Great content, I thoroughly appreciate that you take the time to actually explain not only what role/utility a class provides, but SPECIFIC contextual information on spells and abilities or combinations of legendaries and talents that make the spec even more viable. This comes off so much more digestible than "Good damage, good mobility, lots of CCs", which seems to be the general standard as far as tier lists go...and arguably, are statements that could be made about nearly any class individually. All around really nicely done, although I'd love to see the non 'meta' classes discussed for good measure as well :)
There's a S+ tier spec didn't get mentioned in the video: Protection Paladin Probably because the spec is a healer plus melee, so not fitting in the three categories in the video

Lock is strong but has hard times against double meele and is hard to play in this meta. But I'm telling you against casters, affliction is pumping insane damage and the permanent slow is just super nasty
idk how aff didnt make it on to this list as a melee player ive played against aff locks who are getting kicked on ua/malefic rapture on cd lining dark soul and even killing there darkglare pet and they will do by far and away more dmg then both of the melee sitting on them.
Mindgames can also be a pretty hard shaman counter. All shamans run the talent that gives them a decent %hp based heal when they drop low. If you manage to proc it with, or right after mindgames, this heal will instead kill the shaman, or at least put him VERY low. We have sniped so many blue bois from over half hp with mindgames+sw:death in one global. The best/worst part is that they're used to being fine due to that saving heal, so they usually don't trinket+panic burst heal.

@FMarteen Hunters aren't a melee but they're often considered a "cleave" class. Or historically have been because their playstyle fits very well with how rogues/ferals play in both thugcleave and junglecleave. Usually you divide wow dps pvp playstyles into two generalized categories. You have cleave comps and you have wizards.
It's pretty bad. Playing affli resto shaman at 2k rating you gotta tryhard kite every game into 70% dampening to win. One missplay and a warrior/enhance/ret/Sub/DK's will instantly delete you because you're out of range from your portals or pushed too aggresively into their pillar while they were afking for cooldowns. WW/Ferals are just autoloss, can't win against them unless you're on completely different skill levels. If you know kiting fundamentals against DKs/Ret/Enhance they will never catch you though which is cool. Sometimes at deep dampening you'll get random oneshot by Divine Toll/Chain Harvest from ranged which feels kinda unfair though.
U should really try to Play with hpala instead of rsham. Way better synergy now. He can protect off cds and hoj is absolutly insane. Rsham only can do String heals and purge but hex is kinds uslesss in this comb

Chanimals, along with all other Warlock streamers acknowledge how weak warlocks are in the current meta. We're basically on lifesupport clinging to life through the use of the Sacrolash slow legendary.

Maybe I'm missing something but Echoing Shock Stormkeeper does not seem like the correct usage. It's still bugged and will consume both charges (unless you stagger usage) and ultimately you are getting around 2k-2.5k extra damage from it. Why not just echo a lava burst? Worst case scenario it echoes a non crit lava burst which is still more than a lightning bolt. Best case scenario it adds over 10k extra damage to whatever lineup you got going on.
I'm struggling in arena as a rdruid against double dps. Missing a cc in the opener is instant death. At the same time not getting ironbark and ward up is instant death too lol.
@@simkont6793 Nah, FMP, Feral/SP, and kitty cleave are all solid too. Feral is in a good spot as with many specs, all good things people need to quit whining.

Yeah, not for Frost. Frost may well be the worst spec in the game right now. It hits like a wet noodle, has nothing to burn RP on besides BOS, which has remained stagnant for years. It's one of the main reasons why I'm switching off from it. They also got kicked while they were down with the 2H nerfs.

Interuptable, locking literally EVERY Spell in shadowpriest including his defensives, Long cooldown, dispellable. Too many weaknesses. It's a very strong spell don't get me wrong, but the weaknesses are there.
Frost Mages are bad. They play like ranged sub rogues with their control and do literally negative damage. Thing is, this isn't a control based meta but a burst and throughput meta.
Fire is the way to go it seems. And it's okay. leave frost bottom tier for 1 expansion, i've seen so many frost-mage dominated expansions that i am sick of it. i am loving the idea of not having frost mages around for 1 expansion.

Demo is strong and under rated BUT.. they nerfed the defensives which made them not that tanky.. and some classes like sub are able to basically global you. It's pretty sad times. I don't really see any point in playing lock in competitive arena. BG's its fine. I literally got global killed by a rogue with my defensive cooldowns popped and doing the mortal coil / lock rock heal.
Last expansions i played, warrior's weaknesses were the casters. now warrior is the one who destroys the casters lmao. He has like what? 14 charges , 5 jumps and a bunch of teleports , cc immunity and stuff.. There's just no ending to his gap closers.

@@chrisryan1501 honestly i don't think blizzard reads the comments of common players and balance the classes according to them. Cus if that was the case then EVERYONE would get nerfed. Blizzard balances according to 3v3 balance in high raitings, getting feedbacks from high rated streamers mostly... not 1400 raiting scrubs.. Apparently hunter used to be crazy in 3s.
@akhs denlew thats true but even people at high rating were saying how easy it is to counter a mm hunter + after their burst window is gone they lose. The only people that struggle with mm are people that really arent good - its one of the most easily countered specs in the game

An affliction warlock should never have 3 UA's up. If he has, do not dispel all of them or you might get oneshot. UA dispel currently does ~5-6k damage hit and can crit. Against an affliction warlock, ALWAYS dispel Soul Rot + Phantom singularity with a normal dispel though. Whenever you see an affliction popping off doing 3k+ dps it's because those two dots are up doing AoE damage to your team during Dark Soul Misery. If you got access to a purge, purge of Dark Soul and the warlock can't put out pressure.
@@henrikswanstrom9218 eeeeexcuse me? If the affli is around 190ilvl even their nonburst UA crits like a truck. I faced an affli/sp/rsham in 3s and during affli burst priest mind games my parthner. I had the audacity to dispell that and it crit me for 25k (oneshotted me)
@@DubstepMusique UA dispel does not crit for 25k if it's a single dispel. Only way it hits that hard is if you dual or triple dispel UA's from an entire team. I'm 208 ilvl, my UA dispels do ~9k with trinkets up. Since crit modifiers are 175% dmg you can expect a 16k UA crit dispel. Not 25k.

@@DubstepMusique Was he playing with a Shaman having Skyfury up? Or possibly a disc priest giving Dark Arch Angel. Only other modifiers would possibly him having Haunt and Shadowy Embrace(10% + 12% extra dmg taken) on you when you dispeled which is highly unlikely as locks play with Drain Life and Pet Sac talents. 19k dispels only really happens when there's extra modifiers like skyfury. In normal occasions UA dispel usually crits ~15-16k with around ~10% crit chance. Fix your addons to announce when Skyfury or Dark Archangel is up on a warlock before you dispel his UA. My guess is the warlock popped all cooldowns with a skyfury totem, got Phantom Singularity and Soul Rot on your partner during which you tried to dispel everything which resulted in the 19k crit. As a druid your best response there is to moonfire the skyfury and barkskin yourself, then dispel everything to remove all pressure from the warlock.

No one ever said arcane? Arcane is never the best mage specc because if they get kicked they can't cast anything. They are still strong because of high damage but will never be the best out of the 3 unless fire and frost gets totally behind arcane in burst and dps. Only guy I could expect to say arcane is the best is ziqo but he always plays arcane no matter what so don't take what people like him say like it's the holy truth ^^ Anyways stick to arcane if you find it fun don't be a meta slave you can still climb high as any specc.
@@simkont6793 OK :-) Thanks for the reply! Then maybe it was "my understanding" but it was from videos from the channel and from Xaryu that I got it from that Fire was good in 3 vs. 3s but arcane was the best in overall pvp and Frost was more of a "dampening spec" - prolonging the match...

I could still see arcane be best for overall pvp if it's dueling world pvp and bgs maybe even some 2s comp that I don't know off but yep would never be as good in 3s since you are against 2 kicks atleast and if they have a rsham that's 3 kick to completely lock you out. Still playable though so gl:)

I have the same problem as a Disc priest. Root then silenced. Your only hope is to trinket and move out of the beam. Also pop your defensives and health stacking abilities right before if you can predict it.
I am with you there, enjoyed my warlock so much in pvp, playing decently good in arena, in SL it is like I have never played them, everything kills me, impossible to even throw a spell without stun/interrupted. So I thought "Finally the video I waited for! Maybe I can see now" seing through the video, no warlock, very disappointing.

Cole couldn’t agree more. I’ve Mained frost dk for as long as I can remember and I can’t do it anymore. I’ve been bouncing between arms and ret now.

Ret is amazing due to burst and uptime (cant slow the monk if blessing of freedom)

Blizzard balances according to 3v3 balance in high raitings, getting feedbacks from high rated streamers mostly... not 1400 raiting scrubs..

@akhs denlew thats true but even people at high rating were saying how easy it is to counter a mm hunter + after their burst window is gone they lose. The only people that struggle with mm are people that really arent good - its one of the most easily countered specs in the game

An affliction warlock should never have 3 UA's up. If he has, do not dispel all of them or you might get oneshot. UA dispel currently does ~5-6k damage hit and can crit.
Against an affliction warlock, ALWAYS dispel Soul Rot + Phantom singularity with a normal dispel though. Whenever you see an affliction popping off doing 3k+ dps it's because those two dots are up doing AoE damage to your team during Dark Soul Misery. If you got access to a purge, purge of Dark Soul and the warlock can't put out pressure.
@@henrikswanstrom9218 eeeeexcuse me? If the affli is around 190ilvl even their nonburst UA crits like a truck. I faced an affli/sp/rsham in 3s and during affli burst priest mind games my parthner. I had the audacity to dispell that and it crit me for 25k (oneshotted me)
@@DubstepMusique UA dispel does not crit for 25k if it's a single dispel. Only way it hits that hard is if you dual or triple dispel UA's from an entire team. I'm 208 ilvl, my UA dispels do ~9k with trinkets up. Since crit modifiers are 175% dmg you can expect a 16k UA crit dispel. Not 25k.
@@henrikswanstrom9218 don't have a screenshot of the first 25k dispel, but it happened to me again and i managed to SS it. It's 19.4k crit. I am 192ilvl resto druid with 20% vers, and i dispelled it only on one single target (rdruids dont have mass dispell).

@@DubstepMusique Was he playing with a Shaman having Skyfury up? Or possibly a disc priest giving Dark Arch Angel.
Only other modifiers would possibly him having Haunt and Shadowy Embrace(10% + 12% extra dmg taken) on you when you dispeled which is highly unlikely as locks play with Drain Life and Pet Sac talents.
19k dispels only really happens when there's extra modifiers like skyfury.
In normal occasions UA dispel usually crits ~15-16k with around ~10% crit chance.
Fix your addons to announce when Skyfury or Dark Archangel is up on a warlock before you dispel his UA. My guess is the warlock popped all cooldowns with a skyfury totem, got Phantom Singularity and Soul Rot on your partner during which you tried to dispel everything which resulted in the 19k crit. As a druid your best response there is to moonfire the skyfury and barkskin yourself, then dispel everything to remove all pressure from the warlock.

No one ever said arcane? Arcane is never the best mage specc because if they get kicked they can't cast anything. They are still strong because of high damage but will never be the best out of the 3 unless fire and frost gets totally behind arcane in burst and dps. Only guy I could expect to say arcane is the best is ziqo but he always plays arcane no matter what so don't take what people like him say like it's the holy truth ^^ Anyways stick to arcane if you find it fun don't be a meta slave you can still climb high as any specc.
@@simkont6793 OK :-) Thanks for the reply! Then maybe it was "my understanding" but it was from videos from the channel and from Xaryu that I got it from that Fire was good in 3 vs. 3s but arcane was the best in overall pvp and Frost was more of a "dampening spec" - prolonging the match...

I could still see arcane be best for overall pvp if it's dueling world pvp and bgs maybe even some 2s comp that I don't know off but yep would never be as good in 3s since you are against 2 kicks atleast and if they have a rsham that's 3 kick to completely lock you out. Still playable though so gl:)

I have the same problem as a Disc priest. Root then silenced. Your only hope is to trinket and move out of the beam. Also pop your defensives and health stacking abilities right before if you can predict it.

I am with you there, enjoyed my warlock so much in pvp, playing decently good in arena, in SL it is like I have never played them, everything kills me, impossible to even throw a spell without stun/interrupted. So I thought "Finally the video I waited for! Maybe I can see now" seing through the video, no warlock, very disappointing.
