We saw you guys a week or so ago in Kona, but didn’t want to interrupt your good time, so here we are dropping you a belated “aloha” and a “mahalo nui loa.” We used your resources a lot when we moved to the island and are so grateful for what you do. Thank you!
Thank you! If you see us again, say Aloha! We had five different sets of people recognize us and say hi while we were filming this!
LOVE THE BIG ISLAND
I love you guys's energy... great video and the music there was great, one of my favourite songs Thank You for this video
Love your videos! Moving to Big Island on 2/24/23, Hilo side.
I’m jelly! We’re going to try after our eldest is on her own! Gotta a few years to go until we can too! See ya there!
That’s tomorrow! Congratulations! I’m jealous!
This was fun! Lots of interesting random information!
Random is right..lol. Eric loves to shoot downtown. We should walk through the little towns around the island giving history and info!
Mahalo🤙
that is the best coffee shop on the island.. dirty frapp and peaberry all the way!
Love the video! I am even learning new things.
That is a good thing! When you get to East Hawaii, maybe you can share with us tidbits about life there and we can do a Hilo video!
We will be coming for our 2nd time on 4/18/23. I hope we see you both 🤞🤞🤞
Thank you for all your great information 😊🌺
Sound like a good trip, go ahead and say hi if you see us. and thanks
Saw Eric at Harbor Beach and both of you on Ali’i Drive. This Kona Low is for the birds!! It poured rain the first three days when we got here! And all these clouds???
We will be there May 4th, so excited to finally make it to the Big Island. Hoping for sunshine, Portland has been wet, gray and dark lately.
Be there in 2 weeks!
Fun facts! Just sent the video to 4 gf's who're flying out Wednesday to spend a week at our place. Thanks for a fun video!
Yes this was a fun video, I was surprised on how many there were.
Great video. Brings back so many memories. Thank you.❤️🤗
“Bomb Diggitie!”
I laughed out loud-you guys are informative & fun to watch!
I will add-factually, removing sand from the island, will bring terrible luck. We were young and didn’t know enough about being respectful to the island. We took sand from Green Sand Beach-we didn’t make the connection and we threw the sand away during a move. Haunts me to this day that we should have mailed it back to the island.
I tried to pay respect to Green Sand Beach after my husband died, during a visit 2 years ago.
Respect the Islands is a real thing❤️
Thanks for laughing about that! I know its not the best word to use when speaking about Hawaiian royalty however!
See you guys soon. Heading to Big Island 🏝 in a few weeks. 3rd time there…got my favorite places lined up for this trip. But I’m keeping those a secret. 😎👍👍👍
Hope your trip is good, weather has been good lately.
Always enjoy your videos, good information thank you ☺️
Both of you walking around down there makes us miss the Kona Canoe Club even more. It's a great place to sit and have something to eat and drink while you're looking out onto Kailua Bay. 🤙
That restaurant has an amazing view!
We went to the Kona Canoe Club just 2 weeks ago. We had an early happy hour with a bucket of shrimp and Nachos. I had a delicious Creamsicle Martini. Hubby and son-in-law had great cheeseburgers that they had made to their specification, even though the menu was not as wide as the previous Cheeseburger selection. Great place for a late afternoon relaxing time.

One of Very few Hawaii videos to interject Hawaiian words/meaning... Mahalo nui!
At 4:46 the coffee shop, they’re da best at letting you try every flavour, so friendly, I have to get my iced vanilla Mac nut coffee every morning when in town. Also, at the Kona Inn, did you notice the roof fan system they still have running to help cool the restaurant air? All giant belts and pulley systems from back in the day to turn those fans, brilliant!
Thank You for that. I was wondering if that was the Kona Inn for sure since I haven't been there since the seventy's. Interesting fact, In the seventy's You could sit on the Sea Wall on Ali Drive and count the cars that would go by. You could not see more than 30 in an hour.
Yes, I look at that pully system and think it was a pretty good idea that keeps going !
Is that coffee shop at the Kona inn or the shopping mall? Going back in a few weeks woyld love to try!
Anyone please???
@@Manateelover25 sorry didn’t see the comment, it’s in the shopping mall you go down into, behind the other shops, just a teeny storefront, just down from the inn
Fascinating episode
Thank you!!
We are days away from our first trip to Hawaii, Big Island. We are coming all the way from Eastern, Snowy Canada so we are looking forward to it. Your video's have been a great help for us.
Hope you have a good time, at least it will be warm, thanks for the thoughts on the videos
is there mongoose/ferrets still there on Big Island? I would think the Nene goose would be wiped out by them, great to see the Nene still there
Thank you for the 411 on the lava rocks!😅 heading to the BI in two weeks - so excited! btw I heard hotels charge you if you use the AC?!
Yes have heard a lot of stories about brings lava off the island. And some place do change for AC, because the cost of electricity is supper high here.
We were in a condo in the southern end of Kaulua Kona on Ail'i drive, from May 8 - May 18 and never needed A/C. Ceiling fans and wide open patio doors out to the lanai kept us comfortable the entire time.
4 ABC stores I think 🤔
Your videos make me want to come back to the Big Island! from Indiana it's quite the trek. Also, Julie, I love your dress! FWIW, as a science educator, on my 2015 visit I collected 3 or 4 pieces of lava for our science department's rock collection. I out loud asked Pele if it was ok - she apparently thought it was, for educational purposes, because no ill came to me. But I asked, and I'm sure that made the difference. In 2019 hubby and I were careful to not bring any back with us.
My spiritual friends say to ask and wait for an answer! Glad nothing happened to you!
@@365Hawaii I will admit, I wouldn't likely recognize an answer. 🙂
You had better just mail those rocks back IMMEDIATELY...U DONT DO THAT
Can you speak to the rumors of dogs being eaten by the locals? Two people have claimed this now, seems very weird.
That IS Strange and have not heard anything like that.
How do you talk about the critters on the island and NOT MENTION THE COQUI FROGS!!!!! for anyone who visits hilo for the first time, it's a huge WTF is that noise? Moment. I don't know about anything that's so loud every night like that from a critter any where in the world!
You are RIGHT! They are the loudest critter on the island for sure!! We will have to do a video on the noise!
It was Soo quiet b4 ..in upper Hakalau..not a sound at night.. but I am not easily bothered by the frogs, it just seems like crickets to me..U & me & rain on the roof 🙂
