      they do a lot of work at Disney, but they also have many teams working on it at once so it takes less time. still takes a while but less time than one guy doing it alone. many hands make light work as the amish say.

    I saw this tutorial and got motivated to create one of my first videos on the channel. It took me about 5-6 hours and the result was pretty good compared to the time taken.
    I couldn't get started before. I wanted to learn everything in Animate and After Effects to have the perfect video. But this got me started. YOU got me started. I am so happy right now. Finally, after 2 years of just planning stories and music I am finally getting some work done.
    I have decided to bind myself under a time limit to make projects now.
    Had I not seen your video, I wouldn't have known that this is possible.
    YOUR hard work is helping SO MANY other people to work harder. It is just wonderful to see how a single person can affect so many people at once.
    I believe I am only going to move forward from here. I am never going to forget that I got started here. By you.

I studied TV production, but felt like I had no real focus or drive, and therefore never got what I probably could have from the learning experience. after graduating, I almost stopped creating stuff all together. This was back in 2018. Now, 2 years later, I have just finished rigging my first puppet which I created from scratch, with the hopes of making my very own animated series. This simply would not be the case if your videos didn't exist. Thank you for making me want to truly create art again. You are my sherpa, up the mountain of CH. Love from ya boi, Dave xxx

      I do wonder if you could do a video on your actual setup though. I know you showed us your microphone but what kind of Mac do you use, what web cam, etc. Just to get an idea on what the best setup is. Even to the level of how you light yourself while recording.

    • @okaysamurai
      @okaysamurai  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks! I'm using a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), use the built-in webcam, and either the AT2020 I show in this video or a CAD u37 usb mic. We try to make CH work as best it can without needing extra expensive equipment, but I do think that getting a better dedicated microphone is a good idea for any computer audio stuff. For lighting I'd say most of the time I'm just using the normal office lighting or natural light from an open window in my home office, but every once in a while I just pivot and shine a desk lamp at my face, nothing fancy there. Other than that, I have some cheap headphones and a mouse from Amazon and that's kind of it!

    DAVE!!!! noooooooooooo PLS!!!!!!!! ANOTHER TUTORIAL WITHOUT SUBTITLES

    • @okaysamurai
      @okaysamurai  5 лет назад

      I'm planning to add these manually. Because the video is so long, RUclips's automatic detection doesn't work, and because it's unscripted I don't have text to easily copy and paste. But I will be doing this within the next week - you're not the only one wanting this!

      @@okaysamurai use rev.com - don't do it manually! Sure, it'll cost $100 at almost two hours but adding subs manually for a 2-hour video is a day-long job

      I've used rev for a bunch of our videos and they transcription is spot on. You just send them the linknto the video and they'll send you the .srt file the same day

    @Okay Samurai, Please consider adding scripting ability in this software. May be, if we are able to do something like
    Walk(2s)
    Trigger("smile")
    Trigger("wow")
    will be great.

    Wow. It is crazy that you can do *all* of this (build out characters, facial mocap animation, video export, etc.) within Adobe. Very cool.

    Hey Dave, brilliant video. I’m new to character animator and this is just what I needed to get started. One or two places went a bit fast for me but I’ll just slow the video down at these. I’m really looking forward to going through some of your other videos. Many thanks. 👍🏻😎
