I can't believe I just found out about this, Oct 30, 2023... How did I not hear from anyone?! RIP, Geoff. :( STAY HEALTHY, PEOPLE!!! Your HEALTH is EVERYTHING!
i think a lot of people think the same. me included. i was broken when i heard of his death. took me about 3 days to really comprehent that. it's nearly 5 years now and i am still very sad about it. Rest in Peace Geoff "INcontroL" Robinson :(
He got recalled to the big nexus in the sky to fight off a cannon rush! He was a great person, the Starcraft community took a big loss. It won't be the same without him. Hope he's in a better place. RIP Geoff, iNcontroL.
My favorite two memories of Geoff showed two different sides of him. One is when he casted together with 2GD and they started mercilessly ripping on each other. The other is one day while he was streaming Xcom 2 somebody donated 50 dollars to Geoff. He was so thankful and humble, it really showed what a kind guy he was. I agree that people could misjudge Geoff because of his boisterous mood and personality, we got to see a different side of him through his stream. I wish he'd gotten more time here with us.
Oh man, the tears still! Grateful to watch as it helps my healing. Grateful it popped up as a recommendation. I was so deeply sad by Geoff's passing I couldn't watch SC2 for over a year. A friend reminded of gsl in August and I remembered why I didn't remember....no more InControl. I watched and continue to, cuz SC2 is part of my life therapy again.🙌 I appreciate hearing your words and knowing about Geoff more through you. Mahalo nui loa. Rest in Aloha Geoff! A hui hou (till we meet again).💫🌺
Two years on and I still miss him more than I can really put into words, and I didn't even get a chance to know the guy. He brought me back to esports and now I've been a semi-pro coach and am trying to start my own organization. Because of Geoff. Can't imagine what it's like for those of you who got the chance to know this man on a personal level.
It gets better after introspection. My mom's younger sister died on my birthday, but my birthday and my Mom's birthday is one day apart. I choose to celebrate anyway and celebration of someone's life is also worthy of our time.🙌💫
Lost a very good friend the same way this February. He was only 27. Doppler(sNARUD) and iNcontroL may you rest in peace. Gonna turn my life around. It's just as important for us all to stay healthy.
What a fitting tribute Nick. I miss him already. I hope for a tribute tournament, iNcontrol cup or something along those lines. The SC community will never quite be the same without his presence. We love you Geoff, May you rest in peace.
Even after this week since his passing, just seeing his face reminds me that we'll never see him again with his incredible humor and banter. It just doesn't seem real still. The entire esports scene lost a giant. My sincere condolences to his close friends and family. An absolute tragedy. Thank you, Nick.
It is truly a huge loss. I haven't followed sc2 closely the past years, but still every time when I saw an sc2 stream on twitch with incontrol in it I would watch it and enjoy it immensely.
I love this. It’s beautiful how it takes you until the last couple minutes to speak of him in the past tense. My brother passed away suddenly, about a month ago. There’s no short cut to dealing with something like this. Take comfort in the good memories.
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Nick, I know you don't participate in the social media/spotlight stuff as much as some other people, and I totally get it. So its great to hear your stories, and your memories. I appreciate you very much. May Geoff's memory be eternal.
Wait.. this isnt fake? FML I was just listening to him casting Need Vs Scarlet and thinking to my self I cant wait to hear him cast again, he has some interesting points and is funny as well RIP man the SC2 scene lost a damn fine man
Thanks Tasteless, I really enjoyed hearing about your memories of Geoff. Never met the guy but I've been following him and watching him for around ten years. He felt like a good friend. I really miss him.
I never met them, but for some reason I really missed Incontrol and Total Biscuit today. They added so much fun to SC2. Thank you for this great video.
I was too young at the time to know who incontrol was, really until now, but I’m glad I do! You did him a great honor Tasteless the way you talked about him. Im glad that you and artosis can still to this day cast brood war and do what you love
That was one of the quickest 20 minutes ever. I havent watched any starcraft at all the last few years but back when i did, Geoff was always so fun to watch. Vila i frid.
geoff was such an amazing guy. met him in person once during home story cup and had a great time, while taking ur money in poker ;). we talked about the tourney and and had a blast about emil and me drinking way too much. his reaction the next day was just professional. miss u badly and looking forward to hscXX wich will be a blast.
Awesome guy. Awesome talent. Massive loss to our community. Thank you for this tribute and the reminder that we have a short time to make great memories. Let's be excellent to each other. Thank you Tasteless.
I am 33 also, which makes me consider my own life alot... I cried when i found out. He was part of my life even though i never met him and i dont think this is fair that hes gone now. Ill remember him every time i watch starcraft. all my love to his family and friends.
the news of his passing was devastating. I was definitely wrecked for about a week. It's been nice seeing all the tribute videos from the SC2 community pillars. Thank you for this episode, Tasteless
Thanks for sharing your story, for a lot of us who followed SC2 but didn't know him personally, it's amazing to hear how great of a guy he was in person.
Geoff was truly an exceptional person, an outstanding caster, and a comedic genius. I wish I had said that to him more often while he was alive. Thanks for sharing the memories Tasteless, take care of yourself and thank you (and Artosis) for the many hours of entertainment you've provided me over the last ten years. Even though I've never met you guys, you feel like friends, and I really appreciate the work you do. Rest easy Geoff, the world was a better place because of the light you brought into it.
Totally shocked to hear this podcast. I don't get to spend as much time on my pc as I used to but I watched the SC2 Rog casts recently and couldn't understand why Geoff wasn't there. I found him to be very funny, knowledgeable and truly a great caster. Such a young age too. My heart goes out to anyone who knows Geoff and thank you so much for this Podcast Tasteless. Geoff you will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace.
Thanks for this Tasteless. I've been mulling over Geoff's death for the past week and it's been weird and hard. I never met or knew Geoff, but I felt like I knew him more than any TV/movie celebrity that I've seen a hundred times. Such was his power and perspective in the community. His death, coupled with two other deaths in my close relations recently, have been hard to process. But your thoughts and tributes are comforting. As someone Geoff's age, it's given me a new perspecitve on life. Also, yes, go and seek the help you need. It's not weird, it's vital and important.
Watched him compete through SC2 release, hadn't heard of him before. When he became a caster in NASL it was the best pound for pound laughs outside of Comedy Central, Watched his stream a number of times but it never really caught with me. Then he died. Pretty much around that moment I realized just how much of an awesome person I was lucky to see. He's still my SC2 announcer, a god, more than that, an amazingly funny person. Never met him, still miss him.
Geoff was one of the first streamers i ever watched on justin.tv & his NASL stuff, his stream got me into SC2 & DnD, also found out about a bunch of other cool streamers & people through following him, grew up from my teens and early twenties watching Geoff and you guys stream/cast/host SC2 ... still cant believe he is gone....thanks for all the hours of laughter & fun memories, Geoff truly was one of a kind!
Great tribute man. The more I learn about Geoff the more I realize what a force of nature the guy was. One thing that's crazy to me it's how he would mention wanting to "get into" comedy like open mics and stuff like that. I know he had a lot of other things going on, but it sometimes seemed like he didn't feel like he was funny enough to do those things, despite the fact he was one of the most hilarious people in the entire esports scene and already had thousands of fans who loved him for the brand of comedy he was already bringing to everything else he did. I will miss him a lot and lately have just been getting sort of frustrated when I see his face online now. The whole thing just seems so unfair and wrong that he's gone. I don't want to make his passing into a statement or anything, because there were obviously a lot of variables at play, but I just can't understand how an otherwise healthy and fit 33 year old man, surrounded by support and people who love him, could pass from something that should have been detectable and treatable. I feel like part of it was a systemic failure, and terrible luck. Hindsight is 20/20, sure, but I wish so bad this had been prevented. I only knew Geoff from watching him online, but I feel like that was enough to know that he wouldn't want us allowing his departure to keep us from the things we love doing, but I just haven't been able to look at Starcraft the same since he's been gone, it makes me too sad to even boot up the game right now. Much love to tasteless and artosis, as well as everyone else who lost a friend and a brother.
I only really became a big fan of Geoff through his rollplay games with JP. His background as a debater makes a lot of sense now seeing how he played his character Vincent Longhorn, absolutely hilarious guy. He will be missed, but I'm glad to come back to vids like this and day9's just to remember Geoff.
Geoff Robinson was born on the same exact day Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb's all-time hits record. That season, Rose had a teammate named Ron ROBINSON, who wore #33 - the age Geoff passed at. Robinson was the second man you could see congratulating Rose. The first was Ted Power. Geoff was a POWER lifter. As dark as this event was, please know that God is 'iN controL' of this world, and everything happens according to His plan. You will all get to see Geoff again one day.
I did not watch SC2 for about two years, I came back when Afreeka did their Supertournament. I then decided to see if Nick and Arty were doing any tube content on their own as watching them made me realize I missed them.... and I just stumbled on this... I had no idea. He seemed like a wonderful person and a true entertainer, I really liked him. Rest in peace Geoff.
I can't believe I just found out about this, Oct 30, 2023... How did I not hear from anyone?! RIP, Geoff. :( STAY HEALTHY, PEOPLE!!! Your HEALTH is EVERYTHING!
Still think about my man Geoff. Never knew you personally, met you once. You were awesome. Cheers.
i think a lot of people think the same. me included. i was broken when i heard of his death. took me about 3 days to really comprehent that. it's nearly 5 years now and i am still very sad about it. Rest in Peace Geoff "INcontroL" Robinson :(
I checked into him. We really lost a beautiful human being. Guy was brilliant and we are less off as human beings with him gone.
I still really miss Geoff and i miss his stream.
I loved the Barristan cam.
You really did this well Nick. Thank you.
Rest in Peace iNcontroL. Hope you come back as a dragoon
He got recalled to the big nexus in the sky to fight off a cannon rush!

Still miss you man
Geoff was the funniest caster, he made me laught so many times..
Damn, I just want him back.
Dude is a SC Legend, and always will be. He brought many smiles to many faces. Thanks for the memories, you did it your way!
Great tribute for your friend, I am sorry for your loss Nick. Hang in there
Oh man, the tears still! Grateful to watch as it helps my healing. Grateful it popped up as a recommendation. I was so deeply sad by Geoff's passing I couldn't watch SC2 for over a year. I just thought of him as well. Death is such a depressing thing to think about. I hope there’s an afterlife of some sort :(
Can't believe it's almost been a year already. He passed on my birthday, I'll never forget the awful feeling. Miss him a lot. :(
It gets better after introspection. My mom's younger sister died on my birthday, but my birthday and my Mom's birthday is one day apart. I choose to celebrate anyway and celebration of someone's life is also worthy of our time.🙌💫
So heartbroken. Been a part of my "starcraft life" for 9 years, always so clever and fun. RIP
Lost a very good friend the same way this February. He was only 27.

Gonna turn my life around. It's just as important for us all to stay healthy.

Great idea still!
Beautiful and touching tribute. Thank you so much! RIP Incontrol
hey INcontroL keep TotalBiscuit company up there.
@Sorrious Sad maybe not for us peasants. But lets not forget they are more the god-emporer type :)
@Sorrious Sad Learn to read the mood.
@Not Well you only get one shot whether theres an up there or not.
I loved Geoff’s commentary, SC2 will never be the same. Geoff was all in on making the SC2 scene amazing
Thanks for sharing Nick, I would love to hear more stories of your time with Geoff.
Thank you Nick for sharing
He is a big reason I started watching E-Sports... I will miss Geoff alot. This literally brought me to tears when I found out...
Even after this week since his passing, just seeing his face reminds me that we'll never see him again with his incredible humor and banter. It just doesn't seem real still. The entire esports scene lost a giant. My sincere condolences to his close friends and family. An absolute tragedy. Thank you, Nick.

RIP Geoff. We love you!
Still in shock... Geoff was a delight to listen to, hilarious and smart. RIP
RIP Geoff. Beautiful Memoriam. I just hope Artosis is alright mentally.
RIP iNcontroL 🙏 Geoffrey was one of my favorite casters.
This is lovely. Thank you for this one Tasteless.
Thank you for sharing your memories of Geoff with the community.
Thanks for the kind words Nick, i do appreciate you guy's job a lot
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Nick, I know you don't participate in the social media/spotlight stuff as much as some other people, and I totally get it. So its great to hear your stories, and your memories. I appreciate you very much. May Geoff's memory be eternal.
Thank you for sharing, Nick.
Be kind to others. Be kind to yourself. Be like Geoff.
People still talking about Geoff; he was a huge influence on the community. If you ask me, a lot of the hype for the game left with him.
Wait.. this isnt fake?
FML I was just listening to him casting Need Vs Scarlet and thinking to my self
I cant wait to hear him cast again, he has some interesting points and is funny as well
RIP man the SC2 scene lost a damn fine man
I think this encompasses a lot of what Geoff was in a very thoughtful way TimeBones!
Really puts in perspective what is important, truer words have not been spoken
incL We all miss you Geoff!
I've been falling asleep to the SC:R Launch, Holiday Bash, and 20th Anniversary
Gunner070 wow dude that's weird I've been doing that past couple days lol

Thanks for doing this Tasteless. Had to come back and listen to this, been remembering all of Geoff’s classic moments
I played with/against iNcontrol in some FPS. I remember him as being funny and was delighted to see him casting.

Still not over it
Thank you, Nick..
Rest in Piece, InControL.
“Legends Never Die”
Thank you for this. I miss him very much.
I LOVED JEFF, HE MADE ME LAUGH MANY TIMES, HE WAS THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU WOULD WANT IN UR LIFE

Rest well, Geoff. Your impact in the scene was immense and will be remembered for years to come.
rest easy champ
I can’t believe we will not see him on the stage casting Starcraft... it’s so sad, he left a void behind that is hard to describe.
So much I didn't even know about him.
he was my favorite caster =) Hes humor was so funny...RIP Geoff the legend!
That was a great tribute to Geoff and also a great message. Thanks Nick
:O NO WAY!! He was such a funny guy. Always loved to what him cast. RIP!

This was very surprising and sad news. May he rest peacefully.
Good guy, many good memories even for us who weren't his friends. Take care of yourself my condolences.
