Lets do a fact check on this ´apartheid claim´
      1) Do Palestine have a Palestinian Government - YES
      2) Do Palestine make their own laws and rules - YES
      3) Do Palestinians own and run their own businesses - YES
      4) And until they voted in despotic Hamas, did they have a democratic right to hold elections and choose their own Government - YES
      5) Are any Israelis in position of power in Palestine - NO
The only ´Apartheid´ being practiced is against the Israelis. The racial discrimination
based on colour and birth is against Israelis.
These fact are all true. Do your research.

Even if there are differences in the apartheid spectrum no one can doubt clear cut persecution, dehumanisation and systematic destruction of human spirit in SA and Palestine. That practice had existed in occupied West Bank and Gaza way before October 8. Many human beings around the world are watching it from the lens of injustice and the western politicians are bent backwards to justify injustice exercised by Israel.

Another riveting interview. As a white South African who lived in South Africa during those awful, horrific years, it is a constant deep sadness for me that I wasn’t more active and more vocal during that time. I had no real platform except as a teacher, and I spent many years teaching both black and white high school students, trying to open minds and support individual struggles. It came to the point where my sense of helplessness overwhelmed me and I left. I’m back in South Africa now and every day I’m almost on my knees with gratitude that this beautiful country is where is it today. My support for Palestine is absolutely unconditional. Keep on keeping on Owen.

You can't have apartheid with an occupied territory. If that were the case, the Western occupation of Germany was also apartheid, so was Soviet occupation of Germany, so was German occupation of European countries, etc. Basically every single military occupation in history would be "apartheid". As a German who is just experiencing how the freedom of speech as guaranteed by our constitution has been restricted by the government and people are frightened to speak out, it is a relief to get thoughtful voices based on the principles of the general human rights. As of now everybody in Germany who gets a funding by the government has to sign an agreement to conform to the IHRA definition of antisemitism, meaning that basically every critique of the Israeli system is deemed antisemitic and will lead to the loss of fundings. The silence and opportunism of the cultural sector and media is the most shocking.

Owen, I love the way you bring so much balance and humanity in your interviews. You and Mr Feisntein speak the reality of the situation in Palestine in the most articulate and insightful ways , which would be the normal way to speak and view it but what we hear from our mainstream medias and politicians is the total opposite, their moral decay and political insanity is beyond belief, and they also destroy the fabric our own societies . As you said it is not surprising and yet it is appallingly shocking. However the suffering of Ghaza but also of the West bank and East Jerusalem people, the latter two being subjected to unprecedented assault as well, has brough an awakening to millions in the world and especially in the West and a support for Palestinian people as never seen before. As ordinary citizens, we are still weak to fight this corrupted system, but the day will come and I believe Ghaza is a seed of indignation and outrage which will keep growing. Thank you Owen and to all the people you interview for this extraordinary work of awareness you are doing together and that in the most humble ways.

@@evgeniya7853 What weapons to start with? the West has sent all its outdated weapons to Ukraine, the sole aim of the war of Ukraine was to weakened Russia and they viciously used Ukrainians to that end. The West does not care for Ukrainians and probably never did, if they had they would have put all their ressources to prevent the war to happen or at least to bring a peaceful solution immediately after it did. Ukrainians have been sensessly sacrificied to the US hegemony and with the appalling cowardness of the EU. It is extremely sad and illustrate the hypocrisy of our governments. Life does not matter only their insane thirst for power and profits does.

As a young white South African adult (22) I would like to personally thank you Owen and Mr. Feinstein for this fascinating discussion. I've only recently gained an understanding of where I stand in politics and have always found topics like these messy and very complicated, but you both made it easy to understand and expanded my knowledge of my nation's history. Thank you very much and I sincerely hope that there will one day be a time where we can finally say that we have won the struggle for freedom.
