How do you sync the TR8 with Minibrute2s using the Midi? I have midi out on my TR8 going into the midi in of the Minibrute 2S and the brute wont play. Is there a setting in the Minibrute2s that I need to do? please help.
@@Yourmom-ck7ss Have the hold (square) mode selected on the minibrute and press the sync button until "midi" is active. Then when you launch your tr8 it should launch the minibrute as well
At first, I was frustrated by this video because I couldn't get mine to sound exactly like yours, but then I watched it again and understood more of what you were doing. Finally, I stopped trying to copy your patch and I made my own, and I got an _awesome_ drum track based on the principles you outlined in the video. Great job, and THANKS!
From one Mike to another, gotta say this tutorial is on another level. Perfectly paced and so informative, love that 808 kick you got going. Your understanding of the patch bay is mind blowing, oh and the graphics you put to remind us what is doing what is very helpful. You said at one point that you ‘could lose yourself in this for a long time’ - video it, doesn’t matter how long it lasts, I’d quite happily watch. P E A C E : )
So this is very inspiring! Please make one focused on bassline modulations, possibly demonstrating the FM, Lin FM, Sync or other parts of the patch bay
First off, you need to rename this video. I nearly skipped it because I’m not into techno, but it’s great. The ideas you give could be applied to so many scenarios. Learned so much. Thank you for putting it up. Have you done any videos linking the mini brute 2 into your modular gear? That would be really cool.
Sheesh man..this is cool and exactly what i'm looking for in a youtube info vid. I've had mine for a year now and i'm just learning this, Cheers brother this is LIT!
This is a fantastic tutorial... I chose to make inroads for investing into eurorack modular & started by finding 3 great semi-modulars. X2 Mother32's & then added a Minibrute2S & the bigger Rackbrute for add on modular things too... Tutorials like this are just what I want to learn, & begin to re-patch my brain to think when I work in my eurorack systems. The more I see how to patch & think in modular terms creatively... like this. The better it can only get. I have no probs understanding synthesis, started things in 1989. But I'm still mostly thinking about how to route things I start as a sound & sequence, without patching initially on the Semi-modulars. & then taking on some patching from there... But I am still thinking about modular, in a straighter line for what I know using traditional synths. I can see how to take this techno beat box concept & idea for routing things like this. With clarity to not just copy the tip... but go bonkers expanding & experimenting heaps from it. 10/10 tutorial, much appreciated for sharing.❤
This is great man! I’ll be all over this idea after work tomorrow... It never even crossed my mind to patch pedals in. Muhahahaha, I see trouble ahead 🤘 Thank you sir, new sub here, peace ✌️
haha, enjoy! Patching in pedals opens a lot of doors - just gotta be careful with the levels as modular signals are super hot and will often distort with pedals designed for use with guitar, but with some care it can absolutely be done
The hardest part of being new to this is understanding how to make a full song on t he 2s, only because I didn’t know how to make changes without affecting every sound...so im guessing it saves the changes through the track and you can keep building on the other tracks? It’s discouraging when the only “songs” you make have to be all of the same affects.
This is so good thanks for sharing! I was wondering if you could elaborate on how you incorporate the pedal though please?Would this work with pretty much any guitar pedal, or only certain models that send out audio at specific levels? And you don't need to use any sort of pre-amp or limiter to correct the levels? Thanks again!
Hello, really enjoyed this!! Im really looking forward to buy this synth, but im having a hard time knowing if I will need any extra equipment to make it work. I don't have experience on audio... I have only a JBL Boombox speaker, with has an aux in minijack 3,5mm. I don't know if I can connect the minibrute directly to the speaker, or I need an adapter to transform the cable of the out of the minibrute to the 3,50mm. Also don't know if I need a mixer or something. As you see I'm really lost here and don't want to make an impulsive decision and then realize I need to spend more to make it sound. I will really appreciate your wisdom on this complex thing for a beginner, who want to start making alien noises and be happy.
Hey Moy, you can use the headphone output with a 1/4" to 3.5mm adaptor to plug in your speaker, that will work no problems. Nothing else is required for it to make noise, just some headphones or a speaker :) If you wanted to add effects like delay and reverb, or to record it, that's when you'd need to buy some more equipment to hook it up to a computer or recorder
Great video! Could you tell me please if you can record when the 2S is in step rec mode using an external keyboard to insert pitch/notes? Thanks a lot!
Bisous.
Small correction: I realised that LFO 1 is actually hard-wired to modulate the filter resonance, so there's no need to patch it manually :)

+1. soo good for improving sound design. skills and so on.
FINALLY! A proper tutorial for once
glad you enjoyed it!
So excited! Owned this for years
This is amazing. I love the way it builds and builds, and sending the Att. 1 output through a pedal before routing it back in is an inspired move!
Awesome VIDEO! The best I’ve seen so far that gives beginners the best chance at making something real!

This is a game changing video!! Thanks for the badass patches!
no problems friend! there's a lot of possibilities with this synth, it really rewards experimentation!
This makes me want to purchase a Minibrute 2S
Don't blame you

Rad thanks. Looking to pickup a new drum machine and change workflow - I think you sold me on this
Put an smile on my face. Love this. Thanks. The best

I love my mini brute 2s! most love for the video is you certainly know what you doing to get the sound
Thankyou so much this is great and so informative. The minibrute 2s is my first synth and I think a very good choice it's fantastic 👍🏻
solid choice for a first synth, have fun!
Mine too. Its hard not knowing all its capabilities but this is encouraging
Fantastic tutorial, really getting a lot out of the 2s.

thanks a lot, had a lot of fund following. mine came out a lot different but still sounded really good!
You are the Bob Ross of Synths! 🎉
Wow! Going to have to dig out my 2s for a play!
Fantastic stuff! Completely understand the sentiment of getting 'lost in music' whilst creating on this synth

I love the miniBrute
This was a lot of fun to watch/listen to. Cheers! :)
AWESOME tutorial man!
Great and very useful tutorial!
thanks Andrey!
This was so valuable. I keep looking for videos that show how far you can push this synth. I’d gladly watch more if you made them. Subbed!
cheers Brandon! I have some ideas, stay tuned :)
This video is literally everything I want to do with this device! Thank you!! holy $hit!- when you run it thru the pedal......wow....
Cheers Jason
Thank you so much for producing this video!
I’ve gotta say I really enjoyed that 👍 and subscribed!
That's awesome Daylar-Cole, welcome aboard
Thanks so much making this video. Really helps!

Thanks so much for taking the time to give us your feedback
The kick sounds just like a DrumBrute Impact kick, it's actually crazy how alike they sound
Excellent video dude ! I would like more MB2S videos too, please :) this one was damm excellent !
Cheers, we will endeavour to get more done when we can
Excellent!
Love this beast of a machine

Are you using mono cables for everything?

Great video. Very useful. Will you do a Beat Step Pro tutorial utilizing the separate seq tracks for hardware connectivity?
Hi Cole, thank you. We will look into it
Marvelous!
Great way to put effect from att to master in. Can it be routet from amp to master in for whole synth sound? Best D

when i pull out patched mid sequence it messes everything up....any help
I swear there was a techno rumble tutorial you did on here? Did i get sent to another alternative universe again

How good is this machine for live performances on its own?
Probably quite limited. Haven’t got it myself but you’ll almost definitely want a poly and an additional sequencer!
I initialized the patch like you and quadruple checked it... it still comes out like a crunchy bass?
How do you shut off local on the minibrute 2?
Great video! Could you tell me please if you can record when the 2S is in step rec mode using an external keyboard to insert pitch/notes? Thanks a lot!
We haven't tried this but we don't see why not when using a midi controller
@@Noisegate On the keyboard version doesn't work..
@@sentokan The MB2 doesn’t have the in depth sequencer - that’s what the ‘S’ refers to.
80's pr0n moustache: check!
LMDAO, he made that miniBrute his b*tch!!!

Hi Stacy, This has been sorted out now..apologies
Thanks!
Seems like a lot just to make a kick sound. I’d rather just choose from a preset bank of kicks.
Love what you are doing here yet i cannot hear your voice. Had to give up. So sad…
When the MINIBrute 2S is a better drum machine than the DrumBrute...
It's a shame the voice recording didn't come out well. Can barely hear you speak.
Pfff
Watching this video made people give me pitying looks. I guess they don't share my hobby.
Haha, we hear ya
monstruously... thin and sterile...
