Thank you so much for coming back to us !!! I also thank you for replying, for some reason it didn’t come to me, but now I saw this video and you gave me the best answer. My baby is doing fine he is by himself,I think it’s because he was so timid and wasn’t the alpha obviously, now he feels OK by himself . 🐹
Glad to see you doing well, Shine! Congrats on getting through your move, and I'm excited for you to bond with new gerbies! 🐹 Also re: one of the questions asked, I wanted to share that I have had success with bonding a younger gerbil (Posey) and an older gerbil (Marigold) in the past. I recommend researching the "split cage method" for gerbils. To split the tank, you can get wire mesh for cheap at home improvement stores. Just make sure the mesh gaps are small enough to where the gerbils cannot bite each other, and that the wall is tall enough so that they cannot climb over to the other side. Do not introduce them without a barrier!! It might take a couple of weeks, but hopefully they'll end up cuddling next to each other on either side of the mesh 🩷 Good luck!
Happy to see you back as well. Super sorry for your loss. I lost not one but two gerbies since. Still got two, so I'm putting all my energy to give them the best. Happy to see you full of energy again!
Great to see you back with so much energy! More oto's please. My oto cocama are adorable and very active. Perhaps you could do some aquascaping. It really helps to stay balanced.

@finsandwhiskers Thank you so much for the quick reply! I have two otos left from a tank that was recently torn down, and they are now in a dark quarantine tub with many of their old plants, and I noticed that they start chasing each other any time I add several gallons of room temperature water to top it off.
We are here to support you no matter what! Welcome back Shine! We all missed you!
Keep up the great work! All the best and keep at it, you are very strong and I’m very happy and proud of you no matter what. ❤

Hi, I use Reptisand all natural terrarium sand, with NO calcium by Zoo Med@intergalacticangler
In your experience, did the adult otos ever eat their young?
No! They don’t :)
