I also jumped from a 13 Mini to a 15 Pro. I defaulted to the 1.2x on my main camera. I still dream of a Mini Pro in the future.

I also jumped from 13 mini to iPhone 15 Pro and I defaulted to 1.5x on the main camera since I feel it’s a great focal length for almost anything and I still get a full 24 Megapixel photo,

How's the battery life of 15 pro? And what's the SOT you are getting
@@keniekjain6074 I'm looking in my settings at the Battery. It looks like i"m using 90-105% of the battery each day. I'm guessing SOT means Screen On Time (not Sea Of Thieves), average screen active is 4hr 20 min and screen idle is 5hr 30 mins.
You can say there are 6 usable focal lengths. 24mm standard resolution is 48mp; 28mm (35mp), 35mm (24mp) and 50mm (12mp) are cropped, but you are still getting 12mp on 50mm. 12mp is the highest resolution on 13 Pro. It’s not perfect but useable. But if you are looking for perfection, you shouldn’t use the iPhone.

Haha you're like me!! I went from my 13 mini, and COULD NOT stand the battery life on it, and i also wanted the ProRes and RAW features since I'm a photographer and I don't want to have to carry my camera around. I take much more photos and much more I enjoy now! (I'm currently working on a comparison as well against my previous phone vs my dads 14 pro and then later a 3 months or more video!)
Oh and quick tip, I recorded a job all on my 15 Pro. I shot 4k normal video (not prores) and i could plug my *AUDIO INTERFACE* into it and not have to record audio separate on my MBP! It's so crazy and the USB-C is a game changer!! 😂
We're in the same boat! The ore I've been using the 15 Pro and USB-C port, the more I'm warming up to it and been finding more uses for it
Really useful review! It’s a bit rare to see iPhone reviews by real photographers. I came from a mini iPhone too (the 12 mini) I am also a photographer, but I found the 15 Pro Max a lot more interesting and I finally got this. First, it’s the bigger screen and battery, so I can shoot a full day without having to charge it and I can have a better view on the photos thanks to more screen real estate. And second, it’s that 120mm telephoto! The image quality is just awesome (given the small sensor). The tetra prism mechanism is genius compared to the other periscope implementations on Android because you have less optical elements (so more clarity) and the sensor shift image stabilization (thanks to the flat plane orientation of the sensor). The combination of the above makes for better image quality even on low light.
For me this phone is a real deal. I am shooting street and cityscapes. In the past, I used to carry my a7C with a 135mm f/2 lens (a quite heavy combo) for the tighter shots, while I used my 12 mini for the wide/ultra wide frames. Because I don’t use bokeh at all (I am shooting f/8-f/13) the x5 of the 15 Pro Max works perfectly: it gives me both compression and reach! And if I need some environmental portrait the 35mm “lens” comes in handy paired with the portrait mode.

Great video man, can you let me know if regular 15 which can record prores with blackmagic cam app be OK for basic RUclips projects like recording my guitar play and myself or should I upgrade to iPhone 15 pro with log capture. Is it worth it just for Logs.
If it were up to me, I think whatever phone or camera you have now will work fine, lighting and audio are more important, I think image quality on RUclips is more forgivable. If you were to upgrade to the newest iPhone. I think the 15 is amazing for RUclips, no need to get the 15 for the log. The log adds an additional step for the people who want full control of their images. The picture coming straight out of the iPhone 15 camera is amazing

I hope you meant picture and videos both be good from regular 15 right ? dont need no action button, 120hz, always on or titatnium from Pros and heard battery life is even better on regular 15. Just cameras makes me wanna get Pros if its worth it. btw, what cam did you use for video above.

6:30 easy fix... you can just swipe down bottom of screen over the navigation bar to entirely pull to screen down to use upper part of the screen (works on literally any app, no exceptions )

That black box that occurs when I take photos and videos and makes my video small in the corner is actually SO ANNOYING!! Especially when I don't notice it until later, and can't just take the clip again :(

I love the 13 mini but the battery is horrible. And also the camera quality isn’t good if you use zoom a lot. If only there was a mini pro model 😢

Wait I’m so confused. Why can’t you use use usbc to usbc for the rode?
I have the first version of the Rode Wireless Go’s. I tried plugging a usbc to usbc into the phone and the mic, nothing happened, also tried a bunch of different cords. But it works with a usbc to aux dongle. I think the usbc port of the mics is just a power input, no components to transfer information or audio.
@@davey_gravy interesting. I know on my wireless go II’s they register on black magic cam as an audio option with the USBC

I have been using 15pro for a month and iam less satisfied with the battery consumption.I charge 1.5 times a day with average of 8h screen time. Is that normal? Or draining fast?
I think that normal? That’s similar to the 15 Pro I’m been using
@@davey_gravy Eventhough I didn’t charge upto 100% , the battery cycle count still increases daily.I follow the charge cycle 80-20.

Never been Iphone user so I think it's worth giving them a try, but I've never followed Apple so I do not know what kind of difference I should expect from IP16.
I don't mind waiting 9-10 months tho.
