I have never seen a Pit Board crash like that. When the back end crashes, the front end simply doesn't updated. From the video, looks like the power to the device surged or something. There were various crashes and stuff that have been fixed in the latest version I sent you which may help.
Reason I suggested it is I also like to have a beer whilst racing. Just don't have the ability to chat and race without screwing up..so tend to stay quiet and sip on my beer!

I think we need a pint-o-meter for starts as you sounded a few sheets to the wind at the start!
