Blaze yeah but your first lap should normally be slightly faster because you get the start up boost that is with the exact same lines every track and if the timer was as accurate as it claims

2. With the boost from the start the time to pass the line is minuscule

Regardless, you have to accelerate from 0 on lap 1. On most tracks, that's enough to make it a few milliseconds slower at least.
