I love Cavern for a King. Absolutely most goated cave. Also the reason the switch joycons are in the 'Nostalgic' series is because Pikmin is set in a post apocalyptic version of earth... Thinking about it, if this happened, the switch is old by that point where humanity is gone and new plant and creature life has emerged.

That ice falling is why I always ride Oatchi whenever there is bottomless holes involved, I do like how this dungeon encourages creativity as much as skill

It’s gonna take a while, but likely not as long as last time. Pikmin 4 seems to be doing hella numbers compared to the others, so now it’s gonna be a higher priority franchise than it was before :D

I didn't have much problem with the stages, as Oatchi had the posion resistance (I didn't hsve white onion) so I relied on him for things i couldn't just purple spam, but god man. Stage 17 broke me. That shit was just unfair.

There is no shame whatsoever in resetting the Empress Bulblax fight
Yeah I had to reset like 5 times
To be honest, I cheated so, so hard: I exited the cavern to get 100 rock pikmin, got back and won, then switched ALL of my pikmin types for the whole cave.
@@chuckokler7021 Yep, she pretty much existed like this to MOCK YOU for not having the foresight to come in with Rock Pikmin and NOT lose any of the amount you feel you'll need before reaching this point! I never had a reason to use all those glow seeds I had in my inventory from EVERY night mission till this point! The Glow Pikmin were a lifesaver. But even then almost lost because Oatchi got K.O.ED and I was at a silver of health when she finally fell!
This was the ONLY time I ever had to use the Rewind function! Never mocked it and GLAD to fucking have it

i remember joking with my friend how people would react if they never found the purple and white onions because they skipped the side content and only just learned about it from the final cutscene. And now the next day I see it happen. XD

You can tell when somebody has played the first two games because they never use the charge horn.
Level 17 is poorly designed, you cannot change my mind.
What's even worse is empress bulblax can stun your captain when shaking pikmin off, guaranteeing you lose most of them.

You can actually get the purple and white onions from doing the sage leafling cave at base. To unlock it, you need to play through olimar's shipwrecked tale when you talk to him in your base.

Ah yes the Empress Bulblax. Likely the ONLY time I used the Rewind function and was fucking GLAD they added it!
She was the biggest example of "Hey Chump, Hope you foresaw me and came with Rock Pikmin HAHAHAHAHA" Me in the background "NOOOOOOOOO!"!
Had to Rewind 10 fucking times! Only getting past it because I saved all those Glow Seeds from the Night Missions seeing NO reason to use Glow Pikmin! Till this point! And even then I STILL almost had another rewind and Oatchi fucking "Game Overed" from getting roll over too much! LOL
If you are struggling with Floor 17, you can also use Explosives to cheese the Empress Bulborb as well.
Seconding this. Screw doing it the "correct" way, cheesing it with explosives was so much easier.

Funny thing - I lost over 50 Pikmin 4 times; first on the Arctic Beetle floor because half my Pikmin got flung off me into a pit when I got hit by a snowball, second to the Progg after Oatchi rushing him and expecting my Pikmin to not die of Gloom, then to the Titan Blowhog floor to the Blowhogs SHAKING OFF PIKMIN, and then to the final boss because he hit me with a scream while I was between two gloom piles.
Just came back to watch this again. Holy smokes this was an excellent series. Also realized I hadn't subbed, so that is fixed. You really did an awesome job with the humor and the editing to make this probably the best playthrough of pikmin 4. Definitely my favorite.
Also you can beat the entire cavern for a king with just glow pikmin.

This series was great! I enjoyed it the whole way through! Pikmin 4 was a such a great game, and it was fun to watch someone else experience it!
I decided to Ignore the blues to bring Rocks cause I heard it was a boss rush.
Best decision I made.

Big tip for sub lvl 17 if you rush the most annoying boss ever with oatchi at his behind then go off the ledge and do it multiple times you can cycle him like 5 or 4 times your welcome for anybody needing help :)
you can also just bring rocks. If they get crushed, they dont die and are safe against the Baby Bulborbs
