The key to green stuff is knowing when to sculpt what. Waiting until the epoxy is cured a bit instead of jumping right in can be the difference between a clean sculpt and a droopy mess.
This is the best greenstuff video on youtube!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!! armature putty pusher here....
You're welcome!
This video is super helpful. I come from "traditional" scale modeling and I really struggle with milliput and greenstuff. Thanks for the great content!
Thank you, this was excellent for someone who just broke into GS for the first time today!
you bet!
Such a deep manly voice! Great video, Thanks Scott.
*blushes manly*
You are a Saint and a scholar sir

You bet!
thanks for an awesome guide. it answered a lot of questions
It is a super video. I learned a lot thank you. I'll begin to also sculpt tabards and gambesons so I was wondering how to work the greenstuff and then your channel came to me THANK YOU
Glad it helps!
Very helpful. Thanks so much
Really appreciate this! Learned a lot :)
Excellent advice thank you
Worth stating that epoxy is temperature sensative, So if you are working in a cold garage curing time will be longer and if you sit next to a space heater it will cure faster.
Great video, great tutorial. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Great video, very helpful!
Thanks, this is really helping me
Best green stuff video
Cheers mate. Very much appreciate your insight
Thanks for being here!
Thank you so much!
Nice vid man. Super useful info 👌 👍
Awesome video! Very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
OMG this content is amazing. Thank you for doing this. Legend!
Yessir!
This was really helpful!
Do you ever do full sculpts from scratch or mostly just customization stuff?
Both!
I buy mine separated in the tubes.
Cant find the answer to this one.. How do I get it off my hands if its stuck?
Hey love the videos! One thing I was hoping you could answer is if for the mineral you could use any brand or if there is a specific one you recommend. Thanks!
Any mineral oil will do fine- brand isn't important!
@@lastlightcreative6537 awesome! I actually am using some right now and it is amazing! Ty for the awesome videos!
@@dannyele7528 You're welcome!
What mineral oil do you use?
How do you measure 50/50 with the tubes for a singe job. I got some and tried it the first time yesterday and I put them side by side to cut evenly with a razor blade. But they are so big I made way too much. What is your process of getting thr proper amounts, while using the big tubes?
I've bought the greenstuff with gap and I cut it to a 50-50 ratio, is it normal that it feels pretty hard when mixing the two ? Just the mixing, once it turns green it's pretty easy to work with.
depends how cold it is. When its warm it's easier to mix/work with
@@lastlightcreative6537 Thanks for the tip and thanks for the video!
What oil did you use? Do you clean the tools with isopropyl alcohol?
@@alex-gabrielabagiu1412 mineral oil! It evaporates by itself
Is that a cartridge case you are using as stamp?^^
Do you do any cleaning before priming and painting?
It sure is! Yes, with hot water and dish soap.
never thought of using a cartridge case! That’s brillant
So glad I found your vids! Thanks for sharing. A question re mineral oil, any advice on what type of mineral oil? Lots of food safe chopping board oil on ebay, is that suitable?
i guess so. I got mine form the pharmacy. Odorless and taste less
@@lastlightcreative6537 Thank you, will give it a try.
What type of oil do you use on your tools to make it not stick?
Mineral oil
Awesome
awsome ! thank you a lot. Damn it. thank you again
Большое спасибо!
What a great video. Priceless information. Out of interest, would you wait the same period of time for sculpting cloth out of milliput greenstuff mix, as in 1.5 hours of curing?
Depends on your workspace temps and humidity, but yes- its pretty similar!
@@lastlightcreative6537 awesome, thank you. I signed up to your Patreon. It's awesome. 👍
@@colinboon6612 glad you like it! TONS of tutorials on there
Great video. One question: what kind of paper are you using? I’ve tried wax paper, but the green stuff sticks to it. Thanks.
Thanks! Check out our tools video. It will help.
Would dust in the air affect the green stuff ? I just recently got into sculpting and now I’m too scared to pull the stuff out because my house is especially dusty. Even after cleaning my desk the dust is still circulating in the air of my work area. Is this something I should be worried about ? Or is it something I can work around just as long as my actual desk and hands aren’t dirty ? Thank you !
I'd try and work on it in the least dusty room possible. Outside, even. That said, it shouldn't be that big of a deal as long as you keep it covered during extended periods.
Dam how dusty is your place?
What about moulds? I have a fur pad mould. Can I place the green stuff on it and let it cure a bit before removing it or is it better to press into it while in stage 0/1 and then removing it so it cures by itself?
Bonus question, can I take blue part/ yellow part and just clumb them all together separately? I have the same long strip as you have on this video.
I would oil the mold first, then place the gs in stage 1. let it cure to stage 5 before removal.
As long as you keep them apart and clean, it doesn't matter
When you talked about dust and the camera zoomed in on your desk I was thinking "Wow, he really does have a lot of dirt on his desk".
Then you moved your hand back and the I realised it's my screen that's dirty.
Haha
did you file down your royal sovereign silicon tool white size 2? as the edges I see online are much sharper
Yep! better for flowing cloth, as the edges tend to line the material otherwise.
How long was stage 3 curing for? It seems to be the most useful for making armor for halo mega construx figures. Edit: this video seems like its gonna be the reason why mega construx customs will be easier.
I'll be releasing detailed PDFs to the patrons containing all the info in this video in a more digestible format for referencing. Give it some thought!
I think I keep getting bad batches of these. When I mix mine together, they never make that squishy sound!!!!
If you make the sound yourself long enough the epoxy will learn to do it by itself. Or I've done this too long... I dunno.
