You can see the sources where it's pulling the data from. I still use a keyword tool to plug my info in from Perplexity, but don't use ahref or semrush anymore as they are too expensive. Great question. Perplexity by design is a search engine, and I use it to search the entire scope of the web. You could probably arrive to the same results using just ChatGPT...eventually, but would require more thought, more prompting and a bit of fiddling around. Even ChatGPT Search doesn't have the same quality of result as Perplexity does (yet).
I did some comparisons on one of my earlier videos, with a side by side results of the same prompt in Perplexity vs ChatGPT. Perplexity just gives you more.
The question is how do you know which long tail keywords or backdoor keywords you are going to target without knowing the domain authority and difficulties?
