She is a brilliant Aussie talent! For all those naysayers, watching her perform live is truly an experience you never forget. I have even seen her in a backyard concert by the sea......that concert was as memorable for me as watching Cindy Lauper on her 50th Birthday tour or Cat Stevens in Sydney in the 70s. Music is a gift and there are some singers that have something special. She does.
Such a talent is Karise. Your breakdown of this performance highlights the strategies she employs, details I haven't picked up before, to make this performance of Hallelujah so unique - as you say. Love your work. 😊
Nina, if you’d like to see how Karise looks now, there’s a group version of Adele’s song “Easy On Me” on RUclips. She’s the first singer and she’s blossomed into a lovely looking young lady. The other singers are listed on the intro in the order that they appear. Two of the others are competition winners as well, Chris Sebastian (Guy Sebastian’s brother) and Reece Mastin. All of them have good voices.
I'm loving your reactions Nina. And your charmingly informative 'in the moment' explanations for those of us not well-versed in musical knowledge, so 'know what we like when we hear it', but not really why. Thanks for sharing what you know. 🙂
Amazing Aussie talent! For a mind blowing vocalist though, Jack Jones (aka Irwin Thomas) will rip your heart out. Please react to “Hold me in your arms”, “Burn for you” or especially “Little Wing”. 🙏🙏🙏
Oh Nina , thanks for reacting to another Aussie performer . You did Delta and Gurrumi, recently which was wonderful. I know you’ve done others in the past. I just really enjoy the way you point out unique aspects of the performance . I like Karise sometimes but personally don’t prefer her version Of this song, but she does convey feeling in a soulful way
Remember she is 19yo here!....I have heard her sing "Simply the best" by Tina Turner (on RUclips long time ago) & it was better than Tina Turner singing!! SHE IS simply the BEST!
Remembering that this was a talent tv show so she would have had little to no imput on how she wanted to perform it. She would have just been doing her best with what Seal had told her to do 😢

The best singer of all the music TV competitions ever. She should’ve made more success.

Don’t you find everything Karise sings just drips with Karise.😊

Does not suit the song the slightest bit IMO. Good singing - but a terrible performance for my ears :\

Terrible. How many times can this song be mocked. I won't even watch the review.
Mocked?? Isn’t music open to interpretation both in listening to and to performing it? Which version is THE version for you?
