Thinking as someone who likely would have an adult child moving with, in the 'cantina', knock through to the laundry room to create a nice bathroom/laundry room. Then with a kitchenette, you have a nicely sized small apartment in the back. At the stairs in the lounge, close off for a downstairs bedroom (leave the door between bath/laundry). Put a door to the terrace in the other upstairs room. The upstairs bedrooms could then be used for other family members/visiting friends. All rooms would be generously sized and comfortable.
I love the location, especially by the bus stop! and the liberty style home! The land is perfect, I would fence it for dogs, and add fruit trees and rose bushes, garden and make the cantina a man cave. Never think of a rental in my home. The terraces are great too!
Wow. The cathedral is amazing ! The location is perfect. Right outside all amenities. Love all the kitchen cabinets and counter space.the double terraces would be perfect. Adding a bath to the laundry would make perfect sense. Yes, a third bedroom or studio apartment in the Cantina would be great. The yard area is just right. I would add fruit and nut trees and the triangle parking area.lots of work, but lots of potential for a great home.
Another great property full of possibilities! Definitely would want a geometra to look at this property. It looks like the addition may not have been tied into the main house properly. May need some minor foundation work done. Just food for thought.
I would get out the wall of the living room. Make open window doors at the back. I don't know what's underneath the bath room but I would like a hall way from the back of living room. Make the Jantina bathroom ensuite .
Location and garden are fantastic! But the house needs A LOT of money invested (plumbing and electrics for sure, plus proper fencing). The bathroom on the stairs must go (use the cantina for an extra bedroom and a downstairs bathroom) and I wonder if the unnecessarily huge terrace can be used to extend the rooms upstairs to have more space and definitely a bathroom, and keep a smaller terrace if not even balconies: I'll do me grilling in the garden. The walls outside needs proper care, windows needs replacing because they are simply ugly as hell. Roof needs checking even though Dave said there's no infiltration so it my be safe to assume it's no extra money. In the end it's gonna cost same as the house if not more, unless you adapt. But again, it's a very interesting project in a super location.
Bob, how much do you think it would cost to get this house up to speed? Would €50k do it? Let’s say new flooring throughout, repairing the ceiling, the terrace, paint on the outside, and a new fence.
There might be a wonderful old traditional farmhouse underneath years of bad remodel decisions, but this would be a hard pass for me at the current price. That said, if the neighborhood is as good as stated, then maybe it would be worth it.
Building a walled in terrace without drainage to turn it into a water tank and one terrace which has no access, surely for a reason, the ceiling coming down, the tile floor bulging up, an extension not matching up with carrying walls, that all might not worry you, but me it does. The room sizes are good, but the ceilings are too low, giving it a basement feeling. The entrance room is another weird construct. The area is great and the land would be nice without the house on it. I grew up in a now over 300 years old house, which was designed and built more stable than this and my uncle sold it for half this price with more additional land in a more expensive country. So no.
The far shot in the beginning of the roof seems to show it sagging on the right side/corner. And that extension is so ugly. The property doesn't really 'speak' to me, but there's quite a bit of potential!
I mean, lets be honest, I have seen and considered a huge modern house from the eighties with six bedrooms, bigger rooms, fully and well furnished smaller garden but similar, even better, richer area for exactly the same price and no repairs, not even painting needed.
From what I understand, a cantina is like a basement area or cellar type room that was used for making tomato sauces or curing meats...also used for storage, etc.
When you asked, Whar do you think so far? My gut reaction was FUGLY 😢 FKN UGLY. No first impression appeal and that extension is a joke then step inside and a wall 12 inches from the stairs needs ripped down. Claustrophobic ceilings ahhh, this is really a nightmare and at half the price may be interesting. Pull down rebuild would be cheaper here
Many Thanks Dave love your shows and stunning homes xx x1000000000000000
Wow, what a beautiful church. Thanks for the tour.
Another great property & video. Love the town tour and seeing daily life in stunning Abruzzo!
Chieti is one of my favorite towns to consider for moving. Not huge, but big enough to have EVERYTHING!! And can walk to everything!

Stunning, and trust google/RUclips to stick an advert in right when you entered the beautiful church.

.
And the other one I'd probably make a toilet and watching room. Then upstairs find a room for another toilet and shower
Biggest question is the neighbours land with the ugly IBC, for sale?
Underneath the bathroom seems to be the kitchen
Great location, property could be amazing with a bit of work.
SUPERB

Wonder if you could somehow slant that roof as opposed to flat? It is good to have natural roof drainage. Wonder also how high those ceiling are?
is it too much to ask to bring a flashlight and measuring device? you seem to always bring your camera.
the wide angle lens is very deceiving. Please check out properties in person before making offers. On any property. Saves a headache

So, I am assuming that this house is not in a 7% flat tax zone, right?

Price is too high considering all the repairs that are needed.
I’ve asked this before and no one ever answers: What is a cantina?
From what I understand, a cantina is like a basement area or cellar type room that was used for making tomato sauces or curing meats...also used for storage, etc.
A second kitchen in the basement
My girlfriend wants to meet you, she says you’ve got a gentle voice. She lives my mother x of Yorkshire and Australia but she says you sound gentle 😂
it seems that she got the hots for David
too expansive ! Too much work to do to renovate this house !!!!
