I remember Geater Davis back when I played in bands back in the day in Shreveport, Louisiana.I was just a young 15 year. But when I saw him live singing and playing I was so inspired that I went home a practiced very long and hard on the guitar. I will never forget those days at the Hollywood Palace and Flamingo Club in Bossier City with Big Bill Brewer. Geater's stage name was Sweet Geater. I also remember Eddie Giles and Adolf & The Entertainers. They don't have bands and artists like that today.
Hi Nece...... years ago, I played guitar in the band called "Brass Funk" .... your dad requested us to play as his band in concert... !!! I think it was in Texarkana, TX or Texarkana, AR... so long ago I can't remember... But I do remember what a pleasure and a blessing just to meet him and play with him.......!!!
Nece Davis What's your contact info. This is my great grandma Clarice Dennis little brother. I want to know more about him and my other family out there. You got a FB?

Nece Davis in 1973', your father was touring and a band i was in played back-up for him at a small club in louvale, georgia at "The Big "M" Club. it was right after the release of "Long Cold Winter". i played trombone. enjoyed the two sets immensly-he had a very soulful voice and was a skilled blues guitarist.
