Hey lovelies!! 🥰 Can we believe this? 😯❤️ Thank you so much to everyone who sent me pictures of their bags for this video!! 😘❤️ You guys are the best!! 😍❤️ Xx
💖👑👑💖hello lovely your bag is a beautiful colour and all you can all do is use your bags and see what happens .also I think it would be so hard to get another in purple. have a great weekend lovely 💜😁💜xx Miss Frankenstein is a beautiful name 😂😂😂😂💜💜💜💜💜💜😘😘😘😘😘
From a retail background perspective, it definitely appears to be Consistent! Quality defects amongst the peeling leather damaged bags. Chanel should definitely be offering refunds at this point, particularly as these bags are Brand New! Luxury bags! Maybe they didn’t test this new design a,d functionality, eg the chain wearing against the leather as it is drawn in. Great they have tried to offer a new and unique option, but still it is a quality issue. A range of design and manufacturing elements could be causing this fault. If it were me, I would , like you Romina keep the bag if you love it anyway, or in the more damaged cases - ask for a Refund. A lot of variables involved. Maybe Chanel will need to re-design and manufacture them X P 💖😘💐😇💋💗🌸🍄👜
As long as people are buying their bags they have no reason to change because it's the "plebs" only and Chanel wants to distance itself from the riff-raff anyway. That's my reading of this whole issue....
It’s shocking… I am hoping it’s just with this particular bag….thanks for highlighting this as I was thinking of getting one. I’ll wait. Your videos are great. 😻
I’ve always felt that this bag looks like a garbage bag, so to find out that the quality is also garbage is fitting (and also somewhat in line with other Chanel quality issues lately.)
I agree. Maybe it's a social experiment of some kind ;) They produce a "luxury bag" with simple/poor design, cheap looking and, to top it off, with bad quality. How will the customers react?
My great grandmother used to make bags to put beans inside (I still have them for their special meaning) this was in poverty 100 years ago… thats this bag reminds me bean bags… but still I like them and feel bad for Romina she deserved a better service
I feel like consumers really need to reflect on why they're still buying and supporting this company. Horrible customer service experiences, quality issues, crazy price hikes, etc. Is this company even a representation of what it once was? Is it time to just by vintage? Or, is it time to say enough and give our energy and finances to fashion houses that value quality, customers and hold some basic principles.
I am so glad finally someone like you with a clear head makes this honest comment about Chanel! When u buy such an expensive luxury item, you should be treated nicely by the staffs, and the item must have absolutely the best quality to match its price, take nothing less.
@@moremiaj4786 unfortunately the world is sick with people who have this kind of attitude. The inconvenient truth is, some Chanel bags probably cost the same as MK or Marc Jacob to produce, and worse still, the latter probably might have better quality! If u like what u buy enjoy it, regardless of the brands!
What I don’t understand & can’t believe is why people are willing to pay so much money on such a shonky quality bag. Then decide to keep them after the material cracked/peeling 🤔🤔🤔
@@elizaward2478 under consumer law, that is faulty product (quality issue), she should be able to return it. I can understand if it’s $20, not worth the stress but it’s over $6k. It’s down to whether Romina & other buyers wanna fight for it or not. If they don’t want to fight for it worry they might banned, then I rest my case.
I get that you are upset, but I am tired of hearing people complain about the price increases and quality issues, yet continuing to buy from these brands. And from a company pov: why would they Chance anything of the sales keep going up and up
I’m sure she knew about the faults with this bag. It’s all over RUclips all complaining about this bag as she said she does her research before buying but still went ahead to buy it. I don’t like that bag but I have seen videos circulating complaining abt it I don’t get why buy it then non stop complain abt it.
I'm sorry, but if I'm paying Chanel's prices then I'm not prepared to tolerate ANYTHING happening to any part of the bag for any reason. I bought a Gabrielle 18 months ago and 4 weeks later found an issue with the leather running through the chain strap. Returned the bag to Harrods (where I purchased it) to be told that I should have checked it throughly when I first purchased and as I was a day over their 30 day return window they would not refund. I spent 3 weeks arguing via email with various 'managers' and regional managers and eventually Chanel agreed a refund. I've never experienced such bad customer service and such an arrogant attitude to the low quality of my bag as I have with Chanel.
I had a LV bag and there was a piece of leather that fell of, they took it in fixed it. Then a month or two the other piece of leather fell of. I just said is this the kind of quality your bags are made with. Then she just said if you want another bag or the money back we could do that. No arguments and quick service. Seems like Chanel are new to this so their customer service needs to ramp up. They should just call all of the 22's back. Do you remember Romina was it the autumn collection last year the metallic bags never came out in certain bags, it was just a few slg's ?
Alright finally while everybody‘s bag is breaking I‘m safe to say it 😅 The bag is hella ugly but I feel sorry for everybody who paid 1000‘s of dollars for this bag 😅
I guess we all have different tastes. I do not like the bag either and i talked about it on my channel but people do and are prepared to keep it even though it has flaws and costs £4000 plus. I guess they like it a lot:)
@@GracefulKnots thats why I feel even more sorry for them😅. When I think people spend there hard worked money to buy a designer bag that they really love and then you see literally every bag is some how breaking + the amount of money you have to pay for it . That is frustrating in every possible way. But I feel somehow confirmed in my opinion I didn‘t like the bag from the beginning the way it looked it was a no for me and it paid of for me.
@@GracefulKnots I don’t understand all the big videos and complaints about the quality of the bag if all the owners decide to keep it rather than return 🫠
@@Skylife335 you have a point there. I guess people like us are drawn to videos like that so they continue to make them. I would expect them to send the bags back:)
And yet everyone keeps buying their bags and letting themselves be marginalized by Chanel’s superiority and poor quality. I will never understand. That bag is not worth 1/10th of the cost. I have never understood the fascination with Chanel. Nothing against you Romina, I think you are lovely.
Not everyone. Some of us find this totally unaccaptable. I for instance love the Chanel single flap that's not even in production anymore so I have to turn to the preloved market. But I only buy items in excellent condition. The quality is great, such difference compared to new bags. It's still expensive but at least you get great quality.
I work in a supplier and we have bags for 20 euro in faux leather and some (little ones) in leather much better than these and made in Italy or Portugal… I feel bad for Romina though
@@AnnaCN78456 i totally believe that Chanel is using faux leather. Unfortunately they will continue because nobody is stopping buying those shoddy products.... and this because of the name 🙄
In my case, the store manager blamed me for the defects (zipper's leather pilling and uneven bump on the front flap) and refused to give me a refund. I then showed her the photos I took before purchasing the bag, which clearly showed the defects when the bag was on the shelves. Eventually, she refunded me and warned me that she had marked my name in the system also I am responsible for checking the bag next time before I make any purchases. I just tell her back loud and clear "You as an employee are the one who will be responsible to check the item, not me as a customer. If I am paying $6000 and I still need to do the work myself, I might as well take part of your salary income.". Since then, I have left Chanel and moved on to better brands out there.
@@mwmsjuly19 Exactly! It is unbelievable that Chanel likes to blame customers for quality issues. Now I have enough Chanel bags and I am done with the brand. My humble advice for people is never to settle down for any defects. If you have any doubt about the item, just pass it and move on. Buy things you love instead of being influenced because you deserve so much better! ♡♡♡♡♡♡
@@mwoo137 exactly what happened to my case unfortunately it was the first Chanel 19 for me the first luxury bag for me I was so happy to get it when I arrived home I discovered big scratches on the flap I send In the next 2 hours photo for the bag she said come on Friday and it was Sunday so I couldn’t wait early the next morning I go there they said sorry they didn’t check the bag and they know there is scratches because it was in the display the last piece they refund all my money back and I bought another bag from another country during holiday trip
@@drrowayda You did the right thing by going back to the store the next day after discovering the defects in the bag! God knows what if the Chanel employee change their mind later on Friday. Luckily, you got the refund back and spend it on another perfect one. Hope you enjoy the bag and take care! 🥰
the store manager is rude. believe me dear , the service in Taiwan also bad. I saw a white leather shoes, and ask them to check is my size is available. She promised me to call me back but she never did. yes, I should better move on to other brand like you did.
The only way Chanel is going to change is if people stop buying their merchandise. If you keep buying bags, clothing, etc. why would the company do anything about the declining quality of their products - they wouldn’t.
They should just discontinue this bag. How in the world Ppl still buy Chanel with all those quality issue!? Get over it… A logo doesn’t worth this self-humiliation.
To be 100% honest with you I wonder how you and Dacob and other RUclipsrs bought this bag !! I will not discuss The style because to each his own but It looks fragile and delicate. It doesn’t look durable or timeless bag for me 😐
At this point Chanel has totally figured it out that for some people, status is really important and because their logo clearly represents "status", they know some will be willing to pay U$6000 on a bag worth U$150 no matter what...quality is no longer important but flexing is! And so Chanel makes TONS of profit thanks to their CC logo. 😂
As long as so many people buy Chanel bags Chanel will just carry on using cheap materials to make more profit - they won't do a thing until their profits are affected. I feel so sorry for everyone who has paid such a huge amount of money and get bags which cost about £5 to make! Thank you Romina for showing the problems x 🤕🤔
I honestly think Chanel is laughing at its customers at this point because they put out cheap goods while raising prices and we still buy. The only way to fix this is to stop buying Chanel.
This is the reason that whenever I save enough money I'm going to buy a Bvlgari bag because they are more reasonably priced and the quality is excellent!! I feel with Chanel you ate just paying for a name!!
Lux YTers have been complaining about large French luxury houses “quality going down” but yet, them and their subscribers keep buying the latest releases. I’m confused.
you can bring it to a reputable leather worker to install brass or metal eyelets or loops (same gold color as the Chanel letters) around the openings where the chain pulls. It seems the problem is Chanel did not build the bag with the metal eyelets around the opening like they do with the other bags that use chain handles.
Good suggestion. I took my purple metallic WOC to a highly praised leather “surgeon” because, although I loved the bag and it had no issues, the chain was so long. He was able to shorten the chain so I could wear it crossbody. And he did an amazing job, and was able to make it look just like it came from the boutique, only shorter.
Thanks Romina for the update! l love the name of your new bag : ). I'm wondering if its all the coloured bags that will have issues from all lines. I got my first mini rectangle top handle, first mini actually, from 22A in the colour I love and was so excited, and after further inspection at home, I noticed the stitching on the flaps are tight! It isn't pulling as much as classicswithaquirk's bag, no cracking but my concern is partly the same as yours, what will happen down the road. Because these bags sell out usually on launch day, they had none in this style/colour for an exchange and I wasn't interested in anything else. The boutiques in Canada do not do refunds so I kept my bag and I'm hoping for the best. A store credit is useless with the frequency of Chanel's price increases and I'm not sure if I would find anything before the credit expires in excellent condition that I like. I was also told, not by the boutique, that the leather will soften more over time so it won't look as tight, mine is lambskin. After looking at many pictures on Fashionphile, tight stitching on flaps can be seen on some new/giftable condition Chanel flaps and I've been told by others, not from the boutique, it is normal. The boutique told me they are hand finished so are all different. Still there needs to be a consistent standard in quality. I thought the same as you, it could be worse so that's why I kept mine but I do love the colour/style I got and it sounds like you do too so all we can do is enjoy them and hopefully Chanel fixes their quality/construction issues on their bags. Do you think you will contine to buy Chanel bags? Thanks for sharing Xx.
I find this absolutely disturbing. Spending that much money on a designer bag should no result in all these photos. I just think that Chanel needs to deal with this issue and be honest with their buyers. It is the least they can do for what they charge for their items.
Thank you for the shout-out Romina! I'm so sorry to hear about what's been happening to your bag (and everyone else's!). I really hope we're able to get to the bottom of this.
I bought my first Chanel bag in the 1980s and several since then (and also sold a few of them along the way), and my last Chanel handbag purchase (Jumbo classic flap) was three years ago, which, thankfully, there were no issues with. I am sorry to say, though that both the quality of their items and customer service have declined to dismally disappointing levels as their prices have increased to stratospheric levels at the same time. I was toying with possibly getting the 22 Bag (in Ruthenium) for every day, but between the couldn't-care-less attitude of the SA at my local boutique and what's happened to you and your bag, I won't bother. My local boutique didn't have the Ruthenium and they didn't even offer to make an effort to try to locate one elsewhere. They simply Do. Not. Care. Appalling! Needless to say, I won't be buying anymore Chanel, unless it's preloved/vintage from a reputable, reliable secondary market vendor.
This bag reminds me of the quilted shopper type of bag, I don’t know if Chanel made them or they were cheap knock offs, found on nearly every market stall in the U.K. Very much an 80s style. In fact these new bags look worse than anything you can find on a market stall. They just look really tacky to me. But what do I know …. Never had a real Chanel in my life - turns out I haven’t missed anything 😂😂
Hi Romina, thank you for sharing and following this up - Chanel quality is clearly a huge issue. It would be crazy for them to ignore it now. Keep your bag and enjoy it. Still, it is a bitter sweet conclusion. Lots of love xxxCat
This has been true for many aspects of our live lately. Services and products are declining in quality amid their rises in price. Romina, thank you very much for this video!
Hi Romina, sorry this happened to you. I have Chanel 22 in small, black leather. Have used it non stop for 3 weeks now and no damages/issues so far. Leather is all intact and no breaking/cracking. I wonder whether the small size in natural color holds up better.
So sorry to hear they wouldn't let you return or exchange; I would be devastated. From the pictures you showed, it looks like they may be using coated split leather, in which the toughest top layer of the leather is removed. What's left is the fiber flesh layer that you see after the paint coating was brushed off. Split leather does give you a softer leather, and probably how they can create this beautiful casual, slouchy look. Full-grain leather is likely too structured for this kind of design. I don't know who the designer who handled this bag at Chanel is, the design is fundamentally flawed! You won't have a happy ending with a metal chain brushing against any leather while pulling, adding stress to the leather. Ultimately, as consumers, we need to stand for what we deserve and not let luxury brands bully us into convincing ourselves that this is ok. You have great style, with or without Chanel bags!
The quality issues of Chanel is not unknown. Romina had researched on the bags’ quality and even showed photos of other collectors where the hardware falling off on this 22 bag. To do the research but still purchase and subsequently not feeling happy about quality, and asking for the bag to be replaced or refunded does not seem logical IMO.
Hey love!! I’m so sorry to hear this is happening to your new beautiful 22!! So, I noticed on my white classic flap that I do not own anymore… the same flacking where the stitching was on the side of the bag… (like the stitching was pulling at the leather) I have looked at a few white classic flaps and noticed the same thing on all of them. I thought it was just me being overly ocd… but this is what I’m Noticing on a lot of the bags. It’s really upsetting and disappointing 🥹🥹 And now I have two 22’s I have not get worn- a little worried now😢
If the problem is only round the edges that rub with the chain, am going to wrap the chain around the area while stored or used with a matching color to avoid damage. Elsewhere, I have no clue what can be done because Chanel outright refuses to repair leather issues even in the classic flaps. The details and picture references are most helpful for folks who haven’t seen the troubles yet. Thank you!
The way I see it, expectations seem to be high when a lot of money is paid for a bag. When we all accept that these bags aren't worth more than a fifth of their price tag then we begin to manage expectations. At the end of the day the $500 bag and the $2k bag pretty much wear the same way. The laws of physics apply equally. That said this bag is really poorly designed. They didn't make investments in the longevity of the bag which imo is the only thing that justifies luxury brand prices.
Yes mama D. These folks on here hold bags of all things to such a high standard just because of cost. They need to quit it. Hermes, Chanel none of them are worth the price tag that’s why they are luxury. You are a smart lady.
This saga is so disappointing. I was lucky enough to finally see a Chanel 22 in the wild yesterday. We were both checking out at Gucci at the same time, and I so badly wanted to ask if she was having the same issue with hers. It’s such a gorgeous bag, but the quality is so disappointing.
I'm honestly convinced these bags are bonded leather :( I'm really into leathers so i purchased a jewelers loop, which comes today, so i can look at my own collection. I'm so sorry romina, but i absolutely wouldn't be shocked if chanel used this material and charged an insane amount for it. I'm SO done with chanel, i will only go vintage at this point. I only have 1 and the hardware is rubbing at the pressure points.
Same peeling happening to the corners of my newer Barbie pink coco handle! Plus the stitching is too tight in some places on the flap. Definitely seeing a trend here.
Romina, I know I’m a bit late in responding but I just would like to tell you something my Mother taught me when I was in my late teens. I had saved my money for quite some time and purchased an expensive silk blouse. I wore it once and the buttonholes started raveling and a seam was loosening. The blouse fit me perfectly and was definitely not too small. My Mother told me to return it to the boutique where I bought it. I didn’t want to. I didn’t want the sales person to define me as someone who retuned items. My Mother told me that I needed to be more respectful of my money and my hard work. She asked me why I put the store and the manufacturer’s time and effort above my own. I’ve never forgotten that lesson., People work hard for their money. Work can be stressful and it’s time spent away from our loved ones and the things we love to do. Please value that more than Chanel does.
To be honest from the first look I knew that this will happen when I first saw the bag, because the leather feels quite fragile and tight around the chain, hopefully you can enjoy your bvlgari instead xxx
They need to get it together soon because apparently they’ve made this part of their classic collection - so it’s here for the long haul! Romina I do really still love the colour of your one though, hopefully it doesn’t get any worse
So horrible what's happening to a bag that you spent so much on! It really just dampens the whole experience and really puts into question why people would buy this bag and anything else from Chanel. When you're at this price point, I'm expecting the bag to not crack, let alone within the first few wears ... 💛
Hey Romina! Thanks for the video! Sorry to hear about the quality issues. I haven’t bought this 22 bag myself and based on this will probably skip this one. Or perhaps if they realize a new version with improvements. I did have the Chanel GST when it came out. I had some issues but nothing like this. The GST I think got discontinued. I hope that you will able to enjoy your bag irrespective of quality issues.
The 22 smacks of The Emperor's New Clothes. As their quality goes down, Chanel's snobbery goes up -- but we as consumers can have an impact on that. I could never keep a bag that wasn't perfect, especially for that price. I never liked this bag, but that's beside the point. It rewards Chanel for poor craftsmanship and price increases to buy badly made bags, report instantaneous flaws, but still keep the bags. To each their own, but it couldn't be me.
Romina here in Portugal we have good clobbers who could maybe fix the leather and the tint later on (long term usage) maybe you do have that kind of artisans in London (cobblers that understand bags). So use it and when it needs maybe find help in that regard… Metallic leathers are not more fragile I work with bags we have a huge tradition here its I believe that finishing and maybe the poor quality of leather… that leather seems to be low grade… we call it bio leather which is cheaper… I believe you’re right… sad because it’s unbelievable that the quality is so poor.
The way their prices keep escalating doesn’t match the poor craftsmanship 😞. The classic styles craftsmanship and quality 😘 👌🏽 and that’s what we need period
Kinda ridiculous how things turned 😒. When back in the day something was breaking you were told, oh beware, it might be a fake! Today, aw it's breaking? Good news - then it's the authentic Chanel! 😳 Why do they put their most dedicated brand lovers through it?
The sale of goods act 1979 should cover this issue. The purpose of this Act is that it requires goods to be as described, of acceptable standards and fit for purpose, for their essential use. All goods that are sold, must match that of the sample shown in that of brochures, stores or showrooms. I think the fact that these bags are obviously not of merchandisable quality should entitle you to a full refund.
They’ve repriced all their bags to supposedly be more exclusive and at par w Hermes but the quality n workmanship has deteriorated. Where’s the logic. I was going to purchase a Gabrielle and was discouraged by the SA who privately revealed to me that they get many returns due to issues w the strap as they use synthetic leather. So nope. Not the entire bag is genuine leather. Insane and manipulative
Leather skins have weaknesses like at the inside legs which are normally cut out. It may be the square shape and the size of the bag is leading sub contractors to economise and include those weaknesses. This seems likely with the red bag. Also some skins may have been left for a long time and they were dry, because Covid19 caused a total shut down in manufacturing. Nourishing the leather is an intelligent thing to do if a bag leather is too dry. Using it and watching it slowly crack further is not a good move. It's highly unlikely, indeed I'd say impossible that Chanel is using composite leather. I'd be very surprised indeed. It looks like there are issues with the finishing of the bag, the surface with the metallic treatment. Other issues like the light pink bag, are just colour transfer, or dirt scuffs. Just clean and nourish that light pink bag is my suggestion. Metal can rub off onto the bag and that's normal. I do think quality is declining with the high inflation environment, but we need to remain calm and logical. It sounds like the SAs aren't very educated about leather care, nor on what has led to this situation. All IMO. Hope it helps
Hello, can i just say that when i bought my 22 in white there was a puncture and im 2 hours away from orlando florida where i bougjt the bag 😩 when i went back first thing the ff day, i was told they can repaint the bag that is the whole purpose of the chanel et moi its part of the waranty. And even if its out of the 5 ye warranty they can still repair it but you have to pay 500$. So i had my bag exchanged and thankfully there was still one white one, at first i was very nervous about mine cause its white but now, whatever il wear it thats what its for and i have to add i have a chanel vanity which had scratches i bought it at the chanel tampa in neiman marcus and they agreed to repair it, il pick it up on july 19… so… enjoy your bags you all chanel will know soon once everybody requests for a repair…i highly encourage videos like this so luxury brands will understand how important it is to maintain their quality and stick to its core value of “quality”because thats why its expensive its not just branding the branding is what it is because of the quality…
I am purchasing this bag regardless of the issues. I love the style and the colors.......... I guess I will find out the issues once I use it. I love your color!
I feel so bad for you about this bag! It's a cool design and colour. Why not go to a leather specialist to buy the proper treatment for the bag leather to preserve it and protect it? The leather may be just drying out? PS you look great with the dramatic eyes and style!
Hi Romina., I saw Dacob’s video and I was not surprised. Chanel is cutting corners on the products that they are putting out. And the prices are going sky high. They only care about the almighty dollars. I think Coco must be turning in her crave. Much love.
I just bought this bag today. I didn’t do any research. I trusted brand and expected quality for 4.5 k GBP. I really like the style of it and just hope that mine will be good.
I never like this bag of its simple design and structure. It doesn’t bring me the feeling of luxury but still I think it suits those who would like the bag to give chill or casual vibe. After seeing reviews like these, it concerns me that Chanel does not work properly on the quality control and the design. When there is a new design that is considered as Classic, they should test it probably before pushing it to the market. The quality issue is ruining Chanel’s reputation and delightful shopping experience won’t be enough to make compensation.
What do you want them to do for you? Return or exchange? No you don't so then what is the purpose... seems redundant just return it and learn a lesson.. I think this is the third video about this one bag... yes we know Romina you are unhappy...
I feel like prices are dramatically increasing and the quality is decreasing… so sad since chanel has always been one of the most prestigious brands to own..
Hi dear, sorry for the imperfect Chanel 22 bags. I am excited to tell u that I bought from preloved shop a Chanel Metallic Purple Tote bag made in 2009. It actually looks like the new Chanel 22 bags, but the one I bought is already 13 years old. I was wondering whether the new Chanel 22 bag is a reissue of this 2009 bag. Perhaps u can find this 2009 bag. I really need to get a Instagram account, so I can show u this bag. Last Friday I went to pickup my Fendi MTO peekaboo n baguette after waiting for 6 months. Both r really gorgeous. Hv a nice week ahead.❤️
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the cracking & peeling on the Chanel 22! You get these same problems with discount stores, leather upholstery on sofas!
And this is why I invest into a replica when it comes to Chanel, except a vintage piece. The quality has degraded through the years. It’s pretty sad how the leather has gotten worst and worst . I love my boy bag and my so black flap bag. Anything else it’s pretty bad
Hey lovely, we'll, I don't gravitate towards Chanel anymore, so sad, I rather play the Hermes game cause at least I'm buying quality and reliability... Anyway still a cute bag and the color very you!
Two brand of bags that I will probably never buy is LV and Chanel. IMHO, both of their quality has gone way down despite prices going up. There are so many other high quality brands for 1/4 the price.
How can you be so calm and not "start a war" like you said, this is your hard earned money, right?! I don't understand it...really....you pay an insanely high price for a NAME literally, you are getting scammed by a company that is not even cruelty free....you buy stuff that is not worth it and still you don't want to argue wirh them. They are using you...and probably laughing about it. You don't deserve this. There are many other great bags out there that actually offer a great quality and you don't have to sell your kidney to be able to buy one.....how come we are so infuenced buy just a name.....this is insane!!!!
At this point I kind of blame you , you keep supporting a brand that does not support you or treat you with respect. Are you a masochist ? Cause you keep showcasing a brand that does not have quality and on top of that does not treat it customers with respect .
What a shame because I love this bag. I think it’s a beautiful design, however, with this idea that Chanel are using bonded leather, especially at this price point, is a concern. They should have refunded you. You have the years guarantee, so let’s see. Use it a few more times and keep inspecting it. I love Chanel and my vintage bags are just top top quality, my modern one’s are not as good in comparison. I hope Chanel sort this problem out with this particular bag asap. 👌🤞😻❤️
best bags to buy from Chanel are : seasonal bags, trendy cc small, Chanel 19, business affinity worst buys from Chanel now : 22, all CF, 2.55, boy Gabrielle is being discontinued
I was super curious if somebody out of making fun /experiment try to order a super fake of this bag??🤣🤣and try to wear this one and see if there’s damage and break the same way like the original???? that will be crazy experiment to do anybody has somebody getting such a bag?? just for experiment that will be crazy if it turns out those SuperFAkes hold better than the original ones just thinking abstract right now🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
It’s actually pretty common nowadays, if you read the repladies Reddit thread, fakes have long since surpassed the quality\longevity of new Chanel nowadays. Not supporting fakes and I have no firsthand experience with fakes but not supporting new Chanel either lol.
very sweet of you to admit that this chanel is a bad piece. im always in awe of these high class brands and its a relief to see that these brands produce such waste of money products.
Now think back of how they treat their customer with rude customer service. We need to be their some kind vip member from their boutique in term of if you want to get certain bag model like their classic flap. Waiting list is for sure but only if you're their vip customer. Now getting more and more people are starting voice out their quality issue on youtube and forum. Come on Chanel don't fool your loyalty customer with a cheapest quality bonded leather(Walmart quality leather)with exorbitant price.
Cracking, especially on the edges, is soooooo common to Chanel, it's absolutely hilarious. The material is just rubbish. You can use an Hermes bag for decades and not a single stitch would pop, yet Chanel is trying so hard to match their price, not quality.
I don't wear luxury items. I watch your videos for entertainment purpuses, AND because you're FABULOUS. Love to see you shopping and living your fantasy. BUT I would get my money back. I wish you a wonderful day Queen👑🤗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well it has some value in keeping it, you can always look back and compare how bad it was or how good it was if Chanel goes even more downhill. But jokes aside in no way I'd sponsor Chanel with my hard earned money to receive this or be stressed out what will happen with my bag while wearing it. I work in small scale bespoke fashion, so I'm inclined to that over big designers, even tho I admire the art, history and all, but oh boy, can't imagine happening this to us. Customers would tear us apart and the prices and level of craft can't even compare to what we see now lol.
@@elizaward2478 No shade towards anyone but lets be real, it's just buying power. Just too many people with a lot of money. I'm able to afford one luxury bag a year at the moment. I'd for sure return much cheaper bag with issues like that let alone Chanel priced one. I can imagine to be less of an issue for people who don't feel the wasted $$$$ in their bank accounts, because they can buy another one the next day.

Maybe Chanel will need to re-design and manufacture them
X P 💖😘💐😇💋💗🌸🍄👜
🤣👍🏾
I truly thought Chanel was trolling us when they rolled this bag out.
poor bag design and cheap looking
Chanel bag quality is in the gutter
My great grandmother used to make bags to put beans inside (I still have them for their special meaning) this was in poverty 100 years ago… thats this bag reminds me bean bags… but still I like them and feel bad for Romina she deserved a better service
I feel like consumers really need to reflect on why they're still buying and supporting this company. Horrible customer service experiences, quality issues, crazy price hikes, etc.
Is this company even a representation of what it once was? Is it time to just by vintage? Or, is it time to say enough and give our energy and finances to fashion houses that value quality, customers and hold some basic principles.
As long as people keep rewarding Chanel by paying exorbitant prices for poor quality, Chanel will keep churning out the shoddy merchandise.

Maybe Chanel will include a leather repair kit in their next advent calender.
LOL

hahaha
This IS the advent calendar all over again, unfortunately the joke is on all the people who buy it.

What I don’t understand & can’t believe is why people are willing to pay so much money on such a shonky quality bag. Then decide to keep them after the material cracked/peeling 🤔🤔🤔
she's not left with any other options, she can't return or exchange.
And from a company pov: why would they Chance anything of the sales keep going up and up
true but still shouldn't happen. also, they won't let her return or exchange the bag, so what can she do?
True and makes so much sense. 💯💯💯💯💯💯
I’m sure she knew about the faults with this bag. It’s all over RUclips all complaining about this bag as she said she does her research before buying but still went ahead to buy it. I agree. they complain about it and then keep buying it. gaslighting 100%
Good for you. I would have done the same. Defects on new items should never be acceptable, and especially not at these prices.
they won't let her return or exchange either...
Thank you for sharing this story!
It's still expensive but at least you get great quality.
it's a French thing I think

WOW! Unacceptable on their part!
Get over it…
A logo doesn’t worth this self-humiliation.
Luxury bags are getting more expensive but the quality is going down. This issue should not happen
It’s luxury of course they are getting more expensive
To be 100% honest with you I wonder how you and Dacob and other RUclipsrs bought this bag !! I will not discuss The style because to each his own but It looks fragile and delicate. It doesn’t look durable or timeless bag for me 😐
At this point Chanel has totally figured it out that for some people, status is really important and because their logo clearly represents "status", they know some will be willing to pay U$6000 on a bag worth U$150 no matter what...quality is no longer important but flexing is! And so Chanel makes TONS of profit thanks to their CC logo. 😂
Good for chanel, keep doing it I say. These people really need a wake up call
Exactly-they produce bag for masses now-compare flap bag from early 90 or 2000 and these days...completely different quality
I honestly think Chanel is laughing at its customers at this point because they put out cheap goods while raising prices and we still buy. The only way to fix this is to stop buying Chanel.
true...
Exactly. You can’t buy a bag like this and not expect pretty immediate where at tear (TINY) because of the robbing. So I’d do this work around myself.
I purchased a couple Luxury bags in the past couple years the quality on some of these handbags have went down but price keep going up 🆙
I find this absolutely disturbing. Spending that much money on a designer bag should no result in all these photos. I just think that Chanel needs to deal with this issue and be honest with their buyers. It is the least they can do for what they charge for their items.
that's why we all have to share this video, so it gains traction!!!
Thank you for the shout-out Romina! I'm so sorry to hear about what's been happening to your bag (and everyone else's!). I really hope we're able to get to the bottom of this.
This is when you know you have gone crazy Who would ever pay all this money for a bag that’s going to get damaged when used.Crazy
Prices are crazy, quality is poor, customer service is crap. Ask yourself : if these bags were not branded Chanel, would you by them ?
I'm so happy that Romina used my photo of
the Ruthenium Chanel 22. LOVE your videos and keep up the good work!!!!
So, I noticed on my white classic flap that I do not own anymore… the same flacking where the stitching was on the side of the bag… (like the stitching was pulling at the leather)
I have looked at a few white classic flaps and noticed the same thing on all of them.
I thought it was just me being overly ocd… but this is what I’m
Noticing on a lot of the bags.
They didn't make investments in the longevity of the bag which imo is the only thing that justifies luxury brand prices.
true!!!
I agree that this is a design issue.
Yes mama D. These folks on here hold bags of all things to such a high standard just because of cost. They need to quit it. Hermes, Chanel none of them are worth the price tag that’s why they are luxury. You are a smart lady.
Love your videos! I bought the 22 in small blue metallic and I haven't worn it yet. 😬
Definitely seeing a trend here.
i doubt chanel cares about anything but profit wich they have definitely made on these bags😅
Romina, we really shouldn’t settle at all. Please push to be directed to corporate. That will light their ass on fire 🔥
Agree I’d be tougher, I think Romina is too nice
The 22 smacks of The Emperor's New Clothes. As their quality goes down, Chanel's snobbery goes up -- but we as consumers can have an impact on that. I could never keep a bag that wasn't perfect, especially for that price. I never liked this bag, but that's beside the point. It rewards Chanel for poor craftsmanship and price increases to buy badly made bags, report instantaneous flaws, but still keep the bags. To each their own, but it couldn't be me.
they won't let her return or exchange, so what can she do?
@@elizaward2478 She had the option and didn't want to, earlier. You can watch the video. But she loves the bag so, so be it.
Romina here in Portugal we have good clobbers who could maybe fix the leather and the tint later on (long term usage) maybe you do have that kind of artisans in London (cobblers that understand bags). So use it and when it needs maybe find help in that regard…
Metallic leathers are not more fragile I work with bags we have a huge tradition here its I believe that finishing and maybe the poor quality of leather… that leather seems to be low grade… we call it bio leather which is cheaper… I believe you’re right… sad because it’s unbelievable that the quality is so poor.
Chanel should have satin lined the fold of the bag to reduce damage from the chains .
Agree or cover it with metal
It will be interesting to see if Chanel change the leather or design! The Chanel 22 Saga continues 😅 GREAT VIDEO ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

As soon as I saw Dacob's bag, I thought it looked like bonded leather.

I think the fact that these bags are obviously not of merchandisable quality should entitle you to a full refund.
but how does she prove that in the boutique when they just tell her sorry we won't let you return or exchange the bag
@@elizaward2478 I’d go through her bank and get the credit card company to get her a refund if it’s on her card
Gabrielle with synthetic leather, what 😳 omg
Good SA being honest, but yeah Hermes bags are handmade and don’t have quality issues
Thanks for sharing Very informative
Detective Romina is at it ❤️ Really insightful video and still think your 22 is beautiful. Grüße aus Deutschland ;)
This reminds me of the Chanel holiday set that was thoroughly ridiculed for having poor quality but a exorbitant price tag.
Much love.
All of my favourite bags lovers RUclipsrs have issues with this model. It is a huge signal that something is wrong with this bag definitely!
Yeah there’s definitely quality issues with all the 22s
If they are a serious brand, Chanel should do a recall of all these bags. LV does that.
Agree
I have none of these issues on 20+ year old leather pants from The Gap. There is something going on w Chanel.
I’ve truly lost all interest in this bag. I was willing to go over my budget limit to get it, so glad I’ve watched reviews on it.
Chanel is really pushing the boundaries to see how much they can get away with.
What do you want them to do for you? Return or exchange? No you don't so then what is the purpose... seems redundant just return it and learn a lesson.. I think this is the third video about this one bag... yes we know Romina you are unhappy...
Yeah I’d just push for a full refund and move on from the bag
I know she’s such an attention seeker fed up listening to her complain maybe sho don’t have anymore ideas left
Thank you Romina ❤️❤️👍👍💕💕👍❤️
I’m shocked!!😳 I love this bag, won’t buy it. Thanks for sharing. I am sorry you have to deal with this 🙁
Sales are down use the cheap leather they need to be sued
Product recall!
I feel like prices are dramatically increasing and the quality is decreasing… so sad since chanel has always been one of the most prestigious brands to own..
Agree Lagerfield didn’t do these massive price increases and there weren’t the quality issues
Now I understand, Chanel are using the type of leather used on very cheap furniture, well done Chanel
There are many other great bags out there that actually offer a great quality and you don't have to sell your kidney to be able to buy one.....how come we are so infuenced buy just a name.....this is insane!!!!
well chanel already threatened to sue her in the past, so i wouldn't wanna start a war with them either haha
@@elizaward2478 one reason more to quit giving them her money
@@elizaward2478 look at her replying to everyone’s comment
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a fan of this bag to begin with. It just kinda reminded me of the bag you’d get with the purchase of a perfume.
They ll ignore it. As far u r buying and keeping the bag
At this point I kind of blame you , you keep supporting a brand that does not support you or treat you with respect. Are you a masochist ? Cause you keep showcasing a brand that does not have quality and on top of that does not treat it customers with respect .

CHANELに憧れはありましたが接客の態度の悪さに加えて、商品の質まで悪くなったことを知り落胆しました。CHANELのバッグを買うことはないと思います。
Hermes doesn’t have quality issues ;)
They have to reinforce the leather on where the fold is
Agree or cover with metal
How do I send a photo of my faulty bag?
What a shame because I love this bag. I think it’s a beautiful design, however, with this idea that Chanel are using bonded leather, especially at this price point, is a concern. They should have refunded you. You have the years guarantee, so let’s see. Use it a few more times and keep inspecting it. I love Chanel and my vintage bags are just top top quality, my modern one’s are not as good in comparison. I hope Chanel sort this problem out with this particular bag asap. 👌🤞😻❤️
best bags to buy from Chanel are :
seasonal bags, trendy cc small, Chanel 19, business affinity
worst buys from Chanel now :
22, all CF, 2.55, boy
Gabrielle is being discontinued
I was super curious if somebody out of making fun /experiment try to order a super fake of this bag??🤣🤣and try to wear this one and see if there’s damage and break the same way like the original???? that will be crazy experiment to do anybody has somebody getting such a bag?? just for experiment that will be crazy if it turns out those SuperFAkes hold better than the original ones just thinking abstract right now🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
that would be so funny
It’s actually pretty common nowadays, if you read the repladies Reddit thread, fakes have long since surpassed the quality\longevity of new Chanel nowadays. Not supporting fakes and I have no firsthand experience with fakes but not supporting new Chanel either lol.
I feel like it's not bonded... I think it's just soft lether and the construction with the chain rubbing is bound to chunk pcs of leather off!
very sweet of you to admit that this chanel is a bad piece. im always in awe of these high class brands and its a relief to see that these brands produce such waste of money products.
my white chanel 22 started peeling too
So sorry to hear that!! Xx
I wish you a wonderful day Queen👑🤗⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
they won't refund her which is horrible...
@@elizaward2478 I think she should really push it, people are recommending she make a claim with her credit card company
Customers would tear us apart and the prices and level of craft can't even compare to what we see now lol.
i really don't understand it either how chanel can get away with this...
