First off, you’re enthusiastic and willing to take on a project like that. My hat’s off to you for that. I did a very similar chair restoration a few years ago. It’s all about patience, perhaps hand sanding instead of using a rotary tool. I get it. That tool gets the job done faster but alot of the time, whether it is in you or not, you are literally putting yourself IN that piece you’re restoring. My Philosophy is do it right or don’t do it. Take the extra hour, day, week to make it right or don’t bother. At the end, you’ll be glad you did and proud you did it right. My two cents. I have pictures of my restoration but from now on I’ll be filming all of them. I think that’s what it’s all about….. I show you things I’ve learned and question things I’ve watched others do so in the end we help each other make antiques look beautiful again. Wood is timeless. Btw, nice job!
