Ryan and Jason are much better than Rodger. I love rodger as a voice actor but I never liked him as Sonic outside of Sonic Boom

@@bowtiefries true but if we're going by characterisation, outside of tails, cream and charmy, none of the main cast are really characterised as kids anymore

Even voice actors aside, I wish we got a bit more lines from Sonic interacting with random enemies/bosses.
Like Sonic saying “Is that size just for show?” to Giganto. I wish we saw him become a lot more scathing in his banter/comments when he goes Super like here.

Ryan Drummond's voice was a good establishment for the character in the games. Jason Griffith's voice was expansion and evolution for the character of sonic also in the games.
I love Jason Griffith voicing sonic it makes him sound younger since he is literally a teenager, I respect roger Craig Smith voicing sonic but he makes him sound old
Thank you for the showcase! I like how you added lines to the cutscenes to make this video more dramatic. I wish I could find a way to mod Jason’s voice into every cutscene without using AI… maybe a side project could be using one of those voice models and replicating Jason’s tone myself, though that would be controversial I imagine.
Anyway, I would like to share a quick word. This mod was mostly complete last year, but there were several things that needed adjusted, so I decided to revisit it. The update wasn’t much, just a few clips being switched out and audio being boosted so it matched the level of the unmodded game (I tend to have everything turned down by a ton, so I was caught off guard by people having issues there). However, the most time-consuming process was figuring out the triggers for each of the voicelines.
Frontiers audio files are weird, and the file names aren’t much help. The metadata gives you a move number and that’s about it. I had to scrounge through the entire game to make a key, and it’s still incomplete due to a select few obscure lines that keep eluding me. However, as far as I know, the key I made is the most complete one (or maybe the only one) available for anyone who wants to mod the game, so I feel like the time I spent was well worth it!
With that said, I hope everyone watching likes my mod and tries it out!

You should add the "feeling good" line to the loop kick. Make him say feeling when doing the loop and good when he kicks the enemy.
Would be a neat idea, but the issue is that this move has two parts to the voiceline, and whenever you perform an action, the line used is *random.* What would end up happening is Sonic saying half of the phrase, and then another voiceline plays.

I think Jason does a better job with this version of Sonic then Roger ever did. Mostly because his voice fits the model perfectly. Roger Craig Smith did a better job as boom Sonic then main line.

That sentence alone IS horrible to say because it will have an effect in careers.
AI will never be able to replace voice actors like that. AI requires real voice samples from actual voice actors in order to replicate a voice.

If you like Jason, you like Jason, but his Sonic impression feels like it can't make up its mind between low and high pitched, and that shit is distracting for me
He's a fan favorite (God knows why) but he just misses for me
He's energetic so obviously he's not always gonna be talking in the same pitch. It perfectly represents sonics chatcarcter as a speedy cool hedgehog. And besides all that, changing the pitch of your voice is how u create depth to the character so honestly bro it's a 'you' problem

@lilsoonerfaninmo it adds emphasis to what he's saying. By making the last part of the sentence louder and more refined it makes him feel powerful and unstoppable. U can hear sonics attitude in his voice which just perfectly portrays the character. If u can't see that then mabey u just don't like sonic. There is a reason that 90% of the fan base prefers Ryan or Jason yk 🙄

But all of this sounds like cope to me. I've listened to him in X, Unleashed, and Black Knight. It gets better towards Black Knight, but none of it has any rhyme or reason for it. It just.....happens. Nothing is strategically emphasized thanks to this quirk of his voice work. Really just feels like a 28 year old was trying to be a 15 year old
