I remember watching you back in the day in Syd/Mel when I worked there in the early to late 90s, tough fighter, technically brilliant and heart of gold in every fight, a real inspiration to any martial artist.
Before this video I've never heard of mr. Super kick here but damn the man can fight doubling and tripling up on kicks and using his hands... Beautiful art is all i see you have brilliant back kicks
I had the great joy of watching (or maybe officiated as timekeeper - it's all so long ago, I'm not sure) your fight with Paul Grima. I walked away so impressed to see someone whose primary weapon was a kick win in such emphatic fashion against a tough, walk-up fighter who never took a step back. I was also really pleased that you gave Paul his due and thanked him for taking the fight after so many other Australian kickboxers had talked the talk and then ran away when you accepted their challenges. Your battle with Paul and Alex Tui's world championship winning fight in Sydney are probably two of my favorite live fights of all time. I'm also delighted to hear that you have moved on from martial arts and now have your own career. So many fighters from back in the day struggled to find a direction once they left the game.
Your style was my inspiration to include more of the high-flying fancier kicks in my kickboxing. I have had people comment what I did was not "kickboxing" but I told them it was what worked back in the day when it started and it still works as long as you can do it correctly. Thank you.
steve and ramon dekkers are reason i started kickboxing im a big fan and have nothing but respect and admirtion for the masters i hope to have but a meer fraction of they're talent one day
i used to track Vick's progress back in the day before MMA and BJJ went mainstream. I used to love Blitz martial arts magazine! Very talented and under-rated Aussie fighter.
Hey Steve , my dad used to work with you at interport . His name was John Davis and mine is Simon . Me and my spike haircut used to ogle over you as a kid 🤣 I did my time with Ken Huxley all the years later after idolising you as a boy. I used to come up and talk about work and the like at events . You would always remember the big fight at work that time 😂 cheers mate , great memories ❤
@loco320 Hi Loco, thanks for the compliment. All jump kicks are legal in kickboxing, however, not necessarily that effective. About the only ones I would advise using, and only at a high level, would be the jump spinning back kick. You need to be quick and accurate but this can be a lethal kick to the face in defense or a powerful attack when you have someone on the back foot. The only other jumping kick that is effective is the tornado kick, but you need to be very proficient before attempting.
is this superkick vick posting or just a big fan of his? either way i appreciate the videos, he is now my favorite martial artist. and ive learned alot of tips on sparring just from watching these videos.
Dude ur my idol! u inspired me to pick up self training in taekwondo for my kickboxing i have a question tho...... is like... all jumpkicks from tkd Legall in kickboxing?? reply please :)
You can see the sheer frustration of all his opponents, who btw I wouldn't challenge in a friendly game of Thumb War lol, but I have to ask, how could you not be prepared & ready to receive a Roundhouse kick and triple at that, from a guy who specializes in giving them with precise accuracy!
I would like you to do basic and advanced leg stretching and kick video if possible would be a nice thing to learn for pro when internet is giving us chance to communicate on such large scale and by the display of your skill i think we can all learn so much from you
Steve, I love kickboxing, I just love the kicks I do it very good!, but I haven't make any knockout.. and I've watchinig you, and you're awesome. What's your favorite kick?!
great videos steve vick, iv enjoyed watching them, you train people now? or have you finished all together, as i read somewhere you say its a thugs sport lol
I saw a fight in a compilation where u were facing a guy in red shorts who was really furious at you in the ring, anyone know what fight this was? I would love to see it.
Robbie Warner good for you for trying to talk to a legend instead of a keyboard Warrior you have my respect and although I'm a martial arts instructor I will not try to step in and try to take credit I hope Vick answers you best of luck sir I sure you go all the way with your MMA career

Massive inspiration on my career and training. So many great fights. Thank you for being so awesome mate.
I remember as a young fighter seeing him on the magazine's man he's skilled and tough what an Aussie legend 👍
Nice video, the edits were quality and the timing of course was great, as a lot of your ko's hit with the music beat.
The technical ability is astounding, his timing, power and precision, just a fighting machine
best highlights video i have ever seen
Men!!! Why haven't more fighters like this after 1990 in the world 😲🤔😲🤔??

Hi Steve! i have an mma fight coming up soon and i was wondering what kind of spin kicks do you think are most pratical for a cage fight.
Robbie Warner good for you for trying to talk to a legend instead of a keyboard Warrior you have my respect and although I'm a martial arts instructor I will not try to step in and try to take credit I hope Vick answers you best of luck sir I sure you go all the way with your MMA career
What's that song?I like it.
Muse invincible
Actually is "Showbiz"... amazing song by the way
Mike Lee forget about the song it's about enjoying a great fighter watch vh1 or mtv if you want music
quá hay
grettins from spain!!
Absolute weapon. Give a kangaroo a run for his money for sure. ❤
The refree at 2.06 is stupid and caused that guy to take punches the refree is supossed to dive inbetween
This guy got cleaned up by Alex TUI twice, lets see those highlights
Yes, he did but he was still an excellent kickboxer. In my opinion, the best was Peter "Sugarfoot" Cunningham, he was way faster, flashy & powerful.
This gentleman beat my uncle Grant Keneally for the Australian title I think it was
Vinnie Shoreman sent me here
Goddamn kangaroo good show 😲😂
buen video mala musica
Magic . Thats y u call it kb..... pity about music
Jesus Mary and Joseph, the music pick was demonically bad. It hurt my soul. Thank God for mute function.
Joe Rogan said a few times that Tae Kwon Do is basically useless.
Just goes to show, it's not the style so much as how you train in it.
BADALEX that's a smart martial artist you are even though I like and respect your Rogan even he makes a lot of stupid responses this is one of them
BADALEX joe rogan its dumb. He say kung fu and karate does not work, in reality they work.
Thumbs up for video, thumbs down for shit ass music.
Pity boit music
