Wow. That's exactly how I feel. To this day when I see video of Kurt I want to keep him from what I know is coming, both in terms of the oppressive, all-consuming fame, and of course his death. I actually find myself apologizing to him.
Nah not me personally… I think he had to do what he had to do. And I respect him nonetheless. He doesn’t need my pity. Go get ‘em Kurt! Your name still rings loud and clear?
Seeing him joking and having fun mad me laugh at first, but then the fact that he’s gone and that he suffered so much came to my mind and I felt some sort of emptiness. He’ll forever be missed❤️
I know, it's a double-edged sword. So much of why I wanted to put this video together is because so much of Kurt's memory is tied up in sadness. I don't want that to be all people think of when they think of him. Kurt was a full person. He was really funny too, amongst so many other attributes.
“No one sees the funny side...” Sadly, that’s how I was from afar when Nirvana was high on scene. I was involved in other things at that time. @@tinab3001 Pixies. One of the most unique bands i've ever heard. Kurt Cobain literally idolized them. In this video, Kurt is talking about the Pixies lead singer when he says "Once you go Frank Black, you never go back". In the 80s, the mainstream wasn't ready for them, but the legends of the 90s alt rock scene were in awe of them. Or maybe they’re from someone who loves Nirvana so much that he/she finds these kind of video of wet teen worship as something pathetic and an insult to Kurt Cobain memory and to what Nirvana defended, where KC personality is treated and analized to the point of ridicule with the same images and comments over and over again, like it was something new, funny or added any value.. And people still wonder why he chose to leave party early...
I feel the same way. Kurt Cobain's voice is so reassuring and calming to my soul. I was so used to hearing his singing/screaming that I was genuinely shocked when I first heard his speaking voice.
He had an extremely dry, wry, mocking subtitle wit.. I'd say British almost with a little bit of sophomoric geeky highschool madcap silly humour mixed in...
1:03 This illustrates so well why I've always tended to like Krist so much. Also, Kurt's reaction feels so much how my best friend in school would react to me so many times... This feels bittersweet to watch...
I see it like a younger brother looking up to his older brother and that older brother also happens to be a genius at something the younger one's really into. I would just be like "please, let me learn from you big bro" with a stupid look on my face. It's kind of cute to me how Dave defers to Kurt. You can tell there was a lot of respect there.

I wish I could pin more than one comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to post that. That pretty much sums up why I made this video! I'm so tired of the common perception that's out there about Kurt Cobain. I wanted more people to see Kurt as just a normal, sweet, funny guy. I'm genuinely so happy you had the takeaway you had after watching this!
He actually wasn’t super deep into Heroin until the end of his life.....it’s kinda sad. He thought the whole “drug addict” thing added to his public persona/artistry, but wasn’t actually doing as much of it as he said. BUT, at one point he just ended up going crazy with drugs because people already thought he was doing them. He created a persona/Caricature of himself to help sell his music, but eventually became that person.
A lot of heroin addicts are polite & somewhat decent people but just got sucked into some bad shit. They might steal change out of your car if you leave the door unlocked but they usually won't break your car window to get in & aren't typically doing violent robberies. Meth addicts on the other hand tend to not really give a fuck about having a victim. It's not always the case but it seems like heroin users do "victimless" crimes like stealing & pawning shit rather than armed robbery or something where they are knowingly hurting someone.
Why don’t people remember this side of nirvana they only remember the sad depressing side that’s only there because of what sadly happened to kurt cobane
They're all good natured guys, including Pat Smear and Chad Channing too. Very mellow off-stage. I'm glad they really cared for each other... best they could. Like a band of brothers should. Thanks for the tunes, guys.

It’s just so tragic his life ended the way it did. He was a genius and I think if he had the right people around him he could have lived a happy life. He is missed
I agree.
It's still hard to reconcile with the fact he's gone :( but someone's never dead if they are remembered. These interviews are the shit
It's so depressing that he got murdered
@sabbracadabra nah, it's the more plausible scenario.
@sabbracadabra that he was murdered. That's just my opinion tho.
i love kurt’s speaking voice so much, it’s so calming to me, i would totally listen to it when i’m feeling anxious (which happens quite a lot,,)
Soo calming! I'm glad Kurt's speaking voice calms your anxiety. I can relate
I don‘t know why but I thought the part when the interviewer tells him he‘s a nice guy was kinda wholesome
I'm so glad you appreciated that. I've always thought it was wholesome and very sweet of her to recognize that in Kurt and to say it to him on camera.
@@rebellious-jukebox-on-film238 I feel like most interviews with bands at the time were so impersonal. Like the interviewers either acted like they were talking to gods or to worthless junkies (esp. true with Scott Weiland).
That interviewer acted like they were talking to an actual human being, I loved to see it.
@@miaferrari958 Yeah interviews did seem to be more showbizy back in the 80s up to the late 90s. The interviewers, it seems wanted to perpetuate the glamorous/cool rock star image instead of having genuine curiosity about who the person was behind that stereotype. I didn't get that feeling at all with this interviewer. Haha maybe cuz she is Canadian, they have a different outlook on American pop culture
@@rebellious-jukebox-on-film238 funny you should mention the interviewer's nationality because I was thinking that the other interview I saw which looked more like a friendly interaction between people, was one of STP and a British woman.
@@miaferrari958 Yep that's the commonality then. Interviewers who asked thoughtful questions at the time not being American!

frances is so beautiful too. ^-^
"Idk, you've never met me before..."
This is should be every artists motto to their fans. U like their music n their perceived style. U dont know the person
I think what's so hard for everyone is how many of us see him almost like a friend we all knew but we couldn't protect him the way he needed to be protected.

He’ll forever be missed❤️
I know, it's a double-edged sword. So much of why I wanted to put this video together is because so much of Kurt's memory is tied up in sadness. I don't want that to be all people think of when they think of him. Kurt was a full person. He was really funny too, amongst so many other attributes.
@@rebellious-jukebox-on-film238 I really appreciated what you did with this video. Thank you so much for uploading it

Sadly, that’s how I was from afar when Nirvana was high on scene. I was involved in other things at that time. FF to 2019, I finally came to my senses because of a music genre study. I found the super unique grunge/rock so exciting, and the humor! Love, love Nirvana so much now, think Kurt was a sweet genius. Blessings Kurt, Krist, Dave and Pat.
Any band recommendations for someone who would enjoy Nirvana?
@@tinab3001 Pixies. One of the most unique bands i've ever heard. Kurt Cobain literally idolized them. In this video, Kurt is talking about the Pixies lead singer when he says "Once you go Frank Black, you never go back". Their sound changed my perception of what music could be, like it did for so many musicians that came after them. In the 80s, the mainstream wasn't ready for them, but the legends of the 90s alt rock scene were in awe of them. They can be a bit jarring to new listeners, i'd suggest starting with the song "where is my mind" and then this: ruclips.net/video/lddDZjEZam0/видео.html

It really is quite soothing. Kurt's singing voice and his speaking voice are so different. I was taken aback the first time I heard Kurt's speaking voice.
Hes a Pisces. Extremely grounded and empathetic. Hes the kind that can see into your soul.

And people still wonder why he chose to leave party early...
his voice comforts me so much, he can talk about water and i won’t complain
I feel the same way. Kurt Cobain's voice is so reassuring and calming to my soul. I was so used to hearing his singing/screaming that I was genuinely shocked when I first heard his speaking voice.

He comes across as a very likeable, kindhearted guy!
I love him so muchhh R.I.P KURT🖤
Why don’t people remember this side of nirvana they only remember the sad depressing side that’s only there because of what sadly happened to kurt cobane
