1. It had not broken up.
2. It had joined CENTO and SEATO becoming an Ally of the USA & receiving Patton Tanks and Field Guns from USA.

5. The leadership of Sri Sastri was untested.

The irrelevance of Pakistani Army against India can be gauged from the fact that DHA Phase 8 of *DHA LAHORE* developed & maintained by Pakistani Army is about 3 Kms from India Pakistan border as it knows there will be never a battle between India & Pakistan. Pak Army is a gang of feudals who in the garb of national security want & try to have complete control over all the resources of Pakistan leaving about 90% of the public struggling to meet their daily needs

Pakistan or China or both together will never allow Kashmir to remain an Independent State. If Modi's action is a stupidity then such studipity is an welcome move. Pakistan does not have such strong digestive system to consume whole Kashmir. Now, Kashmiris understand the reality and destiny of Kashmir. Kashmir can survive only by becoming a part of Union of India. No other option is available.

The fact that Pakistan is dying and these Pakistani intellectuals started the conversation with Kashmir shows the intelligence of entire Pakistan on the matter of home affairs. People of Kashmir have already rejected the idea of Pakistan but Pakistan is a lover boy who cant handle the rejection and they will make sure that the Pakistani people die of hunger and basic sanitation/heath issues, not questioning its entire past and rich making money out of it.

If Pakistan and Pakistanis wants Kashmir to be neutral, In that case why Pakistan send army to Kashmir to capture. The whole conflict started after raiders started war in Kashmir.
The whole conflict started when hindu maharajah decided to stall the process of accession by delaying . He should have acceded to Pakistan as kashmir was a Muslim majority, all rivers entered pakistan, all roads and sole rail link it had with india was through Pak. If the country was being divided on the basis of religion then Kashmir should have gone to Pakistan just like Hyderabad and Junagadh and bikaner, Jaisalmer Etc became part of india.

Nothing was done before signing of instrument of accession, case in point referendum in Junagadh was also held after the prime minister of then Nawab, Mr. Shahnawaz Bhutto signed instrument of accession to India.

No. As for Junagadh, it initially signed the instrument in favour of Pakistan but india blockaded the territory and then forced the accession to be signed in favour of india. Let’s be honest. Would india let kashmir be independent had partition not happened and entire british india would have transformed into a united india? Never. When india didn’t allow any state to remain independent then why kashmir? And as for kashmir, the maharaja despite signing the standstill agreement kept on delaying his decision which coincided with the Jammu massacre after which the tribals/Pak entered.Kashmir had no place in india post partition, neither demographically nor geographically.

Second Balochistan was not one princely state but consisted of 4 princely states namely Kalat Lasbela Kharan and Makran along with the province of Balochistan which formed the northern most part of the present day Baluchistan province . Only kalat wasn’t acceding to Pakistan, the rest acceded to Pakistan willingly and before kalat.Kalat was never invaded but decided to sign the instrument of accession when it saw that it had a weak case of being independent and when Quaid e Asam himself negotiated with khan of Kalat. Unlike india which literally invaded Hyderabad and Junagadh with forces.

Mr Zaidi’s comment regarding Mujibur Rahman being convicted in the Agartala conspiracy case and being released in early 1970 by Yahya Khan is incorrect. Mujib was not convicted and was released in Feb 1969 during Ayub Khan’s rule. My Shoukat Ali Dy Speaker of Bangladesh parliament did accept in Feb 2011 that all charges of treason against Mujib were true. He was also an accused in the case so fully aware of the facts.

370 was abrogated in 2019 not in 2023. If anything, Kashmiris are happy today with more integration with India. SC has merely put a seal of approval on something that was done in 2019.

There are few facts regarding 370 Mr Zaidi got wrong, but some opinions he got right:-
1) 370 and 35 A were temporary provisions of Indian constitution signed by Maharaja of Kashmir and not Sheik Abdula...Sheik Abdula and Nehru were friends both were Kashmiri..and socialists ..they both were against Pakistan.
2) Mr Zaidi is right about 370 bringing all political parties in Kashmir together..but fact is that general public in Kashmir has started to give up the idea of violence..it might change in future but as it stands. Also protests in Gilgit Baltistan to join India is seen with interest in Kashmir...ideally they want to be free..but if they can't then they grudgingly prefer to stay with India.
3) With regards removal of 370 increasing land purchase is false idea. For BJP it was there election promise that in one country you can't have two flags two constitution etc. By the article like 370 exist in other states in India..but they all can be amended..when needed..nothing is set in stone.
4) I am Kashmiri Pandit..so I m a bit biased but at the same time..I do have a better understanding..if you do voting by regions in J&K with only India and Pak option..then Azad Kashmir will vote for Pak, Jammu, Laddak and most of Kashmir will vote for India...but area around Srinagar might vote of Pak based on political situation around the time of voting..I think it will be similar in Gilgit ..most likely will vote for Pak but could vote for India based on political situation...so I think practical solution will be changing LOC to international border..and I think Pak and India are starting to work on this..Pak will make Gilgit as new province.

2) The people of GB are not Kashmiri and have no right to vote in a plebiscite.

4) People of Azad Kashmir do not have the right to vote on plebiscite. The majority of people in Azad Kashmir are Punjabi. The people from Laddakh are not Kashmiri and again do not have the right to vote in Plebiscite.

Thus validating the 2 nation theory and scrapping the idea of akhand bharat. And you really think that India had no backing back then? It had complete support of UK USSR and France. India wasn’t alone in 1971. It had an advantage I’ve tied enemy no other nation ever had ie completely surrounding Bangladesh on three of its sides with Pakistan having no border link to East Pakistan, to top it up a much larger army against Pakistan. It was no miracle if india won.
2 nation theory was not agreed by INC but India opted for peace and didn't hold itself hostage to the anti 2 Nation Theory - albeit India wasn't capable to to turn Bangladesh into India but neither was the intent. So I guess we'll have to settle with the argument that the 2 Nation Theory has stood the test of time but it comes with a caveat that the Nation carved BY the PEOPLE on Cultural/Linguistic grounds have done better ie Bangladesh whereas the autocratic bureaucracy state (Pak) hasnt done well.
