The required strength of the concrete can be monitored and check as you said with various test and choosing the right concrete supplier. Part of the concreting job that is taken for granted is the CURING part that affects the attainment of the target strength. Either there was no curing at all specially in building process or inadequate that will lead to dry shrinkage cracking and reduction in the mechanical strength of the concrete. My parents hired an architect/contractor for 1MIL to have our home renovated…according to him, it shouldn’t take longer than 5months…the thing is, there were a lot of discrepancies during construction like there would be weeks that there were no movement in the construction, workers leaving because they were not paid, supplies were delayed because previous orders were not paid yet…my father is now on the verge of reporting the said architect/contractor…haaays to top it all off, my dad already paid 900k 🤦🏻♀️
Hi Slater! Thanks for yet another great video! I am a Swedish viewer for over 3 years now, that plan to build a house in south Cebu, so I try to find all info concerning building subject, and your videos is great but I still don't speak much Cebuano so I have problem to follow everything you telling in the videos, so could you not do them only in English? I know that its many other except me that would predicate that! Thanks!
Most importantly, you need to find an honest and reputable Filipino engineer who attended a quality civil/structural engineering college with 5+ years of experience and who was ranked high in their college graduating class. An ethical individual, who will oversee the entire construction project from start to finish. They typically know who is an honest, quality construction contractor/foreman who will not cut corners or skimp on cheaply made materials (Chinese made rebar, wood, nails, screws, angle bar, roofing, tie wire, square bar, etc.) Footings, foundations and lower and upper ring beams are the most crucial part of a construction project in the Philippines, so focus your attention on those above all else. Next, quality welded steel angle bar roof trusses that are properly connected/secured to the upper ring beam and use quality roofing material like Galvalume on a hip style roof, or if you install a quality flat solid cement poured roof with rebar reinforcement and steel pan decking you need competent cement roofing installers. Lastly, be certain if you install western style slider windows that they have weather stripping or they will leak when you get strong wind blown rain. Same with the doors, use weather stripping and a weather proof threshold or rain will come in under the door. All the aforementioned are the most crucial to be earthquake and typhoon proof in the Philippines. Poured concrete walls is what I have, but you can use Liteblock too, if you want quality walls. Good luck.
every price quote should be dealt with some suspension, para somehow mabawasan yong chance mu na maloko. whether the price is high or low, specially if you don't know construction.

Being mindful of how and who to award your project is good, but you have to be strict on having a written contract as it would be your basis if the installed items are sub-standard.

Is he a licensed Architect po ba ? You can check the website in UAP,
Napaka informative.. but suggestion, please use some illustrations as it will be very helpful to people like me na walang engineering background. 😊
Construction project is such an intricate process but thanks to SLATER for giving us an awareness through this vlog. 🧡🧡🧡
Aside from the topic....that couch! I want it too!
All the aforementioned are the most crucial to be earthquake and typhoon proof in the
Philippines. Poured concrete walls is what I have, but you can use Liteblock too, if you want quality walls. Good luck.
@Kent...You will build in a subdivision, or you bought a lot in province?
every price quote should be dealt with some suspension, para somehow mabawasan yong chance mu na maloko. whether the price is high or low, specially if you don't know construction.
Hire a Registered and licensed Professionals, "You can't do it on your own" - I like this.
lol! loved the toy truck and house!! great for learning :)
"Independent Engineers to QC" - best move!
True yan Slater, you will hear a lot of owner, I don't need Architects or Engineer too expensive, I can build and manage it..... oh yeahh..goodluck!
I’ve learned something in this vedio thanks Engineer slater.
kaya nga when looking for contractors dapat ang may ari eh hindi businessman but architects and engineers. they have licenses at 15yrs liability sa lahat ng napirmahan at nagawa nila. kaya kung magkamali sila at mayreklamo sa gawa nila, the clients are open to report them sa PRC. Hire Professionals! Wag mag DIY. most people think DIY is cheaper. 🙄
Ctto to the owner of the toy Pison, Scottieboo hahaha
Thanks for the inputs, appreciate much‼️💬💯👍🏼
With the earthquake that happened today, I've been watching so many construction-related youtube posts 🥺
thank you slater!
thank you slater.
Make this a series plssssss!!!
Good explanation sir slater👍👍👍👍
Thank you for your great tips!
Daghan gyud contractor mangilad. Bisan expert or proper contractor imo e hire. Need gyud Ang owner sa balay kay naay idea about building the residential or commercial bisan basic Lang especially foundation sa building. Need gyud ug proper and strict nga pamaagi.
sometimes contractors will take advantage of client's ignorance/inexperience by over charging.
I like this video. Sana mag karoon ng series po ito. Part 2 please and sana detailed na po sya.
Can you also advise us on the list of steps to take when you want to build your 1st house?
ON POINT AGAIN 💖
Godbless Sir Slater and your Family! Ganda ng vlogs nyo mag asawa!
Learning so much. Thanks Slater!
thats why i dont give my services in any clients whos after only for the lowest cost, i let them suffer in their lowest fake "contractor" who makes package lowest deal
Dealing with Dishonest Contractors - Sadly there are so many of them
Even some professional they don’t do it good like our house we hired professional architects but we discovered last tyfoon 2021 that he didn’t put a strong roof that’s the reason it was crumpled by the tyfoon I’m just hopping that this house will last long coz we can’t afford anymore if the entire house will be damaged.😢
Hala oy very informative sir! Thank you pero mpparanoid ako mgpagawa ng bahay nyan🧐 Kulelat contractors must be shaking sa vid na ito! Haha
Being mindful of how and who to award your project is good, but you have to be strict on having a written contract as it would be your basis if the installed items are sub-standard.
Thank you sir slater for sharing this. Godbless u and your family 🙂🙂❤❤❤
Please create also content regarding with dishonest architect.
Salamat Sa insights bro! Very helpful! Cheers from IRELAND 🇮🇪
I hope you can make more videos like this.
Specially doing road/ paving , lakas kita dyan.
Sir Slater, what are your top things to check during home inspection sa mga newly built home. Thank you po. 😊
YEY! Hahahaha naa nay upload si sir slater! Miss you sir HAHA
How can one know that its over price or under price?
This is exactly what i want to know coz ill be building a house in Marikina very soon and planning to elevate the ground due the area as flood prone. I want to know if u can recommend a good contractor and how much u think will spend on the soil (1 meter high) for 190sqm floor area? Anyone?
Ohhh yeah . That's is very true.
Hi, I learnt alot from your videos. I have a question. Is it good to let a company to build my house where they provide their own architects, engineers, contractors and even materials? Or is it better to have separate engineers and contractors for the project?
this is very helpful meron ako na lot and mababa yng lupa need ko pa lagyan ng Lupa
Very informative Mr. Slater……. Thanks 😀
How do you find a good contractor?
