I remember having this game on my computer when I was a kid... I don't know how or why it got there, but I remember having it, and playing the living hell out of it.
I finally found it after literally years of searching, didnt know what is called since I didnt read english back then. fucking played it for hours, building obstacles and playing it by myself. I could spend whole day creating one level, making sure details are beautiful, everything fits, OMG i want to cry, want those days back
WOW. making my own platformer stages on the kindergarden computer is genuinely one of my earliest memories. its so weird to see it now with a developed brain. the memory was so hazy,,, almost dreamlike..... years later and now i'm an actual game developer !! :D
This game only existed as an insanely early childhood memory, but my sister remembered the name of it for me recently so i was finally able to look it up! Watching this brings back so many memories i didn't even know i had.
I had been looking for this game for about 10 years. I didn't think that I will ever find it. Very glad to see that there is a community behind it and that it is not forgotten! This brings many good memories, just makes me smile and laugh. Cheers to the person who uploaded this and to all my fellow ''young'' gamers, hahah.
I feel like crying!! I have a love hate relationship with this Dumbass speedy eggbert back then. The sound effects made the 8 year old me mad af lmao. Sweet old time felt like it was yesterday considering I'm in my early twenties now :')
I think this was actually the first videogame I ever played. I remember my mom's heavy ass Windows 95 or 98 computer, IDK which one it was... She showed me this and I was fascinated. Had no idea this game had both multiplayer and Creative modes though, lol. GOD does this bring back memories of the early 2000's..... I wish I could go back to being a kid again
I think it's very interesting to explore games that were not part of your childhood, and then wonder what it would have been like to play them as a kid.
Man, I have three CDs of the game: Speedy Eggbert, Speedy Eggbert II and Planet Eggbert... I still remember when I played it in my grandmother's Windows 98! So nostalgic... and magic...
Me neightet! I guess i have played all speedy eggbert games! There was a car game from Egames where in some level you had a mission to transport him to other places. I think it was Wild Wheels
Did anyone else got this game from a eGames cd-rom full of other games like Safari Kong or Mini Car Racing (i think that was the name). If so, does anyone remember the name of a 2d game where you would pilot a spaceship in space, kill others and get minerals and stuff? Ive been trying to find it D: Edit: its Star Miner 😁
I'm pretty sure I downloaded a demo of this game from the old Happy Puppy website, many years ago. Just kinda' popped back into my head recently after spending ages forgetting it even existed.
Completely the same except for the name, afaik. Speedy Eggbert was made by Epsitec but published by eGames, whereas Speedy Blupi is fully owned by Epsitec. (I think it was a legal matter, maybe Epsitec didn't want to give eGames the "blupi" trademark or something like that)
I used to play this, or something like it (it had a level editor) at the local YMCA years ago... the old guy who ran that section of the place always loved talking about this game. Richie, his name was... I wonder if he's even still around these days.
I spent half of my childhood building endless mazes, parks, skyscrapers, castles, oceans, vulcanoes, cities, forests, islands, EVERYTHING I COULD IMAGINE, and I sure didn't waste a minute of my time.
So far I've found videos on 2 of the most memorable games I played when I was little, I can't remember the 3rd one. All I remember is it was a si fi point and click adventure set on what I think was an abandoned space ship and getting stuck at a part where a robot asked me a riddle about a postman.
These games really deserve to be on Steam, even as free titles. For now, though, thanks to JesseRoxll for his links: Speedy Eggbert: www.mediafire.com/download/gbh54lwm4mt2h4b/Speedy_Eggbert.zip Speedy Eggbert 2: www.mediafire.com/download/lr1m8jmzg8tjwv2/Speedy_Eggbert_2.zip
TheFingledorf The problem is that the dev is still selling the latest title in the Eggbert series (over a decade old at this point) for 40 bucks. The other titles are comparably priced. It's probably been a couple years since I last checked, but I doubt that's changed.
I used to love this game :D. Except that after losing all my lives once I pressed escape and started editing the game levels. I accidentally deleted the tutorial and the level select and I haven't been able to play since :(.
My friend used to have this game . . And I would always go over to his house, and say "Hey, can I play some Speedy Egg Bert?" and he would then answer "Sure!" :)
Oh my god....I used to play this when I was a young kid....You have opened a window into my past...epic!! Loved this game so much!
Wow me too.

Move over Fallout 4, a new game of the decade is here.
This makes me smile uncontrollably. Them memories indeed!
Speedy Eggbert? Damn, what many people don´t know: That´s a really good & tough Plattformer. Loved it back then.
Wow...so you're telling me this game wasn't just a fever dream?? This was my favorite game as a kid!!!
once you've heard the "EYE" sound he makes when you smash his head against a ceiling you can never forget it
I can confirm it
I am 16 now. I remember playing this when I was like 5. I loved this game. :D

I think it's very interesting to explore games that were not part of your childhood, and then wonder what it would have been like to play them as a kid.

That pee launcher vehicle is still the best vehicle created in a video game
I remember having this from BK when I was like 12! So many hours playing with the demo. :)
Man, I have three CDs of the game: Speedy Eggbert, Speedy Eggbert II and Planet Eggbert...
I still remember when I played it in my grandmother's Windows 98!

1st PC game, I will never forget it, nostalgia every time
Did anyone else got this game from a eGames cd-rom full of other games like Safari Kong or Mini Car Racing (i think that was the name).
If so, does anyone remember the name of a 2d game where you would pilot a spaceship in space, kill others and get minerals and stuff? Ive been trying to find it D:
Edit: its Star Miner 😁
+MikeLitoris - Star Miner?
+Don't Mind Me i also played that one, but i only found out a few days ago that it was called star miner, damn i felt so nostalgic
It was called Astro Blasters! There was also galactic invsasion as well.

This is the next best thing to Mario cause you can create your own map. So so nostalgic...
+Muhammad Hadi and people call mario maker the first of its kind. too bad speedy eggbert was SO underrated
I loved how it was like Mario on PC, because I loved Mario but wasn't allowed to own consoles.
I used to freakin love this game! I want it back!
I loved this game. Used to play it back in the early-mid 2000's
I'm pretty sure I downloaded a demo of this game from the old Happy Puppy website, many years ago. Just kinda' popped back into my head recently after spending ages forgetting it even existed.

I thought this game was a fever dream for YEARS
This just gave me so much childhood nostalgia oh my god
We're so close to a Speedy Eggbert video on RUclips passing 100K views...
And it did, 3 months later!
Is speedy eggbert the same as speedy blupi?
Completely the same except for the name, afaik. Speedy Eggbert was made by Epsitec but published by eGames, whereas Speedy Blupi is fully owned by Epsitec. (I think it was a legal matter, maybe Epsitec didn't want to give eGames the "blupi" trademark or something like that)
Thanks! Was wondering if there were any technical differences. Wanted to recreate my childhood past time with my friends
i used to watch my brother play this when we were growing up~! thank you!
I used to play this, or something like it (it had a level editor) at the local YMCA years ago... the old guy who ran that section of the place always loved talking about this game. Richie, his name was... I wonder if he's even still around these days.
i used to play this with my brother, good old times.
I spent half of my childhood building endless mazes, parks, skyscrapers, castles, oceans, vulcanoes, cities, forests, islands, EVERYTHING I COULD IMAGINE, and I sure didn't waste a minute of my time.
Finally. I used to play this in kindergarten, but never remembered its name.

Oh boy i loved this game back in the days. Spent hours building all kinds of crazy levels :)
This is the first size scrolling 2D platformer I ever played. The other platformers I played before this were either 3D or static
One of the first games I played on my old windows PC; Good times for sure.
So far I've found videos on 2 of the most memorable games I played when I was little, I can't remember the 3rd one. All I remember is it was a si fi point and click adventure set on what I think was an abandoned space ship and getting stuck at a part where a robot asked me a riddle about a postman.
Ha ha oh wow, I remember finding this on some demo disc years ago.
Same here! I got the first Eggbert when it came out! Version 1.0! and I got the second one from Amazon today!
Even though I played this as a kid I knew it sucked then, but it was all I had and I was happy to be playing on a computer.

I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who remembers this game.

RIGHT IN THE CHILDHOOD!
Holy shit.. I can vaguely remember playing this when I was about 3.
This game had MULTIPLAYER?!
My brother thought this game was so stupid but I still love it.
Jesus christ the nostalgia is too strong
OH MY GOD THE NOSTALGIA!
I played ALL the levels of this game when i was a kid haha :))
I remember this!
I remember this game came on a disk that had a bunch of arcade games on it
it was ahead of its age, should be remade as part of a legend series of games
I wish LGR or somebody would review this and other Epsitec games, they're pre-Steam indie classics.
We are the elitists of the world. Us eggbert players will soon be reunited again
I played this when I was 5 years old
I used to love this game :D. Except that after losing all my lives once I pressed escape and started editing the game levels. I accidentally deleted the tutorial and the level select and I haven't been able to play since :(.

Used to love playing this game when i was younger great times for sure
So much memories!
Incredible what can be found on YT :D
I loved this wen I was a kid
My mom bought a family computer and this was my first pc game. Omg ima re-download it when I get the chance
The game's music files are MIDI format, so depending on the sound card, it would use different instrument samples.
