some people (like me) are having hard time to even figuring out with assigned spots should stay, and trust me I am trying to finish this but is not always easy. Nonetheless, Thank you very much for the guide, I'll try to watch over and over until figure this fight out, even if it takes centuries to dominate.
As a person who studied latin I find the spell names kinda derpy. citius (pronounced Kitius) altius fortius is the olympic motto which means quicker higher stronger, festina lente is another latin motto which directly translates to make haste slowly but means to act quickly but not to make rash decisions. Alea iacta est is another phrase which kinda means it is what it is done idk a good way to translate it but it directly translates across as "the dice (game) you throw is (done)". Vivere militare est means "to live is fight(in war/for your country)" and then ignis est means "is fire" and ventus est means "is wind" much doesn't makes sense unless this is a reference to something i haven't heard of... just doesn't make sense why you'd put est (is) which is the derpiest but at least refers the that actual attack in some way. idk it all seems like random latin gibberish which doesn't really relate to the fight or the mechanics so it seems odd. I get the whole roman empire theme and stuff but it seems like the references are a bit shallow and someone googled a bunch of latin words and was like.. yeah lets use that. anyway dumb rant over lol.
@@xaarxyc I googled it to see how others translated it and that's what I found. That doesn't put the verb in the correct tense however it's the best way to make it make sense in English. It's one of those things that only makes sense in the native language.
"To live is (to?) Fight" kinda makes sense. It's one of those mechanics where the tanks are holding on to dear life, and back against an attack the rest of the party must destroy. Like the susanoo sword phase. Also, maybe we're not supposed to read each attack as their own statements, but as parts of 1 sentence based on what mechanics are overlapping. "Ignis est" and "ventus est" sound like sentence fragments, and its curious they are ALWAYS accompanied by other attacks, even non-Latin sounding ones. The electricrified gunshield being combined with ignis est for example could instead be read as "the electrified gunshield is fire". Yes I know there is a third attack in that combo but I'm keeping it simple.
Thanks for the guide. I hate fights like this. Because they don't feel like a fight, they feel like a more complicated DDR. Don't even get a sense of accomplishment from winning, just relieved to get class gear.
@@thewittyusername You are correct, it's a boring design type, despite the fact it takes lots of planning for them to have make it. Kind of like all the CGI and Green Screens in the Star Wars Prequels. It was all meticulously planned out, but the tools they chose to work with, air conditioned green screen sets, so George Lucas could sit in a chair and drink his coffee the entirety of the production made everything feel cheap despite how much money was spent on it. I think I just hate standard trinity MMO combat, the normal combat is so boring and easy, that the only way to make it more difficult is to do stuff like this. I had the same experience as Raiding Captain for my Guild during Wrath for WoW, having to watch videos, take notes, spend 2 weeks planning a raid like it was a job rather than a video game I was playing to have fun. Shit's gay AF. Sorry didn't mean to blow a valve and have all that pour out.
How come nobody seems to make guides on the Ultimate trials? Its always just peoples playthrough but no real explanation. The Ultima and Bahamut one came out over 2 years ago and the Alexander one came out last year, but nothing?
Have you considered doing a tutorial on how to play each class, going through rotations, what to watch for, and stuff like that? The series would be really helpful :D
The expectation in EX is that you're going to wipe a lot. It's not like normal mode where you clear on the first or second pull, it's meant to take a few hours of attempts.
Also range and healers take the inter cardinal spots while melee and tanks the cardinal spots and group 1 always stacks north while group 2 takes south during phase 2 and 3 while standing in the column area that’s save from the blue X aoe (watch the clones that appear before they casting it). I’ve seen so many wipes because healers panic and run around like headless chickens, sometimes even stacking both on top of each other. Also PLEASE stop joining clear groups if you don’t know how to handle every mechanic. This isn’t something you can get carried. One mistake at the wrong time by any single player quickly causes a wipe.
@@renouille85 It depends on who the floor tank is. The damage checks are lenient enough that if the party has decent overall dps then missing one isn't that big a deal. An actual tank dying all the damn time is kind of manageable if you can get them up to be a second body for the tankbusters and the fist transition phase. If a healer is garbage then you are better off replacing them because there is enough consistent damage that one healer alone will struggle and probably place a blood curse on your entire lineage once you wipe.
Possible EW spoilers: . . . . . I don't know if "party finder strats may VARIS from data center to data center so for now we're going to focus on the strats I've seen the most on PRIMAL" in the beginning was an intentional joke or what, but you actually really hit the nail on the head with that one ahdjsjdks

elegantlolii it’s actually basically a hard mode. It isn’t difficult at all, cleared day one without guides or strats. It’s a very intuitive fight if you have basic game knowledge and can look at the screen at the same time as playing
day 2 and only gotten till phase 2, making progress
Its a trick question, his age is Vari-able.
thank you as always XD
Can I farm for augmented gear any job or the job I’m on ?
This seems like one of the easier lvl80 extremes, will definitely give it a go.
What lol
@@JDxxxxxx Hey Killa, it definitely was! Cleared it on the first evening we tried this with the guild.
@@NicoGrech haven’t tried it yet but it looked harder compared to others maybe will be easier
I give you an A+ for this essay.
Alea iacta est translates to English as "The die is cast".
Your Latin seems a little off too.
Speak with Alphinaud.
tried it was kicked for beeing a first timer -.-
Hey MTQ able to do a guide on TEA?
sadly there is no normal mode of this fight or new game + to retry it with AI when we do the cid memory quest.
That samurai is insane!!
Description too fast
I’m not even going to try this one....😔
can you move or resize the gunshield charge bar ?
I believe it's called the Duty Gauge in the HUD Layout editor
Thanks for the guide. I hate fights like this. Because they don't feel like a fight, they feel like a more complicated DDR. Don't even get a sense of accomplishment from winning, just relieved to get class gear.
Most ex/savage fights are a dance like this.... You may just not like raiding in ff14 😅
Because theres already better resources out there for ultimates
Have you considered doing a tutorial on how to play each class, going through rotations, what to watch for, and stuff like that? The series would be really helpful :D
as a Melee I always remind myself P2 Ignis is EVIL !!!
i don't get it
At least now I know why Elidibus didn't just kill Varis and control his body instead.
That motherfucker's strong.
my god... that is so much to remember, I really want to try this, but I'm a bit scared to go with a random group T_T what if I mess up.
dude everyone messes up, just dive into a practice party and you'll be fine
@@Plasmapause yeah you are right... Probably just nervouse. I'll keep my eyes on the party finder.
I tried to go with a random group today, nobody was toxic, but I left because I was dying too much haha, had to see a whm pov video.
@@Snoutbr Also treied it with a random group... as a healer, I got better, but damned it was just too much all at once. we didn't clear it sadly.
The expectation in EX is that you're going to wipe a lot. It's not like normal mode where you clear on the first or second pull, it's meant to take a few hours of attempts.
7:28 this part is horrible for the healer who has to haul ass to the other side of the room when the safe spot is the far east or west.
Can blm’s even cast in this fight?
the correct answer is no lol
You know tho probs not
...this is more stuff then savage fights
Holy god I just want my relic armor I have a feeling I’m gonna be going thru a lot of K+M’s
ray smooth looks like he strugglin
dye-able versions of gear is not worth this. i think i'll wait to unsync
Pussy
@@smellmyclock if i got more out of it than glamour i might put myself through that. but there isn't so i won't. i call that stress free and smart
I clearly see your pain in the comment, rip you. xD
Who hurt you
I still think this is a little more casual compared to the savages. There can be floor tank but it ia still doable.
*pat pat*
these puns are the reason youre amazing
I platinumed sekiro but i cry 😭 during ff xiv extreme fights.
Pain in the Ascian, I laughed more than I should
Do I need coloured AF gear that bad...?
Yes.
Just did it. It wasn't that bad.
